Today we have prepared a rather interesting and useful issue for our readers. So, let's go!

First of all let's welcome our new member in Insider team Vlada Polishchuk. We wish you good luck in writing articles! In this issue she will tell a little about herself.

Next, our fashion expert Marian Keinan will talk about how the clothes we wear effect our mood, emotions, share fashion tips and give her own explanation what is meant by the phase "welldressed".

In the cooking block today Ikram Bechari share with us a surprisingly simple to prepare, delicious, and most importantly low-calorie cake without added sugar. Sounds great, doesn't it?

In the category "Let's go to the movies". Our movie reviewer Ave-Liis Kobak will tell you about the upcoming top 5 novelties in the world of cinema that are worth going to the cinema and give a brief review about each of them.

TIPS/TRICKS

Do not get distracted!

In the age of technology and a great deal of information, people often cannot concentrate on their tasks, and in the future, they may even not achieve their set goals.

However, do not worry, it can be fixed!

Let's figure out what concentration is?

You can find the following definition in the dictionary - "Concentration is the state of being concentrated, exclusive attention to one object".

In simple words, when you give up doing other things in order to complete a specific task, and all your thoughts are engaged only with it.

What will help you?

Here are the basic rules for you: 1. Sort all your tasks into two groups, the first one will contain 1-4 of the most important for you, and the second one will contain all secondary ones, and you should exclude temporarily all tasks from the second list in order to complete the most necessary first.

This will help you focus on the necessary things more effectively.

2. Multitasking is a myth, so you only need to be busy with one task.

3. Learn to organize your time. When making a daily plan, you should write down tasks, which require a long period of time, in the morning.

This can be anything that requires "hard work".

In the evening, add short-term tasks to the remaining "vacant places" of the schedule.

Hello! My name is Eva Morovshchik and I am from Saint Petersburg, Russia. I cannot imagine my life without traveling. Experience of living abroad was one of the biggest dreams in my life. That’s why I am studying now in XAMK and cannot wait till the moment when I will move to Kuovola.

Hello, my name is Ave-Liis Koobak and I am 19.

I am originally from Estonia, but I have lived in Finland most of my life. Over the years I have gained many scholarships and experience in working. I like to think I am hard working and I have accomplished what I want. I have always loved animals and we have always had an animal in the house since I can remember.

I’m fan of reading books, for the last 3 years I have read over 150. That is why I become the member of the Doris day (this is a nice cafe in my city) Book club since 2018. In addition, I started to write small reviews on what i’ve read and began my own instagram blog! I enjoy writing there my notes with feelings or telling what’s happening in my life, it’ s a kind of meditation proccess. Also, I’ve written several stories and hope that some of them will be published in Russia.

Another great side of my life is cooking. I am a fan of baking sweets. So in the 11th grade I started to work in a small local coffee shop.

Actually there I get acquainted with the proprietress, who motivates me to study business. When I was young I was up in the air about my futures career and life. The owner of the cafe showed me that own business is the best way for me. To be honest, not only her: my dad runs his own business. Based on this example, I understand that enterprise is the best way to reach all my targets and wishes.

My hobbies include staying home and watching a lot of series. And I mean a lot. I have also picked up some exercise to pass the time and get healthier. I enjoy a quiet stay-at-home night with some close friends or alone and maybe watching a movie.

I feel like we can always be busy and do things outside of home, but we sometimes forget to just pause and look at what we have home, whether it would be family, a roommate or just you.

I think I am an approachable person. I try to treat people as equal and I don’t tend to judge others, since we all make mistakes sometimes. I like to get things done on my own and I feel most efficient when I am alone and listening to Lo-fi hip hop music in the background, but I still appreciate others and their help. Sometimes we are better in a group trying to figure things out.

I am very interested in reaching the highest level of life, I like to search information about the impact of food, sleep and etc. that could help me to make my life better.

I’m happy and proud of being in INSIDER magazine team. I’m sure it would be a wonderful experience.

FASHION

Dress good, feel good.

We have all at some point felt better when we dressed well. Going to a special event and putting clothes that you like or just having comfortable and clean clothes lifts the mood for anybody. With a better mind, you become more confident and are more likely to treat others around you better and you are more likely to succeed at school or your job. We must also take it into an account that some people work in jobs or study at schools that require a certain dress code, and this limits your creativity in dressing. However, these tips can be used outside work or school.

Dressing well does not mean following the latest fashion trends and constantly buying new clothes.

The idea is to wear clothes that you find comfortable and are flattering to you. That can be your favorite scarf or your most comfortable jeans. Remember to always consider buying Second-hand if that option is available for you. Dressing well means different things for different people, but here are few clothing tips that will lift your mood.

Nice pair of earrings Earrings can lift the mood and compliment the whole look. They exist in different colors and shapes. Stud earrings are small and are fit for the people that like to keep it simple. Teardrop or chandelier earrings fit

beautifully with dresses. Remember that, ear piercing is not necessary for you to wear earrings since there are many kinds of clip earrings in the market.

