LIFNAV Vision

People enjoying life in all its fullness through transformative relationships with self, God, others, and all creation.

My Story:

Encourages you to share your story, Determine your preferred future, and Plan the path of achievement to your quality of life goals.

Goals

1. Engaging individuals to build relationships that extend individual strengths to community strengths so that we are better together.

2. Empowering individuals to create their own path for a higher quality of life with community investments through social determinants of health.

3. Equipping individuals, through strength based coaching and bundled resources through a self-determined plan of achievement for a higher quality of life.

Reflecting the quality of community, In the lives of Others, Increases the Quality of Life, Of Us.

One Life

It is the same for all of us. We are each given one life – just one. But there the similarity ends, because no two lives are the same. Each of us is unique – even identical twins have different personalities.

We develop our own relationships and skills. We make choices that determine how our lives will unfold.

Also, we are open to the ‘unknown’ – things that happen to us. We cannot choose how others will react to us, or select how many welcome or unwelcome circumstances may come into our lives. These things affect us all as individuals – and we react in different ways.

We each develop preferences – things we like or dislike, find helpful or unhelpful. Yet however we develop, we only have one life.

We all experience that moment when we realize, “Life is not a rehearsal. This is the only life I’ve got.”

It’s the same for all of us.

What will I do with today, this hour, this minute... my one life?

Life is a Story of Self

Life is a story of self in community.

The community determines the quality of life opportunities.

You determine your quality of life goals.

Your life become part of the quality of community we experience.

Reflecting Quality of Community

We all want a home... A place of residence. A congenial environment. A place of origin.

But more importantly, we all want to be at home... Relaxed and comfortable. At ease. In harmony with our surroundings.

We are neighbors, community.

Might our community listen to my Self? My desire to be at home? My Quality of Life priorities?

Might we walk beside each Other on our journey?

25
home

This fixed space expands infinitely into the vastness of my dreams. Here I can be me, just me on my throne, among the riches that I hold. I find peace.

Here I remove the mask— I can cry to tame my fears, or rejoice in my blessings, I can scream or laugh or lie down quietly no matter how angrily the storm rages outside, or within.

Here I dust off and regroup, I reset my compass to my promise. Out there I may be lost, but when I come here I have space and peace to listen for directions back to myself.

When I am here, in this place, I know, that I am home.

Prosperity’s Choice

We all take –

The strong take whatever they want

The weak take whatever is left

The strong take from the weak

The weak take their revenge;

And so we wither.

If we all give –

The strong choose to take less

The weak give thanks for their fill

The strong give power to the weak

The weak give their support to the strong; And they stand together as us

And so we prosper.

Social Determinants of Health

Social determinants of health are conditions in the environments in which people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes. Understanding the relationship between how we experience “place” and the impact of “place” on our well-being is fundamental to the social determinants of health. Let us focus on faith and seven social determinants of health (SDOH7).

My Thoughts...

Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships.
Stephen Covey
34

Sludge

Sludge is the muck of progress often found in unnecessary rules, too much paperwork, or hurtful language. Sludge reduces freedom, in the sense that it makes it harder for people to get where they want to go. Helping is sludge when it provides short-term relief, but extends the experiences that steal future-well-being.

What is the most frustrating sludge in your way?

What is the meanest sludge?

How should we talk about difficult barriers to success?

35 ?
36 Change...

Nudge

Nudges are the interventions that fully preserve freedom of choice, but that also steer people’s decisions in the direction of well-being. Nudges make life easier. Nudge examples include encouraging communications, a comfortable environment, or a helpful time saving resource.

What is your favorite nudge?

What is a nudge you know you need?

38 Forward...

Resource Ladders

How do you experience gathering resources?

Who is your favorite coach that helps you get resources?

What are the resources you need for your goals?

Where are the resources?

When can you get the resources?

Why might you be successful in getting the resources?

39

Notes & Reminders...

40

Hidden Chutes

How do you experience when other people helping hurts you?

What doesn’t the helping community understand about how they hand out resources?

What might the helping community do to reduce how helping hurts?

Why do people help in ways that harm your goals?

How will I know that I am making progress?

Attainable

Who is a resource to help me achieve my goal?

My SMART Priority Goal #3

Specific

What is my clear quality of life benefit with this goal?

Measurable

How will I know that I am making progress?

Attainable

Who is a resource to help me achieve my goal?

Relevant

Why achieving this goal is important to me?

Timely

When do I want to achieve my goals?

47

My Thoughts...

Home is ultimately not about a place to live but about the people with whom you are most fully alive. Home is about love, community, and belonging, and we are all searching for home.

48

Gifts of the Head

What are the gifts of thinking that I have to help me achieve my goals?

49

Gifts of the Heart

What are the gifts of feeling that I have to help me achieve my goals?

50

Gifts of the Hands

What are the gifts of ability and talents that I have to help me achieve my goals?

51

I Believe in My Gifts

52
As I believe in my gifts of Head – Heart – Hands, I can... I will...

I have a faith that is important to me.

My spiritual beliefs can help me get through.

I need to be connected to a faith community.

53
My

My Faith applies to my current situation.

I may benefit from connecting to a faith leader.

Because I believe, what I believe, and who I believe with, I will achieve my goals.

Faith...

One Finite Life

Short this life is, just one I’ve got, finite in tenure whether I like it or not. Death, is embracing fear, replacing dreams with “I cannot,” Life, is taking a new step having a shot.

I will do the impossible, I will change the world, I’ll give hope to a despairing nation, I’ll give bread to a starving girl; I’ll break all the records, I’ll do what’s never been done, I’ll give and know love, I’ll be a billionaire of fun.

Finite...

You can whip me with your words, you can bash me with your lies, you can chain me to the ground with your rules, you can stab me with your eyes;

I’ll forgive any personal harm, I’ll ignore all acts of mean, but I will not forgive obstruction of my purpose and dream;

55

Life...

For I am a superman, I am a king, I will not just lie down, I will get up and take to wing; I will rise up as sure as the sun, as sure as the springbok I will run, as sure as the eagle I will fly ‘cos I choose to live until I die.

What will you do with today, this hour, this minute? Will you fill it with dull and fear or will you live it?

I will not tolerate any foe no matter weapon or munition, especially if that foe is within me in the form of fear or lack of ambition.

Short this life is, just one I’ve got, finite in tenure whether I like it or not. As sure as the eagle I will fly ‘cos I choose, I choose to live, until I die.

56

What will I do with today, this hour, this minute?

57
One

Life.
