EDITORIAL Love is in the air XAMK University! Undoubtedly, St. Valentine’s Day has its own unique atmosphere. For lovebirds it is atmosphere of magic & kisses, and for loners its grey-sky time full of chocolate pink wraps and dramas.
In case you still have not decided where to have a romantic date in Kouvola – read “Top-10 dating places in Kouvola” specially prepared (and visited) by Prakhar and me.
But no matter how you are feeling during this period, we should all agree that this is an amazing spring weather behind the window, sunshine and a few more left days before the one-week holiday.
However, if this time you are having date at home with your loved one, it is a great idea to cook something together and luckily Muhammet has shared one of his personal favorites – steak recipe.
Afterall, no matter why you decided to open INSIDER magazine – to see some couple tips before the upcoming holiday of love or to pass loneliness – you will not regret it!
DC fans will definitely not miss Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey premiere, but make sure you read Muhammet’s movie review first not to have vain hopes.
In this issue our writers prepared a few surprises for you: Daisy wrote a long list included mustwatch films dedicated to St. Valentine’s Day, but if you still not familiar with the history behind this holiday – check out Claudia’s article about the origin of this celebration.

4 movies dedicated to this Valentine season! The season of love is here and Valentine’s Day is around the corner. It’s the day that is dedicated to romance and love. For the couples, it must be very special to be together enjoying some romantic dates or movie night that definitely melt your heart. But for those who haven’t still found your true love yet, surely romantic movies will be an effective mental medicine. “Season of waiting could be season worth cherishing”, therefore, hiding in your own corner, holding a cup of hot chocolate and chilling with a well-picked movie is definitely the best treatment.

Now, all you have to do is burn a scented candle, grab some snacks, curl up under a blanket and, perfect, turn your movie on! Check out top 4 movies dedicated to this Valentine season below: 50 first dates I would say it’s the most classic movie to watch on Valentine’s day all the time. The story is about Henry Roth - a man always afraid of commitment until he meets the beautiful Lucy. The two immediately attracted to each other and fell in love like a sail on the sea. The thing is, Lucy has short-
term memory loss. She would forget him the next morning and they will become strangers again. If you were Henry, would you do? Leave him/her or stay with him/her? Forget your love or make them believe in themselves and be together to win over it? "50 First Dates" has actually conquered millions of audience hearts in the last decade. The film reminds each of us true happiness, understanding, and especially love as if it’s the first time. About time About Time is one of the movies I appreciate the most because it's not just a romance film like any other. The movie is a letter filled with profound messages about friends, about love and most important - about family. At the age of 21, Tim was told by his father that the men in his family have always had the ability to

