Even though we’re already past Halloween, I’d like to tell you one last spooky story, possibly the scariest of them all. After reading this magazine you’ll go on your merry way. Eventually you’ll head to the store. Not necessarily today, but soon, nonetheless. And when you go, they will already be there. At first you might not notice them, but they will notice you. They’re everywhere. Hiding on the shelves; lurking between the aisles; silently standing in the display windows. They will come for you, and when you finally notice them, it will already be too late. You can’t run. There’s no escape. Wherever you go, they will be there. The Christmas merch. Chocolate Santas staring you with their cold, dead tinfoil eyes. Bargain bins full of CDs featuring the most worn-out Christmas carols performed by ear-shredding children’s choirs. Tie-in
chocolate calendars that somehow miss both the tone of the original work, as well as the meaning of Christmas. Every item in the store, from beer to toilet paper, get an inevitable Christmas version, with bright red packaging, new cinnamon flavour, and an additional creepy elf slapped on the tin. You feel a cold sweat on your neck. Your mind is in shambles, torn between shocked disbelief and panic: surely they can’t be here so early, at this time of the year? But there’s no escape, not for the next few months. The only way to avoid the mall Santas and vomit-inducingly coloured electric lights is to lock yourself into your apartment, never get out of the warm comfort of your bed, and if you dare, possibly use your smartphone to leaf yourself through this new issue of Insider, which is completely Christmas-free. Enjoy while it lasts.

The Abroaders –
We inspire and ignite WHY WE ARE DOING THIS We want to see the world and we want to give others a chance to see the world. It should not matter where you come from, whether you are a man or a woman, whether you are rich or poor, whether you have a year to travel or just one weekend. Traveling abroad should always be an option, as it is an essential part of learning and evolving. Evolving as a person, as a student, as an entrepreneur, as a professional – as a human being.
Just a few days before the Autumn break, you can see that there were a black board standing in the first floor lobby. It was written: “Before I die, I want to…in…”. That black board was included in The Abroaders’s first ever campaign. Anyone who was interested could write about a particular activities that they really wanted to do in a particular place on the globe. It could be any kind of activity and also any kind of place, however exotic. By encouraging people to write their dreams on our board, we get to know what we should provide them and also help them really think about their dreams, realize what they really want and be more determined to make their dreams come true.
HOW WE DO IT We are the ambassadors of our own organisation. Our goal next year is to land ourselves in a far-flung country and use our very own stories to inspire other fellow students. What we are attempting to do is to establish partnership with international education organisations so that we can send students on short-term abroad to participate in educational activities without any charge.
WHO WE ARE We call ourselves The Abroaders because we build our fortune not by chasing the known traditional paths, but by aspiring to gain life-changing experiences in places we have never been to and inspire other students to do so.
Through information updated on our Facebook page, face-to-face talks, class presentations and future events, we hope to make our spirit reach out to KyAMK students, igniting their energy to follow our steps! Our ambition is to provide opportunities not only to students at KyAMK but also to the abroaders all over the world! Let’s get on fire with us and write your own unforgettable stories! Text: Lan Le | Photo: Lan Le
WHAT WE DO Life is short and obviously youth is not forever. Following the intuition of this as-old-as-the-hills wisdom, we make efforts to connect KyAMK students with short-term educational opportunities abroad. The students are to delve into new cultures at the same time with doing something meaningful.

CultureLESS VAGABOND. In a multicultural environment people tend to say “We all the same”. It is noble attempt to avoid discrimination, violation etc. But the matter of it actually becoming the same in a matter of culture.
reason of losing culture is the need to assimilate to international environment. People anyway refuse from some of their national commonplace things. Russians, for instance, tend to express emotions less.
To start with, what is actually a culture? It is a pattern of thinking, setting of life priorities, and form of communication manner. Culture is a trace of place, where person was born. Culture is behavior as well.
Doesn’t it influence on individuality or mind independence? Unfortunately, it does. Even though society is making a great effort to reduce the cultural destruction, and people’s rights are becoming respected more than before. All nations are paid attention now. However, this is not enough.
What does culture mean to people? It creates the sense of home. Culture burns life views. It makes people UNIQUE, different.
The whole society cannot manage save the culture. It is saturated with so many of them. Keeping the culture is up to individual himself. It is about being different, and never the same. It is hard. Really hard. But no worse than being faceless person.
Nowadays culture is being destroyed. People start forgetting that they are originally not the same. They try to be or seem different. The point is to get rid of inequality between individuals. But do you think that destroying of personality leads to social justice? If only everyone starts being a lifeless grey-minded individual like in Orwell’s ‘1984’. Another
Overall, it is an important issue nowadays. Everyone needs to think about it. Text: Ekaterina Volkova

What difficulties have you faced during working on this app? Lack of time I think, because we are doing a double degree so we have a lot of things to be done.
ideas and hard work. I have the chance to meet and interview team winner “Avalank”; Alexander, Ivan and Micheal. Hello guys, first of all congratulation with your success at the Stage event, I would like to know more about your ideas.
You are doing a double degree? Yes, so we have to travel from Finland and Russia quite a lot.
Well, “Activee” is an application that allows you to set goals and reach it, for example if you want to quit smoking, the application remembers your goal and each time you skip smoking it gives you points.”
You are amazing, thank you for your time and good luck on your project.
That’s an interesting, but how did you guys come up with it? We were actually sitting and chatting about something and then Micheal said hey we could make an application that helps people tracking on their life goals. And we have been working on it since this spring, 2015.
Dear readers, if you have time have a look on this link of team “avalank” below. These guys are intelligent, hard working, friendly and worth every click on this. https://activee.avalank.com/ Text: Hong Truong | Photo: Nguyet Tran Minh (Patteri)
You have three members in your group, so what are you in charge of in developing this application? So I (Alex) am in charge of web application, Ivan is working with Iphone&Apple application and Micheal is responsible for Android. Your idea is helpful and interesting, but tell me a little bit about you, you are Russian right? How did you meet and what are you studying? We are from Saint Petersburg, and we are studying IT, and we are exchange students in KyAMK in Kotka. We have been studying together so I guess it not that hard for us to work together. You guys decided to go to Finland for an exchange year? Why did you choose Finland? Ivan loves Finland and so do we, we just wanted to study in Finland and I think that’s the biggest reason.

