Where and What to eat and drink in the heart of Hungary? A big hello to all the foodies! Time to guide youthrough the places to get the best food and drinks in the beautiful city of Budapest! WARNING: do not read it when you’re hungry! Ready? Let’s go! First of all, let me introduce you to the main specialty of Hungary – goulash. A meet soup, basically. But for some magical reasons, it is much better than just a soup. Indescribable. One of the most authentic places to get extremely cheap real Hungarian Food – Frici Papa, a place where a full meal will cost you less than 7 euros on average. They also serve traditional Hungarian paprikash – chicken (mainly) in paprika sous. It is worth mentioning the goulash is also quite good in Borlap and Bistro Most. Together with that for a fully authentic experience, you should take famous Tokaji wine from one of the regions of the country! 4
Want some pastries? Hungary is famous for its traditional langos – bread with toppings in a form of cheese, sour cream or just garlic spread. The best one? Definitely Retro Langos! If you are having a walking tour by yourself around the city, don’t miss this place, it’s only 5 minutes away from the Basilica! For authentic ruin pubs, you definitely should go to Szimpla Kert. Probably, the most famous one in the Jewish quarter and in the city in general. Therefore, touristy and more expensive than other places, so be aware! These are, probably, the most important things every tourist should see. For more extraordinary places in Budapest stay tuned and read the next issue!

EXCHANGE TO CZECH REPUBLIC (4)
Practical advices for travelling. Going on exchange is not only an opportunity to study in the foreign university and meet people from all over the world, but also a great chance to travel. Since Czech Republic is located in central Europe, it doesn’t take much effort to travel to neighbouring countries and all-around Europe. During my exchange I have visited seven countries and more than fifteen cities. I was mostly using buses as it is the cheapest way to travel. In addition, buses routes can take you to any destinations and pass most of the cities on the way. I am quite used to move with a bus and I am always enjoying the view outside the window as the bus keeps moving from one city to another. There is something romantic about it, I guess. I would recommend travelling with Flix bus (it is the cheapest option) or Regiojet (those are the most comfortable buses equipped with Wi-Fi connection, monitors for watching movies, playing games etc. and also they serve coffee, water and tea). Tickets can be easily bought from the bus company website or through the mobile application. Probably everyone knows about Ryanair airlines which usually offers discounted tickets, but I still would like to mention it as sometimes plane tickets have really crazy prices. As an example, I got my ticket from Prague to Eindhoven, Netherlands for only 38 euros. I could only dream about something like that! As soon as I found that tickets I Immediately bought it. You could also try using a bla bla car for affordable travelling, but I didn’t have chance to try this way of travelling. Talking about living in a foreign country, of course, everyone is familiar with Booking website or app for searching for the most suitable accommodation options and I was always using that one too, until one of my friends has discovered Hostel world for me. Unlike Booking, Hostel world searches only for hostels and provides more options. Guess what? It was the first time I have tried Couchsurfing and I think everyone should try this way of travelling at least once! It is not only a way to stay a night over 6
for free and probably have a beer or dinner depending on the host, but what is more important, it is an incredible experience to meet new people, have a nice chit chat and spend some time out with locals. Couchsurfing also allows to find activities and people near you who would like to hang out. I was travelling both solo and in a group. From my point of view, it worth combining moving on your own as well as travelling with your friends or in a tourist group as it gives completely different impressions and opens various aspects of those types of travelling. On the one hand, when I travelled with my friends, we had lots of fun and even went wild. We stayed up almost all night hanging around from one club to another and satisfying hangover hunger in McDonalds in the early morning before going to sleep just for a few hours. During the day we followed previously agreed plan, walked around the city centre and visited main attractions. If you travel in a group, you always have your band next to you and all of you share cool moments and make awesome memories. Moreover, in case something unexpected happens during the trip, your band is there to help you out. Although, solo travelling might seem boring or lonely, it will surprise you how damn cool it might be! Here are some of the advantages I could highlight. Firstly, all of the decisions like choice of accommodation or sightseeing places depend only on your wish. Secondly, travelling on your own evolves such skills as self-organization, time management, planning and feeling of responsibility. Since you have to deal with all the arisen problems on your own and find solutions out of plenty unforeseen circumstances. Believe me, during my solo I have gone through wide variety of those and I have learnt to how to survive on the road in a way. Finally, travelling alone increases chances to meet local people and make new connections. You can always change your route and take a leap into uncharted territory.
Whatever you choose, travelling is one of the best experiences in life and I am sure everyone would agree with me. So, what are you waiting for?! Pack your stuff and go explore the world! Polina Vishnya

REGROOVABLE BY VILLE LEHTOVAARA It had been raining all morning. I woke to the uncomfortably pleasant guitar chords emitting from my mobile phone on the nightstand. The bodiless guitarist was replaced by my friend’s voice. Ni wanted to meet at the bar from last night. When we met, the rain was forgotten for the sun, which formed an eloquent rainbow overhead.

