To you our Sisters, Thank You! You INdulged and engaged in INtimate, INdepth conversations about all aspects of life and yes; you INspired me. When planning this event, my prayer was that the sisters who would attend would leave enriched, propelled by wisdom and comradery to take the next steps in achieving their God-given purpose. Without a doubt, I know God answered my prayers and I can’t wait to hear the INcredible things you; my sisters will do all because of Sunday March 30.

MRS. JOANN BOYD – Servant Leader/ Mother/ Wife

Joann M. A. Boyd was born in Nassau to the late Florence (Gibbs) Gray and the late Rev. Altamond “Eric” Gray. She can be characterized as a woman of determination, focus and with a heart of gold. Joann is a career banker. She began at the Bank of Nova Scotia after high school and remained there for 10 years. She joined Royal Bank in 1989 and worked in several areas the final area being the Internal Control Department as a Quality and Control Officer until her retirement in February 2018.

She is a part of a large closely-knit family, one that prayed and worshipped together daily. This gave her a firm Christian foundation and a firm faith. Her mother was an Anglican and her father was an AME Zion Pastor and, eventually, the local Presiding Elder for that denomination. Joann and her siblings grew up attending church with both parents and their children therefore grew up with an appreciation for different denominations. Joann chose to be Anglican and as a young person she was active in Sunday school, Brownies and Guides, the Christian Youth Movement and the Youth Choir. As an adult she was a member of the Anglican Church Women, a vestry member, became a Sunday school teacher and, eventually, Sunday School Superintendent.

In 1988 she married the then Fr. Laish Boyd (now, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese) and they have 3 sons, Laish Jr. Joash and Nathan and 1 grandson, Zayden.

One other area of ministry she has added during her journey is that she has on two occasions (in Bimini and at Holy Cross) formed and co-directed a Children’s Choir. This is in keeping with her life-long love of children and involvement with various children’s ministries since she was a teenager. She firmly believes that children are the future and will make up the church of tomorrow. Joann’s willingness to give of herself has drawn many to seek her counsel and /or listening ear. She enjoys ministry with her husband and has spoken to several spiritual gatherings. Her love for helping people encouraged her to complete a course in Clinical Pastoral Education and she is now a certified Chaplain with the Public Hospital Authority and has given many hours in service and ministry at PMH, Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre and Doctors Hospital. Her motto is, “If I can help somebody as I travel along, then my living shall not be in vain.” She enjoys gardening, cooking, meeting, helping and encouraging people.

ALIA CAMPBELL – Associate, John H. Louis Jr Family Dentistry

Born on December 1st, 1978 this native of Freeport, Grand Bahama, Dr. Alia P. Campbell embraces the beginning of her birth month each year with her favorite song, Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas”. Alia P. Campbell otherwise known as Dr. A’li is a mother, doctor of dental surgery and a warrior.

After graduating from Freeport Anglican High School in 1996, Campbell pursued tertiary training in the United States of America at the historically-black Xavier University of Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. She went on to attend the University of the West Indies School of Dentistry at Mt. Hope in Trinidad and Tobago, from which she notably was the first Bahamian graduate. Now residing on New Providence, Dr. Campbell practices dentistry at Princess Margaret Hospital and Dr. John H. Louis Jr and Associates where she has been the only associate in the 60 year old practice.

Being a firm believer in the best thing you can wear is a smile, she has made it her life’s work to make people want to do just that... Smile. Whether it be through her love for dentistry or her vibrant sense of humor she shares on social media, she lives each day responsibly as if it were her last; because, at one point it may have been.

Diagnosed with malignant ductal carcinoma in December 2018, Dr. Campbell fought fearlessly. She fought for her son Logan-James. She fought for the many women who were too tired to fight for themselves. She fought for and with her mother, who too was fighting cancer at the same time. Strengthened by her favorite scripture, Proverbs 31:25: “She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future,” Dr. Campbell fought because she was determined to be counted among the warriors who fought and won.

Following the passing of her mother post Hurricane Dorian September 2019, Alia chose to make a decision to live life fiercely and unapologetically. She makes no excuses for the energy she exudes and the woman she has become. She’s a pink starburst that walks in purpose with passion.

