EDITORIAL
Have you been through a good weekend ? If the answer is yes, you might have been very exciting, do you? No matter how it was, let's begin a new, fresh week with our mayinterest-you articles. If you are fond of ice-hockey and are a fan of KooKoo, you will trully experience the match even through a paper. Book and Movie review hopefully are somehow a recommendation from us that you can try in this week. There is an article about dreams, so figure it out if you have never read any same before. For adventurers who love travelling and absorbing new cultures, The Exchange Program will not let you down. As usual, Profile column brings you new insights of people being around you in and outside of the campus. In weekend, it is good to cook some dishes and enjoy them with your friends and relatives. ICE-HOCKEY
Generally speaking, an ice-hockey match includes 03 periods and 02 breaks. Each of the period lasts 20 minutes and during an 18-minute break, the ice on the rink will be cleaned and recreated. In two weeks, Kouvola was the place that people from a lot of places came here to watch ice-hockey matches between home team KooKoo and their rivals for National Championship League. The matchs were held in Lumon Arrena near the center station (Matkakeskus). Inside the stadium, the atmosphere was full of motivation and excitement from both sides's fans and the audiences, which warmed the whole stadium up a lot. Besides that, there were chealeaders who danced to support between each period. My words can not describe these amazing feelings. To my foreign friends, if you once come to

Finland and especially Kouvola, it is worth experiencing an icehockey match that you have never had before to feel what I was feeling when sitting in that stadium. Luckily, thanks to the coporation between KooKoo and XAMK, our students had chances to watch these match for free. But their duties were forming teams, watching matches, observing in and outside of the stadium and creating new ideas which ehance the experiences of the audiences. After that, there will be a given day on which every team is gathered to present their ideas. The prize for the winning team is a Sky Box in the stadium value 1,210€. Isn't this cool? And there are also amazing presents for runner-ups, which are VIPtickets value 489€ and Clubtickets value 341€. BOOK REVIEW Thrilling and well written debut novel, The missing girl. The novel was authored by jenny Quintana and was published the end of year 2017. The genre of the book is thriller, -psychological-, fiction, family, mystery and crime. The novel unfolds the tale of Flores family and the missing sister. On an autumn day in 1982, Anna was twelve-yearsold when her older sister disappeared. Her and Gabriella that was fifteen-year-old at the time agreed to meet up in their family shop, a House of Flores after school but that night Gabriella never showed up. She disappeared on her way home from school and the only trace that was ever found was her bag. A someone she had cherished and looked-up to. The 12-year-old Anna was in fear, despair and frustrated by the secrets of her parents and sister appeared to have around the time of her disappearance. As well an investigation that was going nowhere and Why was Gabriella friendly with Martha Ellis, the school outcast? As she couldn’t cope with the situation and the agony of her loss, anna moved to Greece away from her home village and a new start for herself. Fast forward thirty years later, Anna was informed of her mother’s death, Esther and she was forced to return to her home village and to sort through her mother’s possession. As well the house and the family business their second-hand shop. Although she didn’t intent to stay long, it was away for her to reconcile and dredge up her old memories, face unresolved issues and lastly to re-investigate her sister’s disappearance. The missing girl is interesting story of family drama, suspense, secret that unfolds and a time shifts between the two eras 80s and the present. Lastly it was thrilling how the story was in tale by the view of the younger sister, Anna. Let us know your thought!!

PROFILE
Suvi Karell Suvi Karell, one of our insider colleges, she graduated days ago for only 1,5 years which really surprised me at first. Read to take a look what she has shared with us. How do you manage to graduate in 1,5 years? In the first year of my studies I spent basically 8 hours a day and 5 days a week at school, took 1st year and 2nd year coursed at the same time and started my thesis too. If I didn’t have lectures to attend to, I was in the library writing reports and assignments. Any tips for those who want to graduate earlier? If you want to graduate earlier, you need to have good time management skills (can be learned). Something that motivates you is helpful, for me it was wanting to move to Malta as fast as possible. How long have you been working for insider? What do you think of your experience in insider? I started to write recipes for Insider autumn 2016. Then autumn 2017, I wrote about my experiences here in Malta. After coming here I was working as a content writer, then a brand executive and now starting as a freelancer (content writing and translations). Also, I learned to use WordPress, which is now a part of my everyday life basically. How do you like Malta? I love Malta, mainly the ocean and the sun. it is warm here even now, 16-17 degrees and today I ate ice cream at the beach. I love the sun, it is basically shining throughout the year. In the summer I love the heat, it gets reaaally hot in here and last summer we had 4 heat waves when it got +40, loved it too. Will you recommend others to have an exchange there? I would recommend this for a place to have your exchange or for the trainings needed for the degree, since this is an easy country to come to and live in. Everyone knows English and the entire school system is in English. Also, coming from a EU country it is easy when here too they have Euro as currency. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves the sun, ocean and heat