MOVIES travel through time to change what happens in his own life. Tim finally meets the love of his life- Mary, when he moved to London to train as a lawyer. They fall in love, but an unexpected time-travel incident could make them never be together again at all. So they meet for the first time after that but she can’t remember Tim. Do you think Tim can win her heart again? To all the boys I’ve loved before The bravest thing in this life is to be able to confess to the person you love. It sounds simple but it is really difficult for a girl who turns 16 like Lara (still very difficult for adults tho). Thus, she chose to express her feelings through letters that were never sent. Lara always imagined the romantic love stories and she probably only lived in her dream until an unexpected incident happened. The letters have reached the right addresses and the worst thing is it included Josh - Lara’s sister's ex-boyfriend. Therefore, she decided to pretend to be the girlfriend of Peter Kavinsky - the second hottest boy in school to avoid facing Josh. But then Lara realized that she could not live forever in dream or fear, it was time for her to find her own true happiness. Lara and Peter have been
together for the best time of their youth. They just need love, which is enough. The love when we are young is probably the most beautiful love in everyone's life, isn’t it? Crazy Rich Asian To end this list, I’d love to suggest this movie which is called Asian Cinderella fairy tale in real life. The film is made based on a novel with the same name, revolves around a normal girl named Rachel Chu who accidentally discovered Nick Young - her lover - is one of the richest billionaires in Singapore. After 1-year dating, Rachel followed Nick back home for the first time to attend a friend's wedding, also on this occasion to be introduced to her future mother-in-law and enjoy the upperclass life of this super-rich country. However, it is never like a dream, when many troubles begin to arise. The movie will totally consolidate your faith and trust in love: what is meant to happen will find its way. RECIPE
Preparing the perfect steak
On valentines day, most of the people have reservation on the fancy restaurants. A romantic night out with the beloved one and maybe some vine after the meal and walk in the end of the night, going back home. This plan is great. Everyone likes that. But what is even better? Put on your apron and cook the meal for yourself. Today, we are going to give you the recipe for a nice, soft and tasty meat. To make sure you reach out to the best taste, you need the right piece of meat. Go to market and find a tenderloin. Size and amounth of it is of course in your decision. Remember, you need at least 5-6 hours before you cook it. Because the secret of this is to marinate the meat first. We are going to give you a recipe on how to marinate the meat and you can get the soft, restaurant quality meat taste. And your partner will be happy with the result. Promise made. Ingredients: • 1 glass of milk • 1 teaglass of olive oil • 2 dessert spoon of thyme • 1 piece of garlic • 2 dessert spoon of chili pepper • 2 dessert spoon of black pepper • 1 small branch of rosemary There will be no salt for marinating, the salt will be added while the meat is being cooked. We need a deep tray, preferably glass. Just deep enough that the meat will be in there and the marinate sauce can cover the whole meat, so the meat will be inside the sauce and will have no connection with air. Try not to put the meats on top of each other. After you place the meat in the tray, pour the milk and the olive oil in it. Try to massage the meats just a little bit and make sure it is covered by the liquid. Put the thyme in and make sure all the meat is taking some of it. Put the rosemary in it and peppers. Cut the garlic in pieces and create small hole with your knife. Do not go through meat but just a place to stick the garlic in to the meat. And put the garlic in there push them a bit deep into the meat. Mix the whole thing and make sure every ingredients are connected with every meat. The acid in the milk and olive oil, the milk will get softer and the spices will give taste to the meat. When it is ready, cover it with stretch and make sure it does not get air in it. Put it in the fridge and make sure it waits at least 3 hours and maximum of 2 days in there. When the marinating is done. Put olive oil in your pan. Preferably it should be griddle. It is made from iron and it is a heavy kind of a pan. Put on the fire of your stove, and wait till the pan is hot. Make sure the pan is hot enough. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes. Depending on the thickness of your meat but the idea of this is to seal the meat so it holds to the water of it. Put cooking paper on your baking tray and when the meat is sealed, put it on the baking tray. Make your oven 210°C and cook the meat about 30 minutes in it. This can depend on how you prefer. Prepare yourself some side dish with it. Since this is Finland, I am guessing potato should be fine with some green stuff. Light your candle. Pick a movie from our valentines day suggestions and have romantic meal before the movie. Find a good vine, watch a romantic movie after the meal and enjoy your night. Muhammet Cakiroglu

