All proceeds generated from the tests will be divided equally among the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Fraternal Order of Police Survivor’s Fund, Greater Philadelphia Traditions Fund and The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center. As part of the final operational approval process by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the casino will conduct tests for table games and slots on September 20 and 22. During the test periods, table game and slot play is for invited guests only. The test periods will be a dress rehearsal for the 800 new workers employed by SugarHouse. Approximately 160 of the new employees will be recent graduates of the casino’s dealer school. Immediately following the conclusion of each test period, the PGCB will conduct a standard audit and verification of the casino’s processes to ensure it is ready for a public launch. the legacy of

HOWARD THURMAN SPEAKING PEACE AT A TIME OF WAR HOWARD THURMAN believed that personal spiritual renewal was important to the liberation process and that inward liberation was a prerequisite for social transformation. During a crucial period in the American Civil Rights Movement, he acted as an advisor, counselor and mentor to leaders within the movement. The date of this conference is important for it serves as a reminder of ideals that serve to divide us. Instead, we will dialogue on the progressive, radical, and reconciliatory ideals of this great man as he still speaks to a contemporary community. Come and share with us as we journey toward finding greater meaning in our lives. SPEAKER