Comfortable shoes There is a reason why many people wear running shoes to almost any occasion. Running shoes are often very comfortable and your feet sit well in them.

When buying shoes, it is important to invest in quality because good shoes also affect your posture. Measure your feet before going shopping and remember to try them with the socks you usually use at the store.

Additionally, walk a little bit around the store to see how they feel. With these tips, you will avoid buying bad shoes for you.

With the above clothing pieces, you can start your day with a good feeling. Especially in Finland where winters can be dark and depressing, a pair of colorful earrings can lift anyone's mood. Additionally, a nice warm sweater is a must when living in Finland. Thrift stores are full of quality clothing pieces at affordable pricing.

My name is Ikram, I’m 22 years old, and I’m an international freshman at XAMK – Kouvola, where I’ve never been. Also, I’ve never been part of magazine stuff or a writer before, so it’s the first time. I’m originally from Tangier, Morocco.

It is in the north of Africa and slightly above 5400 kilometers away from Finland.

My name is Marian Keinan and I currently live in Helsinki. I am originally from Ethiopia, but I grew up in Finland, so I speak in addition to Finnish four other languages and these are Amhara, Somali and English. Before this study program, I have been living and studying for a few years in the Netherlands. It was an experience that has taught me to be independent and persistent. Additionally, I learned how someone’s upbringing and culture shape their perception. It was an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I’ve studied three years of General Management at a business school back home, but I wasn’t satisfied with what I’ve learned in that program because it was very general, and I wanted something more impressive in my career. In contrast, I improved my personality and soft skills, thanks to the social community projects and humanitarian projects that I got to organize back then as one of my subjects.

After three complete successful years, I took a long period to step back and weight up new decisions in my life and my studies, but at the same time, I decided to improve my skills in foreign languages and learning new others. Importantly, by learning new languages, I became more open-minded and ready to take new challenges in my life. Thus, I’ve chosen Finland as a destination to study Digital International Business.

I’m a bit sad because I can’t move to Kouvola for the moment because of this pandemic situation happening around the globe. However, I’m looking forward to learning Finnish as well and discovering this country’s culture.

I can’t describe how delighted I am by joining Insider Magazine and sharing my articles with you.

After coming back to Finland, I have been working in sales and my interest in that world grew because of it and this was one of the reasons I applied for this program. In addition to working in sales, I have also started working on my own small skincare company. It focuses on natural ingredients that are from Africa.

My hobbies include ballroom dancing, editing videos on imovies, nature hiking, and following fashion and makeup. I specifically like to read fashion magazines such as vogue and essence.

I focus on recycled clothes because I find the current fashion industry to be very unethical (child labor, pollution, and overproduction). With makeup, I prefer it to be cruelty-free and as natural as possible.

When it comes to my personality, I am a very team-oriented, hard worker, easy to get along with, and considerate person. I work hard towards the team's common goal and do my best to give a good outcome.

LITERATURE

Perfect books for autumn!

Autumn is a perfect time for reading because of bad weather, studying in a university and having more free time for staying at home at all. The weather is much worse than in summer. Long sunny days are replaced by awful rain and horrible wind, which make spending time outside uncomfortable. So decision to go home earlier than expecting and reading a book, while sipping hot chocolate with marshmallow, sounds great.

Best books for autumn are those books, which contain interesting plot. Characters of the book and story need to catch the readers attention and involve in a process as much as is possible, so they could fall out from the reality. Here is my personal list of 3 books, which I can recommend everybody for cozy autumn reading.

1. The Secret History, Donna Tartt This book is the first novel written by this author but one of my favorites. Donna Tartt has also written an amazing story called «Goldfinch», but I can’t say that it will be interesting for everybody because the text has many references to art. Let’s turn to our muttons, the narrative of «The Secret History» takes place at a Hampden College and telling us a story about 6 students. At first they were looking like an average students but one day near the Hampden occurred the murder. The novel is written from the first place, so reader can fell the specter of emotions quite well. Also the language is starling because the author is really talented women.

2. The diary of a book seller, Shaun Bythell The author owns The Bookshop, Wigtown Scotland's largest second-hand bookshop. Shaun Bythell shows us a real life of a bookseller through one year with all its bad sides. Many people convinced, that having your own bookshop is very romantic, all customers are nice and you have a lot of free time to read all books that you are 8

selling. But the truth is not so lovely. The diary format present to the reader everything from the first hand. I really recommend to read this book because it’s full of the authors selfirony and interersting remarks about peoples behavior in a shop.

Also there is second book called «Confessions of a Bookseller» and one more «Seven Kinds of People You Find in Bookshops», which will be on sale this November.