VALENTINE'S DAY Valentine's Day in the World
This week issue is released on the 14th February. It is known by everyone that, on this date, all the couples celebrate their love during the festivity of Valentine’s day. This is the day when people send gifts, flowers, cards and chocolate to their special person in their life. But do you know why we celebrate it? Valentine’s day is also known as Saint Valentine’s day. Its roots come from the old roman age and there are two legends behind this day, talking about two different saints both called Valentino. The first one talks about the protector of lovers. This legend is telling, for example, about how
Valentino stopped an argument between two lovers, by offering them a rose. The second legend talks about a Christian martyr called Valentino. He celebrated the wedding between a Christian woman called Serapia and a pagan man called Sabino. The bride and the groom died together at the end of the ceremony and Valentino was killed right after. Every country and every culture has its own traditions on this day and Finland has its own too! The Finnish translation for “Valentine’s day” is “Ystävänpäivä”, that literally means “friend’s day”. While the rest of the world is celebrating this festivity with their romantic partners, Finnish people are celebrating friendship with family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and of course, their soulmates too. This is a quite recent festivity: it was only during the late 80’s when Finland started celebrating Ystävänpäivä, but from that time, it is totally normal to spend this day with friends, go out and have some fun with your mates, and receive chocolate and cards from them! Fun fact: Valentine’s day is the second biggest season for postcards in Finland after Christmas. These cards are usually sent through the National Postal Service “Posti”. Since 2015, people were sending around 3 million postcards through Posti, only for this day. To make it through with all these deliveries on time, the postal service usually has to hire around 150 extra workers just for this season! So, don’t be sad if you don’t have a boyfriend/ girlfriend for this Valentine’s day. Friendship never ends! Claudia Riva

The weather we have right now might make our readers feel a little demotivated and bring down their excitement about going on a date this week. Afterall, you just cannot enjoy something in the outdoors with your special person if it rains and the wind blows all the time. But don’t you worry, who said that going to the park, having a picnic in the open or spending sometime on the beach were the only date plans couples could have? This week, since there’s love everywhere, we bring our readers some alternate ways of taking their loved ones on a date in our own city of Kouvola. Cliché cafés Even if you’ve been in Kouvola for just over a month and still haven't got a good look at the surroundings, it is quite impossible to ignore two most frequent places to go, one of which is a café. Although it might seem a little bit simple and cliché, but who doesn’t love enjoy some nice time with their loved ones while sipping some nice exotic tea or coffee (which all Finns are truly in love with) and delicious cake to add to it. The other thing that which is impossible to ignore in this city are it's bars and pubs. A Bar-tour in Kouvola is something that might not disappoint you or your partner if drinking and having fun is something you mutually enjoy. Plus you never know what you might walk into in the next bar you walk-in as many of them are usually having special events and cocktails for their customers. E.g. Brooklyn, The Banks, The House Of Rock, Jolene etc etc etc. Oh for those of you who wants some club “action”, check out Club Touba.

REVIEW Birds of Prey I call a protest!
They are ruining our filmography. Everything they put their hands on, they massacre. This time, the character every man who watched, fell in love with, Harley Quinn is ruined. They make this movies to ruin the old movies. Do not ask how they manage it. They do. They show us the depth of the characters in a way that we feel like, ‘but this is not true, this character is badass.’. Actually, maybe this is my wrong opinion, but Harley Quinn was not a dumb woman. Now she is and we know that everything she did in the movies before, they were out of luck because they say it in this movie. All the other movies are ruined now because we now know that she is dumb but lucky. Another superhero who’s talent is to be lucky. I call a protest as I said. We must not go to see these movies to show them that we do not like them. So they stop ruining our childhood. They did it with almost every movie lately and I have had enough. Anyways, let’s talk about this movie a bit. Has any of you watched ‘Ocean’s 8’? It takes the job from men of the Ocean’s series, put there women, make it a movie to show ‘women also can do things.’. We know that. And I respect that kind of a movie in it’s way to show a message. This time, it is revenge. In this movie, women are taking revenge from men. In this movie, the men are so evil and bad, there is not a single male thing that is good. Maybe there is one but we are not sure. I am quite sure that animal was a female animal but there is no spesific informaiton about it so we can not say. But if it is a male, it is the only good male thing in the movie. They go so far with this aspect that even Harley Quinn becomes a good person in her own way. I would understand if some woman would come up and say that she will make a movie to show men how to do it. And that’s exactly what Catchy Yan thought. I would respect it. Very much. I would even love it. Only if she did not multiply all the cliché and cringe that are in every movie. All I can compliment in this movie is music. At least they are good. And maybe, possibly one more thing. Now that Gotham City is controlled by women, mayber it will be a better place. Because wherever women go into, they make it better.
