I had two or three plate full of international food mmmmmm, I did have a favourite but am not going to say which I liked the best, what I will say Thank you to all the students that decorated a stand and cooked food for all of us to taste. A Big Thank you

We begin with the Fool (0), a card of beginnings. The Fool stands for each of us as we begin our journey of life. He is a fool because only a simple soul has the innocent faith to undertake such a journey with all its hazards and pain. The Fool is unaware of the hardships he will face as he ventures out to learn the lessons of the world. On setting out, the Fool immediately encounters the Magician (1) and the High Priestess (2) - the great balancing forces that make up the perceived world. The Magician represents the active, masculine power of creative impulse. He is also our conscious awareness. The High Priestess is the mysterious unconscious. The High Priestess is our unrealized potential waiting for an active principle to bring it to expression. As he grows, the Fool becomes more and more aware of his surroundings. As with most babies, he first recognizes his Mother - the warm, loving woman who nourishes and cares for him. The Empress (3) represents the world of nature and sensation. A baby delights in exploring everything he touches, tastes and smells. He cannot get enough of the sights and sounds that enchant his senses. The next person the Fool encounters is the Father in the figure of the Emperor (4). He is the representative of structure 4

For me personally, Tarot is not a fortune-telling tool but more like a reflection of the past and presents of the person who is using it. Through this reflection, the card reader can analyse the situation and make future decisions more accurately. Learning the meaning of the pictures and symbols in different Tarot deck is an enjoyable process. Especially now when you can find different Tarot deck for almost any theme, topic and style, from Gothic, Ghosts and Spirit to Vampires and Harry Potter. The 2 Tarot decks I own are in absolutely opposite styles. One is the Shadowscape Tarot, a stunning Tarot deck from artist Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, with gorgeous watercolour fairy-like imagery in her unique flowing yet detailed style. The other is the Dead moon, a Royo’s artwork in East Asian post-punk gothic rock style that borrows imagery from Japanese samurai culture and imperial China, altogether with lots of blood, wild black hair, and intricate tattoos. And I love to spend time looking into their meaning whenever I can.

About the scent of buttered popcorn and red velvet armchairs

By Julia Felizitas Weyrauch When I was a child, I used to go with my parents to the movies. In the small town, where I grew up, the movie theater was rather minimalistic, with only one cinema hall and a very small counter for drinks and beverages. The owner of the movie theater was a likeable young fellow, who ran everything in the cinema. He sold tickets, sold beer and popcorn, he set up the movie projector and sound and he sold ice cream in the advertisement break before the movie started. In addition, he organized an outdoor cinema in the summer time, which was always sold out and where the whole audience played bingo to win prizes. I loved to go to the movies, since it was something special for me. Even though the movie theater was nothing exceptional, there was no broad variety of movies and most of the movies were displayed at least three weeks after their release date, I loved the excitement before, the dark cinema hall and the scent of popcorn. I liked to sit in those scruffy, large velvet armchairs, which were probably soaked with a mixture of lemonade, beer and old popcorn. I still remember, how I had to learn to tie my shoes to see Disney’s Lion King in the cinema and how I shared the thrill with Simba and his friends.

I’ve been to many different movie theaters in my life and the nostalgia affects me every time. When I moved from my home town in Middle Germany to the North, I started to visit movie theaters in Berlin more often. There are still a lot of old movie theaters in Berlin, which focus on independent movies today. Most of the time they lack in newer technology, so you won’t be able to watch a new action movie in 3D probably. However, there’s no need to compensate, since the larger part of the audience happens to be there because of the romantic atmosphere and the good service. Movie theaters are perfect for romantic dates, due to their nostalgic atmosphere. However, it is not the best location for a first date, since you will not be able to talk much. If there is a bond between both, watching movies in movie theaters is certainly more romantic, than watching Netflix together.

The right choice of cinema and movies play an essential role for the outcome of the date. Cinemas should not be too overcrowded, for this reason I believe you should watch the premiere of the new Star Wars movie with your best friends instead of your date. Horror movies and crime are, if you like it or not, more recommendable for dates than romantic movies or comedies. Nerve-racking moments will enhance the chances of holding hands and snuggling. 

With the start of my studies in Northern Germany, I began to see the other side of the coin. I applied for a service job in the local movie theater, selling popcorn, selling tickets and cleaning the mess up of hundreds of visitors daily. The worst part of it was scrubbing the popcorn machine, which was completely covered in a sugar and fat blend. The movie theater belonged to a chain of German cinemas and most of the movies projected were produced for the masses. However, my colleagues and the local managers were kind and in the breaks between the movies we enjoyed our free time together. In addition, I had the option to watch some movies for free, together with a friend. Regardless of these opportunities, I went back to Berlin or Hamburg occasionally to watch independent movies.