They all walked in as women, and girls but left as Sisters! Read what some of them had to say…..

I truly loved the event. Wow what a wonderful way to bring together from all walks of life. Ms Marcelle and I reconnected and all the ladies at the table got along beautifully. I got so much confirmation of the way forward for my life's next steps. The food was delicious. I wanted to speak to every SOI. I wanted to absorb every story. Maybe next time you can do an all day affair. Ohhhh I loved the vendors too ...excellent idea! Congratulations on an amazing event. Cheers .

This event was nothing short of amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at my sisters’ table as we discussed individuality. We talked, we shared, we laughed, we connected, we bonded and we all left inspired, uplifted and encouraged.

What Can I Say About "Sitting With The IN Crowd"? It Was Interesting, Insightful, Inspirational And Inexplicable, You Had To Be There! It Was Good To Fellowship With Other Women From Different Walks Of Life, At Different Places In Their Lives Who Have Overcome So May Adversities. It Was A Time Of Self Discovery, Renewed Strength And Encouragement. The Evening Ended On Such A High Note When Ms. A’yanna Prayed Heaven Open And Spoke A Word Over Us. You Could Feel The Presence Of God In Our Midst. Looking Forward For Next Year's Event!

An event designed for women to share with each other, in which ever way the Lord leads, "Sitting with the IN crowd" took us to a level where we were stripped of our varying differences and united in a way that only God can.

I had a great time at the Table, as a teenager, I was encouraged by Ms. Taylor our leader, to continue to focus on the goals that I have set out for myself and know that I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength. We had great conversation throughout the evening, hearing different views from the girls around the table all helped me.

At my Sister’s Table was an great experience for me, I had an opportunity to get a deeper dive into the book Blended Harmony written by my best friend, Mrs. Ruth Devina Bowe, who was a Sister of Interest for the evening. It was timely for me as I have a blended family. There we so many great tips on how you can make it happen, whether you're a bonus mom, an aunt, or even a counsellor. The conversation and comradery was good. It was really good to see so many women of influence in attendance in one space. The food was good and I also enjoyed the vendors. Good success! NikiaForbes

This event was so overwhelming! I was expecting to just come, talk with a few like-minded sisters and then leave. But the presence of God saturated the place the entire time. From my sister’s table to the other presenters it was only God. You would have had to be there to experience this impactful event. These are the events that I am seeking and longing for in the presence of God to be inspiring, interactive, interesting, in-depth and inviting! It was truly a blessing.

I had the privilege of sitting at the round table with Ms. Melissa Darville, her insight on maneuvering through the business world has encouraged me to keep pushing with my entrepreneurial endeavors. She reminded us sisters that we have the power and with faith in God and strength to push and keep going you can accomplish all of your hearts desires. I would encourage us as sisters, wives, mothers, daughters, aunts, godmother, to take a seat at a sisters table to tap in to the strength, encouragement and resilience to grow through anything this life may present us with.~Khamille ~

Sitting with the "IN" crowd was not an event I prepared for. I thought I was coming to support my sister friend but what I received was so much more. I walked in the room one way and left from table SHIFTED. Those ladies spoke into my life and in fact we have all committed to become a support for each other. Since the event, we formed a WhatsApp group where we continue to pour into each other daily. May God continue to bless the organizers immensely! Shelby Brice

It was a most exhilarating experience spending those few hours with my all of my sisters. There was so much diversity and ladies of influence in the room, not to mention the variety of books and products on exhibition and for purchase From entrepreneurs to educators, authors, fashion designers, single, married, separated, widowed and divorced. I garnered so much from each presenter. The menu was scrumptious and in the end no one left empty handed, thanks for the gift bag. I enthusiastically look forward to this event next year and encourage all my sisters to be there

The Event was informative, exciting and colorful. Although we did not move about to speak to other Inspired ladies I met my Namesake we took a picture and exchanged info. Overall it's a must do again. It was greatly needed. The prayer at the end was most powerful. Women are fragile creatures and we must be treated and respected as Queens. I got a lot from My Table Sisters, Especially Lady Storr. What A Blessing it Was! Tracey Butterfield
