Editorial Privki vsem, Am I the only one who feels like time flies with a speed of sound? Wasn’t it beginning of March just yesterday and it is already April in a few days. I wish I could have that superpower to slowdown or reverse time. If you also have lost track of time, let`s take a look together which events Insider have brought up for us this week! Since we are international students we are supposed to be exposed to new cultures. One of the prefect ways to do so is to visit one of the country presentations organised by our exchange students. If you have overslept it, then go through Lena`s review of four countries presentations in one night. Luckily, we haven’t missed 1st of April yet. To be fully armed for the world celebrated April`s fools day check on several food pranks prepared by Anna to surprise your friends or make them hate you lol. Next one in a queue, is profile of exchange student from Belgium done by Lizzy. It is time to make your plans for the summer! It is time to say goodbye to cold Winter and tardy Spring as sexy Summer is coming real soon. Welcome you to the series of travel recommendations that you definitely should give it a try in Southeast Asia (SEA). In each article, insights about 1 location are shared. There are 3 locations in total. Southeast Asia fact #1: SEA is the third most densely populated geographical region in the world with more than 641 million habitats, just after South Asia and East Asia. Southeast Asia fact #2: Southeast Asia with 11 countries is separated into two parts known as “mainland” and “maritime”. Mainland SEA or Indochina includes Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and West Malaysia. Today I want to tell about exhibition organized by Virta team of XAMK university. Kuvaa ja Muotoa (Art and Form) third exhibition is organized by Virta designer community. Virta operate in Kasarmimäki, they organize different events and try to make sure that students get right appreciations for their works. Also, they want that students from different degrees come together to work in mixed groups. Virta started at 2017. There have been 80 pieces from 47 student in exhibition. In 2017 the first exhibition was supported by Student Union Kupla, while 2 others have been organized by Virta. Today I will talk with Touko Joentausta (head organizer of event in Manski shopping center in 2018/2019) and Aapo Suominen (one of the organizers) and they will answer some of my questions.

What is the purpose did you decide to organize an exhibition? Aapo: We inspire to get more people interested in design and make design available to more people. Touko: I am hoping to get Kouvola’s city life better and make students from different degrees to work together. Because those projects have given me most enjoying moments during my study life. How many craftsmen worked on the creation of this exhibition? Touko: There have been about 15 people building the exhibition at Manski (from Tuesday to Friday (opening day)). What materials do you like best? Which one do you prefer?

Aapo: Hard work will pay out What was your first job (project)? Did it inspire you to create something new? Touko: My first actual work in Kyamk was sculpted sugar cube bowl and later i have sculpted several pieces for example coat of arm of my grandfather. Aapo: My first school work was little stool and it got me into designing more furniture and chairs.
Touko: I have done handcrafts from childhood but more seriously my 6 and half year in this school.
Appo: I like to work with wood, because its ecological and very forgiving to work with.
Touko: To show people in Kouvola, that in our school there is very talented students. And i also hope that some young people in Kouvola will apply to our school.
Touko: Student Union Kupla organized exhibition in center of Kouvola at 2016 and I was visiting there and started immediately think that this should be every year!
Touko/Aapo: Pros that it is always nice to see and hear when student gets good feedback about their projects. Finishing project like opening of this exhibition gives some much good energy to see that again we can make something big happen. Cons are that these projects take a lot of resources and time.
Thank you for interview! but I want to ask you the last question: What advice would you give to beginners?
Aapo: I have been making and taking apart things my whole life. What had a greater impact on you? Touko: Internships in Netherlands because my bosses have always made sure that I have to make my best. Aapo: Our furniture making course in 2nd year was huge inspiration to me and that was when I made my prince lounge chair which I am very proud of.
What heights do you want to achieve in the future?
What does it mean for you to come into the workshop every day to turn on the light and start working?
Touko: That we will be held exhibitions every year in the center of Kouvola. Our expectations are that more

Touko/Aapo: We don’t have any unusual traditions but we do drink unusual amounts of coffee in our meetings ;)
Touko/Aapo: Definitely the doll queen at the main door. But then it would be more horror movie.
Do you have a favorite famous master whose example you take?
How did the idea to open the exhibition appear?
Does your team have any unusual signs of tradition?
If you were in a movie like “Night in a museum” and all your exhibits came to life, who would you have made the main character from the presented works?
What audience is your exhibition aimed at?
Aapo: I really like the work Tapio Wirkkala and his use of Lapland as inspiration. I also admire the work of George Nakashima.

