he construction of the new Turin Porta Susa train station (opening photo) is not an end in itself, but part of a much larger renovation, modernisation and urban redevelopment project promoted by both the City of Turin and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane SpA. The Turin Porta Susa station can be defined as “integrated”, because it provides a new concept of transport characterised by a seamless integration between underground and rail. It is a great work destined to play a key role within the city of Turin, since it will serve as the focal point for the urban and suburban transport of people and goods as well as a reference point in terms of reception and services. a realizzazione della nuova stazione di Torino Porta Susa (foto d’apertura) non è fine a se stessa ma è un’opera che si inserisce in un ben più ampio progetto di ristrutturazione, ammodernamento e riqualificazione urbana rientranti nelle strategie condivise del Comune di Torino e delle Ferrovie dello Stato. Una stazione, quella di Torino Porta Susa, definita “integrata” in quanto sviluppa un nuovo concetto di trasporto che vede una perfetta integrazione tra metropolitana e ferrovia. Porta Susa è una grande realizzazione destinata ad avere un ruolo fondamentale nel contesto urbano in quanto costituirà punto focale per il trasporto urbano ed extraurbano di persone e merci ma anche perchè sarà un punto di riferimento in termini di accoglienza e di servizi.