HOW DO PEOPLE DREAM?
My dream journal A few weeks ago, I suddenly had a bizarre urge to know how other people dream besides myself. To be honest, I have always so fascinated by the psychology behind dreaming for so long, but the basic information that is easily accessed online does not seem to satisfy my curiosity. I discussed it with my best friend and we found out the ways we dream are oddly different. This was the last straw for me to create an online survey to find out how other people dream. I did not expect many people to participate in my survey at first, as it seems a tad personal since dreams are closely linked to our everyday life. That is why I was surprised to see friends whom I am not that close with, or even total strangers (since I set the link public) do my survey. And it was not just some basic yes or no answers, there were some amazingly welldetailed storied that got shared. The first thing I asked is whether all of the survey takers are aware that they dream every night. Surprisingly, 30,8% said no. This might be due to the fact that most of us do not remember how our dreams went after waking up, though it has been scientifically proven that we, in fact, dream every night. The next question is the general theme of their dreams. This resulted in all kind of answers, from “reality mixed with fiction”, to “something that always makes me run”, to love, fear, travel and even “fullblown Satanic rituals”. The same thing goes with “a dream that left you traumatized” and “the best dream you have ever had”. I was taken aback a bit, in a good

away, with how people chose to share their life stories with me. Some gave me extremely genuine answers, on how they were traumatized by dreaming of being killed, killing their parents, seeing demons, seeing dead people, being abandoned, etc. On the contrary, some say being given money, having a happy family or getting back with their ex are their best dreams ever. One friend said that his best dream is also the dream that traumatized him, which is really intriguing. Some more questions that got asked are “have your dreams ever linked to each other”, “do they affect your attitudes in real life” and “can you wake up on demand”. My answers to all three are yes. But the answers I received were overwhelmingly diverse. This again proved that the ways we dream are in no way the same. I closed the survey by digging deep with sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming. With sleep paralysis, the mutual feeling is usually being pinned down, unable to speak and move. But a good number of them have never experienced it, which again, left me surprised since I thought it is such a common part of dreaming. The same goes to lucid dreaming, which I myself, have not tried either. The ones who have tried said they either did it a lot in a long period of time or tried once and was too scared to do it again. But most of them just asked me back “Can we do that??” So, this concludes my survey on dreams. I know I can’t cover all the aspects of dreaming, since they are quite intricate. THE EXCHANGE PROGRAM Are you tired of the cold weather, the snow and the dark endless days? Well here at Xamk you have the opportunity to apply for exchange in so many other countries beside Finland. Depending on the country you chose to go and the degree as well, you get to study everything in English. For going exchange you have three period options, you can go for the autumn semester, spring semester or the whole year. In general, when I ask my friends why do they want to go exchange, they usually tell me that the reason is that they want new experiences, they want to get everything out of the whole University package, and if you ask me, I think that’s a pretty good thing to do, you get to meet new people and make new friends, but one of the best part of it all, is that you get to learn the different life and culture of the countries you want to go exchange for. I have some of my own friends that have gone exchange,
some came to Finland and some others are still on exchange in different countries of Europe and they feel happy for their choice. I myself want to do the exchange program as well because of every reason I mentioned before. Stela Demaj

PAN SEARED STEAK SALAD
Have you ever gone through the situation when you read through school’s menu for tomorrow lunch and find nothing matches your taste? But you are so fed up with boring sandwiches, or find out the inconvenience of bringing a “fancy” home-made lunch? This week we Insider will show you a simplified version of a healthy quick and easy-to-go steak salad. All the ingredients are very easy to find, available in every supermarket and “wallet-friendly”. Light enough for a lunch but still full of nutrition, either you are on diet or not, this is an ideal lunch recipe for you to try!
Ingredients: 1. Pork shoulder (Kassler) – easy meat part that keep moisture well
Total time: 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 170
2. Season the pork with black pepper, salt, dried minced garlic, dried rosemary and whole grain mustard the set aside. 3. Prepare the salad by chopping the lettuce into medium slice and add the rest of the salad ingredients. Top with mayonnaise and some balsamic glaze for the sweet-tart taste 4. In a skillet, add some oil or butter and sear the pork over mediumhigh heat until each side is brown. Transfer pork to oven and coat the meat with a little honey then roast for 5-15 minutes depends on how much moisture you want to keep. 5. Finally, slice and serve all in one dish! Briefly speaking, the story is about the continuality between Rebel Alliance and The First Order. Rey is trying to persuade Luke Skywalker using his Force to save the Rebel Alliance but he ignores what she says. In the same time, Rebel is trying to destroy the enemy's space ship but not succed. In contrast, they are followed and attacked although they carried out a space jump with the velocity of light. From that moment, they run out of fuel which prevents them running away from the enemy. Coming back to Rey, she is unsuccessful in bring Luke back to war but she accidentally finds out the Force running in her blood which is compared as 'raw force' and as strong as Kylo Ren, the son of Leia Organa - President of Rebel Alliance. The journey of Finn and Rose Tico with the support of Poe Dameron to a casino in order to find a code breaker begins. Unfortunately they are caught and thrown to prison. Here they find the person they want but he turns out a betrayal to them. In the end, they succesully run away and find a shelter in the nearest planet to defence. But the enemy does not stop there, they keep following and destroy until there are no people left in the station. Rey comes back to help her people and so Luke does.
