T

his month, we’ve decided to share advice for weddingday bliss from the members of the Invitation Magazines staff. Enjoy this issue, and we will see you Aug. 1.

My advice: A nice

gift for your bridesmaids is to let them select a dress from a color palette you have chosen. This offers them the chance to choose something they are both comfortable in and will actually wear again.

Rachel M. West, PublISher “Wedding planning can be stressful so on the big day just relax and enjoy it.”

-Alise Michael Emerson

“Accept the fact that at least one thing will go wrong on your wedding day. Don’t let it bring you down. These mishaps always make the best stories in the long run.”

-Hallie Marshall Thomas “Consider getting married in a sentimental spot because it will mean so much to you in years to come.”

-Moni Reynolds Simpson

“Don’t worry about the things that don’t go as planned – you are still getting married!”

-Leigh McLaurin Lowery

“One of my bridesmaids helped me make a notebook where I could collect photos and clippings and write down notes. It kept me organized, and it’s a great keepsake.”

“Check the Ole Miss football schedule before setting the date.”

-Sheena Hagemann

-Emily Welly “Make sure you and your groom don’t have too much fun the night before the wedding. I’ve seen too many grooms (even a bride) whose day was ruined by a self-inflicted headache.”

-Emily Rawlings Suber “Laugh and enjoy your day; don’t miss the big things by stressing over the small ones, and, of course, wear fabulous shoes.”

-Julie Cook Clark

“Make a list of all friends and family members who should be in formal pictures so the photographer won’t overlook anyone or have to guess.”

-Sonia Thompson “Eat something! Ask someone to prepare a plate for you and your groom. Otherwise you’ll be whisked along from one hugging relative to the next and forget to eat.”

-Cindy Galloway Semmes
