nsulating materials are used to drive electric current along fixed paths, without passing through the space they occupy. Dielectric coatings, or insulators, are usually used at the base of pylons, aerial pathways, railings, parapets and hand rails, as well as all the surfaces of structures that are concerned with current transmission and where it is necessary to be sure that personnel does not get struck or get electrocuted accidentally.

This type of coating product offers high resistance to electric current, also called “specific electrical resistance”, or the predisposition of a material to oppose resistance to the passage of electric discharges.

materiali isolanti servono a obbligare la corrente elettrica a seguire determinati percorsi, impedendole di attraversare quelli nello spazio da essi occupato. Le pitture dielettriche, ovvero isolanti, sono generalmente utilizzate alla base di tralicci, passerelle, ringhiere, parapetti, corrimano e su tutte quelle superfici di manufatti che hanno a che fare con la trasmissione di corrente e dove è necessario essere certi che il personale non rimanga folgorato o prenda delle scosse accidentalmente.

Questa tipologia di prodotti vernicianti presenta un’elevata resistività elettrica, anche detta “resistenza elettrica specifica”, ossia l’attitudine di un materiale a opporre resistenza al passaggio delle cariche elettriche.
