spatiality. This provides the interior with plenty of ventilation, air-flow, natural daylight and views to the surrounding fish ponds. Overall, Wanakasa has triumphed as an example of natural living in the city of Tagaytay. Megawide Construction Corporation (MCC) Headquarters is a 10-storey building located at N. Domingo St Quezon City, Metro Manila, a strategic location easily accessible from the cities of Quezon, San Juan and Pasig. The company’s continuous growth called for a flexible office area where the employees could fulfill MCC’s mission and vision. Positioned on a sloping site of approximately 1,430m², the project has a built up area of around 6,300m². It is aimed at delivering a high quality working environment for a range of small to medium sized businesses which corresponds to approximately 69% of
the space. The brutalism architecture of the building projects a bold image of a businesslike professionalism, order and solidarity. It features a striking concrete surface on the façade and for various interior treatments. This shows the true beauty and stability of concrete and also echoes the company’s determination to provide quality engineering. Metal structural elements conjoin the raw concrete surface providing a strong contrast in material, colour and texture. The MCC Headquarters includes a green deck that serves as insulation and features a low energy and high performance building envelope with an excellent indoor environmental quality. Setting a leading example, the project obtained LEED Gold Certification from the Green Building Council in 2011.