Vaguely Mexican Shrimp Tacos

Continuing our theme of Mexican cuisine, here’s a recipe for Vaguely Mexican Shrimp Tacos.

If you’re anything like me, and have troubles when it comes to anything more complex than boiling water, ask for a grown-up to help you. If you have no proper grown-up role models in your life, let liquid confidence guide you instead.

What to do: 1. Heat the stove to medium-high. Drink a shot of tequila while waiting.

2. Mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, milk and cumin together in a bowl.

3. Ponder about ordering pizza instead. Remember how you already bought all the ingredients and give up on your delicious dreams.

4. Shred the lettuce.

5. Combine butter and garlic. Pour into the pan.

6. Place the shrimp on the pan. Add the taco spice mix. Salt the spiced shrimp lightly. Place excess salt on your hand, lick, and down with a shot of tequila.

7. Remove shrimp from pan; place tortillas there instead. Fry for about 30 seconds on each side.

8. Feel regret towards not buying a thai cube. Try to numb the regret with a shot of tequila.

9. Place the shrimp, shredded lettuce, salsa and the unholy matrimony of mayonnaise, sour cream and others onto the tortillas.

10. Take a picture of your food and share it with all your friends on a social media platform of your choice. Feel bad about the lack of attention the picture got and eat the food for comfort. If that doesn’t help, have a shot of tequila. Repeat if needed.

Text by Setareh Nourzad The Tears of My Soul is based on the real-life story of former North Korean special agent, called Kim Hyun Hee. She was basically kidnapped straight from university to join the camp when she was only 18 years old, where people were trained to become special agents and to fight against South Korea.

In the camp people were taught to drive different kind of cars in areas, handle different weapons, to spy, to steal, and to kill people in certain situations. During her time in the camp, she was not allowed to contact her family, or visit them. She had to stay there the whole time, and if someone tried to escape the camp, their punishment would be very humiliating both to the attendee and their family. After Kim Hyun Hui was so called “graduated” from this camp, her very first job was to go undercover to Europe, and pretend that she is a Japanese tourist, and she had to plant a bomb into the Korean Air Flight 858 on November 1987. She was brainwashed by the mentors from the camp into believing that to get peace between North Korea and South Korea, this must be done, and after all this she will become a national hero.

This book gives a very clear image of how closed North Korean society is, an individual person doesn’t have any chance to decide for themselves what they want or not, they are not allowed to think by themselves, they should just obey the rules given by the leader and live certain kind of lif e. 

When one hears Swedish being spoken around them, the movement of the sentences resemble the fluttering of butterflies on see-saws. When it comes to metal music however, the Swedes can pack a rusty punch. The point may not be so valid in this situation as the band Dark Tranquillity sings in English for the duration of their 2016 release – Atoma. Dark Tranquillity belongs to a rather contradictory genre of music known as Melodic Death Metal. Accompanying the growling vocals, the listener is presented with a melodic backing. A beautiful painting comprised of only dark shades. In a way it can be quite relaxing. The grinding of infuriating stress into a contemplative solace.

Dark Tranquillity has been recording since 1989 with a total of 11 studio albums, including Atoma, under their belt. Their original moniker of the band was Septic Broiler. Thankfully they had a few brainstorming sessions and adjusted the name, members, and musical styling to something more becoming.

I am a student contaminated by the condition known as bipolar disorder.

Drastic shifts between energetic, talkative, and manic highs are countered by the dangerously deepest sorrows. I often question the point of life in the most morose manner. This album speaks to me in such fanciful truth that it is essentially a soliloquy.

After listening through a second time I reminded why I do not necessarily prefer metal music over other genres.

The melodic aspect gives many points in favor of Atoma but in the end it starts to blend together. While I can say that I enjoyed the chord progressions and melodic arpeggios thrown in every couple minutes, it is difficult to recommend the album. It is worth a listen but unless you have a mindgasm every time you cue up some metal, it should not be the first album you purchase. If you have some extra euros lying around your room, then pick it up. Otherwise, borrow it from a friend, or if you have no friends, then borrow it from a streaming service. 

As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers - and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.

The movie is based on the story “The Story of my Life” by Ted Chiang and explains what Hawkeye does between Avengers movies. 

Jyn Erso, a Rebellion soldier and criminal, is about to experience her biggest challenge yet when Mon Mothma sets her out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

With help from the Rebels, a master swordsman, and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks.

This movie stands apart from the other Episodes as it is set between Episode III and IV and will hopefully fill a few of the many plotholes from the previous movies. 
