SGM Jim Dickerson, PGA Life Member Hawkeye Distinguished Veterans Award

It is with great pride and honor that the Iowa PGA and the GIVE Foundation Board announced that SGM Jim Dickerson, PGA Life Member was part of the Class of 2022 for the Hawkeye Distinguished Veterans Award presented by the University of Iowa.

Jim was awarded this at a ceremony on November 10, 2022 as the IMU Main Lounge; as well as at halftime of the Hawkeye Football game on November 12 vs Wisconsin.

Jim joins other recipients like Captain Hayden Fry (US Marine Corps), Ensign Nile Clarke Kinnick, Jr. (US Navy) and Staff Sgt. Henry B Tippie, (US Army Air Force) to name three.

This award was started in 2015 as a way to honor members of the armed forces who have demonstrated exceptional service to the United States, their communities and the University of Iowa.

Jim was awarded the 2014 PGA of America National Patriot Award and continues to serve the GIVE - Golf For Injured Veterans Everywhere as the Lead Instructor.
