THE ABC PARTY AWAITS What do garbage bags, bed sheets and old newspapers have in common? Not much, most people would say. But all of these things have a lot in common with duct tape, bubble wrap, Ikea bags and towels. None of these aforementioned things are clothes. Very sound observation, I know, I do pride myself on having rather well developed deductive skills. Jokes aside, the relevance for all those things NOT being clothes becomes clear with Kupla‘s next student party just around the corner. And the theme of this party? ABC: Anything But Clothes. I guess we can all be glad that they didn‘t wait for this theme until it was actually winter when you‘d rather wrap yourselves in woollen sweaters and Gore-Tex instead of ill-fitted bubble wrap shirts and jute bag skirts. The fashion designers and stylists should get kicks out of the challenge at hand maybe even come up with creative ways to recycle last week‘s trash. Somebody tell Patteri about this, quickly, there could be the next Alexander McQueen of thermal blanket fashion, Blue Tack and beer mats just across from their office. For all those who are less impressed by the idea of potentially „dressing up“ in body paint and pastries - you can still wear the student overalls. If you like this lovely fake ginger, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. If you are not a fan of Woody Allen, not crazy about rom-coms or the lovely fake ginger, there is something extra that might make you intrigued. The costumes and the scenery are absolutely exquisite. Everything, from the music, to the dresses, the jewellery, hairstyles and make up perfectly matches the era it has been set in (the 1920‘s). If you like getting slightly nostalgic, with a twist of magic in the air, this one is a winner!