Touko: Maple tree and for finishing I prefer shellac.
Touko: James Krenov was one of the best cabinet makers in world. He is very straight about that everybody should work for their best.

Touko: learn the basics and after that spend as much time as you can in workshop and always talk to people about their projects because i have learned most of my knowledge from other students. Aapo: Keep doing what you believe in, and you will find out your own thing.

Martin Leonard How many countries have you visited? France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Estonia, Mauritius, USA – West coast, Poland, Morocco. What do you like about Finland so far? The snow, we can ski all day here. The educational system is cool because we are mostly free at the university. We don’t have a lot of classes like in Belgium. Who inspires you the most? Christiano Ronaldo inspires me a lot because he works really hard. He knows what he wants and he always gets his goals by working really hard.
What is your name and where are you from? My name is Martin Leonard, I am from Namur in Belgium. What do you study? I study marketing at Henallux University. I am currently in my second year. Why did you come to Xamk for studies? One of my friends was here before for an exchange program, he told me there that the Xamk is a good school, Kouvola is nice so I decided to choose Xamk and of course, I have always to visit Finland, learn about the Finnish culture and discover new things.
What is your passion? I love Football. I am a referee. I have already been on the pitch as a referee for Classico for young players in Belguim. Where would you love to visit in the future after Finland? I would love to go to Thailand and some countries in South America. What would you like to become after studies? I would love to work in my father’s company (he owns a printing company) or I would love to work in Housing agency.
What do you miss about Belgium? I miss our student parties with a lot of students. Beer is cheaper in Belgium than in Finland. I also miss my mum’s food. I have to cook alone here. I have a car in Belgium, so it was easy to go around, in Kouvola we have to use the bus so, I miss my car.

Food Pranks One of the best holidays that we all are looking forward to is April Fools' Day - worldwide holiday celebrated on April 1 in many countries. Do you know who were the first prankers in the history? Practical jokes and pranks date back to Roman times. The ancient Romans and Celts celebrated a feast of practical jokes during the March equinox. April Fool’s Day is a great opportunity for you to trick your friends and not get beaten up. And if you think that you are lacking ideas about what pranks to do, I just might be able to help you with some cool food pranks that are super easy to prepare, and even cooler when put in action. The only bad thing that can follow is that – you might lose some of your friends. Food colouring Let’s make the world more colourful! Just add food dye in your roommate’s tea or yogurt. Who wouldn’t be happy to try red milk or blue tea? Just small warning before: you’ll have to see stained teeth of your friend for some time. Recipe improvement The truth about sugar and salt is that they look identical. You can easily replace them, but don’t fall into the trap by yourself! At worst you’ll have to taste salty apple pie or sweet fish soup. This plan also might work with other similar products e.g. replace peach yogurt with mayonnaise or put mint toothpaste between the cookies instead of Oreo crème. Mmm… delicious!? Candy crush Wrapped candies are perfect for little surprises. The hardest part of the plan is to eat sweets before. After that use those wrappers to wrap up grapes, stones, or anything which looks like a candy but is not really a candy. All you must do is to offer these refreshments to your friend. You’re welcome.

