The program was developed so that the new Fellows and their spouses and guests could have a better understanding of the honor they are about to receive. This educational program has been highly successful.
The program is presented the afternoon before the Convocation. It is about one hour in length, and is followed by a reception. The time frame is usually about 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. This time offers the opportunity to meet your FellowsElect from your District.
Spaces are reserved in the front for Regents and their spouses. Regents are introduced.
Topics covered include opening remarks, why you are a Candidate, history of the College, structure of the College, a charge to the Fellows and a welcome to Fellowship.
Following the FOP, there is a reception named in honor of Dr. Charles M. and Alice Simons who provided a generous grant to fund the audio-visual needs at the reception for several years. District numbers are placed at reception tables to help the District Officers and Fellows-Elect find and greet one another.