What was the music that played during Reading Rainbow? You know the theme song? I think it was the same band that played at Ethan’s bar mitzva. Come to think of it, they played at his wedding too! But the strangest thing happened – When the priest said, “I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the br- ” this band stood up and said “Get a room you heathens!” Then they proceeded to pass out psilocybin mushrooms among the patrons. When Ni talked it was like the tip of an iceberg, floating on an aimless ocean. The brilliance of her ideas was found during the invigorating sleep between the drunken party and the wretched hangover. Like when you’ve worked through the week and you finally have your day off, but then your boss calls you back in.
Ni Okay… Did you listen to the album? Ni Regroovable.
Wo Get to the point, I’m so hungover and my head is killing me. Wo Which album?
Wo Yeah…it has no unified style, so it made my brain jump from chasm to chasm, and after the jump I just said to myself – “…that’s it? That’s why I jumped?”
Ni It seemed so perilous, but it was just a joke. I see what you did with the chasm metaphor – because of the gratuitous use of reverb?
Wo Exactly. At one point – “Tango De La Muerte” I was convinced that this was an amazing album from a flowering jam band… Then my body dropped back to into the chasm.
Ni Only to be ear fondled by a man seeking out a crawfish at a bar. It’s alright to be into the same sex but when your next song talks about your sister teaching you how to read using the bible, it just drops the listener down another chasm.
Wo It’s all too clear that this band was formed in their youth Sunday School. They are all talented, but they don’t belong in the same room. “My life is misery; my life is pain” is on the same album as a sing-along for children.
Ni I don’t know which drove me crazier – the solo drop at almost the exact same timecode for every song or the extraneous metronome sounds which plagued the timbre of the legitimate instruments.
Wo Yeah, I really wished they had stuck with the sound on track 7. It’s the only one that will stay on my phone, for the bike to work in the morning.
Ni Well I guess that’s our cue to part ways.
We heard thunder in the near distance.

I wanted to check if Finnish universities are so good as everyone is talking. In addition, I wanted to know if Finland is that cold like everyone is saying. What do you miss about Belarus?
Low prices in terms of food (Oh I am a foodie!!, shopping, and hair-dressing but most of all, I miss my family, friends and my cat, Tesla (Yes! That’s true my cat’s name is tesla lol) What do you like about Finnish people?
They are quite shy, but they are always ready to help. What do you like now about Finland since you’ve been here for two months?

RECIPE
Hey fellas! How are you all doing this time of year? I find myself to always in the position to expect that one morning when I just wake up, the pine trees outside will be covered in snow. But how strange, our beloved Kouvola is still snow-free. And people still say that climate change is not real.
Ingredients:

That aside, I am bringing you a simple, yet not simple recipe. The reason I said that is how simple it is to find all the ingredients and process them, but the actual time for them to come together is unfortunately lengthy. It is no other than fruit roll-up, or fruit leather, as some might call it. Let’s dive right in.

1 tablespoon of honey
Instructions:

1 tablespoon of sugar
1. Blend the raspberries with honey and sugar in the food processor for a few seconds until you got a thick and smooth pureed. Alternatively, if you use frozen raspberries, you can put them in a small saucepan and use a wooden spoon to break them up. 2. Pour the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking sheet (or even better, a silicon baking mat). Use a spatula, spread the mixture out into a thin, even layer with no visible hole. 3. Bake for ~6 hours on 60 degrees. Check after 4 hours as it could dry up quicker, depends on the fruits. 4. Once it is all dry and leathery, take it out of the oven and give it a few minutes to cool. Once cool, roll the sheet and cut it into your desired length. Here you have it! Since the baking time is too damn long, it is very easy to get distracted and forget, so make sure to set an alarm. Insider is going to be 20 years old! Our magazine’s teenage journey is coming to an end in a few months, which means we can expect to have a BIRTHDAY PARTYYYYY EVERYONE!!! Yep you are right, we are throwing a party next February to celebrate Insider’s 20th anniversary. Some may ask what kind of party that you have to prepare in 4 months? That’s because we are trying to send out the invitation to all Insider’s insiders – who have contributed to the magazine for the past 20 years. So many people from so many countries. Believe me, retrieving work was a pain to us especially those contacts and data from 90s when there was not any kind of digital drive to save online. So, we had to go through every single issue to make a name list. You can calculate 20 volumes x about 22 issues each volume = the number of issues we worked on that one afternoon. Insider has changed so much comparing to its first day, in a positive way of course.