4 in 1 Country Night On the evening of the 21st March, four Erasmus students invited us to a very special journey, the 4 in 1 country night. As you may have already read some articles about different country nights that happened in the past, but this one was completely different. Not one specific country was promoted, but 4! The Girls that promoted the night took us with them on a special journey to Russia, Czech Republic, Nigeria and South Korea. As usual, the night started with a presentation. But instead of one we heard 4 amazing presentations with a lot of insights in the specific countries. For example, learned we that in South Korea the age system is different to the one we know in the western world. In fact, you are born with 1 year of age already! Lizzy, our Insider team member who also participated in this night, welcomed us in her home country Nigeria. She taught us a lot about the different tribes in Nigeria and told us a funny story in the Nigerian language. Then the journey followed his next destination and we landed in Russia. We were introduced to the Russian alphabet and also a little bit into the specialties of the country. We learned for example that two of the most famous games in the world come from Russia. Can you guess which ones? In fact, I would have never guessed them by myself. It´s Tetris and Escape Game. Impressive, is it? After spending time outside of the EU we didn´t wasted a moment and traveled directly into the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic. We got some nice insights about the culture itself, the beautiful landscape and the food. Then it was time to eat! The girls served us from South Korea some delicious Seafood Pancakes called Haemul Pajeon as well as Korean style Blackbean noodle with the name Jajangmyeon. From the Czech Republic we tasted some traditional potato salad with pickles, onions, bell peppers and mayonnaise and Schnitzel. Lizzy brought as one of the most spiciest chicken wings from Nigeria but to make things up again she baked us some bananas called plantains. To round things up we ate for dessert Blinis, Russian crepes topped with condense milk. Delicious!

PREVIEW: Avengers: Endgame
O
ne month left before one of the most-awaited movies of the 21st century. While the time is coming, we’ve prepared the most important things that you will need to remember before going to the movie, in order to get the most out of it. Die-hard Marvel fans probably know them all, so we’ve included some theories into the list. Sorry in advance if these theories are correct, which is almost impossible when it comes to Marvel! Half of all living creatures is dead. Thanos won, and Avengers lost – for the first time. It’s new to them, they will need time to recover psychologically physically. Meanwhile, a lot of our beloved heroes are gone as well as half the population of the planet. They need to be brought back. How? Read on.

ick Fury played his trump card right before he vanished. Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has received Fury’s call for help, as we saw in the mid-credits scene of her own movie and the trailer for Endgame. Avengers now have another player in the field, the strongest one up to date. They will need to thrust each other to conquer what has happened, and while Captain Marvel didn’t have the best introduction to the MCU (you can read about it in the issue from 15/03) she will definitely help the group that is basically named after her to win.

hanos isn’t the only villain we’ll see in Endgame. Infinity War was a film about Thanos – he had the most amount of screen time and his drama was so good that we still remember it. And while there is no doubt that the Mad Titan will appear in this movie, there might be another big bad rising. Nebula was the one in the comics, when she put the Gauntlet on. Besides, last week the deal between Marvel and Fox finally came to an end so we might expect some villain from the Fox’s universe. Could it be Victor von Doom? Galactus? What about… Magneto? Wait and see!

s Loki coming back? One of the most shocking deaths in Infinity War, considering the time from the beginning of the film and the way it happened, was Loki’s. I mean, really? The god of mischief, the one who has known Thanos for years and even worked for him, tried to stab him with a shiv? There are many rumors around this death, such as: Bruce Banner that landed in Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum isn’t the Bruce Banner that we know but Loki; that guy whose neck we saw being broken wasn’t Loki but his projection; Loki did die in battle order to help the heroes from Valhalla, where he’ll meet The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton is in Endgame) and… Ultron?! All these theories have supporting grounds that would take the whole issue if I start explaining them, but they all exist.
W
ill the heroes go back in time? Probably, the most famous theory. We have the photos from shooting, where we see the heroes during their Battle For New York time, with old costumes on and stuff. We had Michelle Pfeiffer’s Wasp warn Scott Lang to not get sucked in the time vortex. We didn’t have anything time-jumping related in the trailers but that old recording of Scott Lang knocking at the Avengers’ facility front door. Will Avengers complete their own Gauntlet using that sample that we saw in Thor: Ragnarok or the one on Eitri’s planet, Nidavellir? Will they destroy all the stones? Questions are too many. Last but not least, Avengers: Endgame comes to Studio123 on the 24th of April, so be sure to go and see it all!