3. Laterna Magica, Ingmar Bergman The last book, that I wanted to recommend is quite different from others because of the author, he is not a writer. Ingmar Bergman is a famous Swedish film director, known by the films called Persona, The Silence, Wild Strawberries and etc.

«Laterna Magica» is his autobiography. The book will be interesting not only for those ones, who adore Ingmar Bergmans movies, because text is full of honest thoughts and is highly personal, that’s why it is a wonderful amusement.

Vlada Polishchuk Hello!

I am really thrilled to be a part of the "Insider" and more important to be a part of this fascinating university.

My name is Vlada and I am from Saint Petersburg, Russia. I am 18 years old.

From early childhood, I have developed in different directions. My musical experience has started at a music school and continued until today's up-to-date songwriting courses.

Also, at this time I was professionally engaged in swimming for 6 years and after that I did 3 years of athletics, especially running. My school specializes in the advanced study of mathematics and physics and I got interested in these subjects. As for traveling, It is a big part of my life, which helped me expand my understanding of people, culture and customs.

In my opinion, a person with a multifaced experience is suitable for business, that's why I'm here.

Graduating from school I realized that the choice of the further path is more complex than it was expected by me. I chose business as this area covers approximately all or maybe all fields of human interactions and it teaches you to find and distribute different kinds of resources, they can also be your personal ones for self-realization.

RECIPE

Sugar-Free cake

Maybe for some of you, the idea of being able to bake sounds a little scary, but this is a super easy & healthy recipe.

Today’s recipe demands ingredients that are affordable and available everywhere in Finland.

As the winter gets closer, I thought maybe that I should share with you a cake recipe. A very moist cake that you can have with a cup of coffee or whatever you prefer. And the thing that you might all be interested in is that the recipe is sugar-free. It is naturally sweetened because dates are its main ingredient. So please gather the ingredients and follow the simple steps below.

Ingredients Two eggs A pinch of salt ½ teaspoon of vanilla powder A pinch of cinnamon 250g unboned dates ½ liter warm milk (of your choice) 140g flour 10g baking powder This is how to make it Step 1 In a bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt, ½ teaspoon of vanilla powder, and a bit of cinnamon. Whisk until you see some little air bubbles on the top of the mix Step 2 Mix warm milk and the dates using an electric blender till you get a homogenous liquid Step 3 Let the milk-dates mix cool for a couple of minutes Step 4 Pour the milk-dates mix in the bowl where you have mixed the eggs (step1) and start mixing them all using a manual whisk Step 5 Sift the flour and the baking powder into the previous mix and whisk once again Step 6 Pour the final mixture into a cake pan/tin Step 7 Put the cake into the oven and cook it for 25-30 minutes at 180°C (from the top and the bottom) Let the cake cool for 3-4 hours before serving it and BON APPETIT. That’s all for today, get your aprons!

MOVIES Movies to be excited about!

“What movies will be coming out at the end of this year?” you may ask. And I am here to give you the answer. Here are some I picked up!

We start October with the movie BIOS directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who also directed Game of Thrones episode “Battle of the Bastards. The director is bringing back Tom Hanks. He is going to play a sickly inventor, who is also the last person left on a postapocalyptic earth, and he creates a robot to protect the life of his dog when he dies and keep them both company while they are alive.

This next one I am personally excited for. It’s called Death on the Nile and it’s directed by Kenneth Branagh and he will actually be starring in the lead of Hercule Poirot. Hercule Poirot is a Fictional character from Belgium who was created by Agatha Christie. Poirot was first heard in the book The Mysterious Affair at Styles. But back to the movie. They have not said much about the movie, but as Hercule Poirot is a detective we will be seeing his brilliant detective work solving a murder.

For Marvel fans I have good news. In November we will be diving into the story of Black Widow. The main character will be played by Scarlet Johansson. It’s said that Natasha Romanoff aka the black Widow will be confronting dark parts of her ledger and it’s said that she will have to fight rumors about her past ties. She will have to fight the force that is trying to bring her down and she has to deal with her past as a spy and broken relationships before she Became an Avenger.

Soul a second Pixar movie of the year, is directed by Pete Doctor. The main character is played by Jamie Foxx, who is supposed to be a jazz-loving middle school teacher. His soul is separated from his body when he is in an accident. The soul will be going to a soul training center to be prepared for newborn babies. There the jazz-loving teachers soul finds a soul in training (voiced by Tina Fey) who has been trapped there for years.

And for last, but not least. Free Guy Supposed to be opening on December 11th Starring one of my favorite actors so far Ryan Reynolds, who is going to play the main character in a videogame. The main character is a nondescript bank teller non player character also knowns as NPC. The videogame is said to be violent and a open world video game.

Suddenly Guy, the bank teller becomes self-aware and decides to take matters to his own hands. Rotten tomatoes say we can expect a lot of ironic, self-referential humor with over-the-top action shenanigans when Reynolds is involved.