FRIED CHEESE STICKS.
Coffe
Ingredience : 200g flour 50-60g sugar 15g yeast 25ml cooking oil 125ml milk 150g ground meat (or more depending on how much love do you spend on meat :>)
3 eggs One half of an onion Salt, pepper, cooking oil A rolling pin, a steamer, a pan and baking paper (small size which fits the cupcake or muffin) How to do it: 1. Let’s make the dough first! Mix the yeast and milk together and then mix them both with flour, sugar and cooking oil. You can either mix them by hands or with the help of the mixer. Then knead by hands for about 2-3 minutes until you see nice smooth dough. Give the dough some time to rise, remember to cover it with plastic wrap or a moist towel for 40 minutes. 2. Now, get the pan on the stove. Put the cooking oil and the onion in the pan and then the meat. Don’t forget to season it nicely! Oh and of course, remember to boil the eggs and then cut each of them into 4 pieces. 3. After the rise, divide the dough into small pieces depending on how big you want your bun to be. Use the rolling pin to flatten the small dough. Then put the mixture of meat and a quarter of an egg into the flattened dough, and then gently make the dough cover all the ingredients inside. Keep doing these actions until you don’t have any pieces left. 4. Finally, fill the steamer with water and then out the buns in the steamer. Wait for about 20-25 minutes for the buns to be perfectly cooked. Hope you will enjoy these lovely buns! A meaty steamed bun is not a bad idea for breakfast, is it?

Second Diary Entry The Strength Level Also Rises
I have being going to the gym 4-5 times a week even over the autumn break, I have noticed that am not losing weight but not gaining either. So it is working, I have started to lift more which great, I have noticed that my belly is a little smaller, the belly buster work great for that. I`m push myself a little more each day that am at the gym. Am still finding it hard to have 5 meals a day which is driving me mad, I can just about eat 3 time a day, which to me that is normal. I am having more fruit and veg drink which are really nice. The next step for me is to push harder more to try and get to the goals that I set at the beginning. So am getting to my goal slow. I hope everyone is enjoying what we are doing and don’t forget to follow me on IG,Twitter, vine
Spending a little over two weeks in the good care of your parents, feeding you with everything and anything you normally cannot get because of non-availability in stores, sleeping in because you don’t have to be anywhere and spending most days in close proximity to the fireplace because it is raining outside is not a good setup to actually starting work outs when you get back. The last week I have been going every night and actually feel like I’m getting somewhere. That said I feel like my strength level is for the first time not negative 5 anymore but closing in to somewhere where lifting a pack of flour is not an act of physical exhaustion anymore. Also cardiowise I start to enjoy cycling more. What needs to be improved at this point is definitively flexibility meaning more Yoga and stretching to be done starting tonight. It is going to be a long way but eventually I’ll get there.

A big thank you once again goes out to Niina, the owner of Funfit, who currently is also studying at Kyamk. We wish you all the best for the remainder of your studies!

KILLING JOKE: PYLON Genre: Post-Punk, Industrial Metal Released: October 23rd, 2015
Producer: Tom Dalgety
Despite having basically invented the industrial music genre and also influencing bands like Nine Inch Nails, Metallica and Nirvana, the British Killing Joke has never achieved mainstream recognition excluding one single in 1985. On the other hand, the band has never seemed too disgruntled about it; having chugged forward like a ghost train full of angered spirits of punk rockers spewing out social commentary beyond the grave for over 30 years now, with no signs of stopping. With each record the band seems to shift into higher gear, slowly turning their industrial-flavoured post-punk into a feverish locomotive of death; the vocalist Jaz Coleman growling criticism at modern society, accompanied by heavily distorted cold guitars, fierce tribal-influenced drums and atonal synths. However, for the last few albums the band seems to have stalled; stuck going around the same set of tracks over and over again, with no railroad switch in sight. On their fifteenth studio album Pylon their craft has become routined and listless. The band still storms on with their usual vim and vigor, but like in marrying one’s cousin, there’s something uncomfortably familiar about the whole process. The songs sound so similar to the content of their previous albums that I actually had to repeatedly check my Spotify wasn’t on shuffle. The subject material is also interchangeable, with the song titles like “War On Freedom”, “I Am The Virus” and “New Cold War” seemingly conjured by blindly grabbing a handful of Fridge Poetry: Punk Edition magnet pieces and slapping them randomly on the table. Even the album cover image, consisting of the titular radio towers, recycles the theme from 2010’s Absolute Dissent. Though I do want to give this cover credit for arranging the towers like a nice kaleidoscopic star.
tion, creating a sound more reminiscent of the band’s eighties material. On their fifteenth studio recording Killing Joke seems to be on complete autopilot, with the result being adequate, but like the American easter egg market after Kinder got banned, completely void of surprises. If you’re new to the band, this album is as good place to start as any. However, if you’ve listened to any of their albums from the past ten years, Pylon doesn’t really offer anything new.

Only a few tracks manage to carve out their own identities: the opening number “Autonomous Zone” creates a great juxtaposition with its energetic instrumentation and robotic choruses; “New Jerusalem” is elevated above the rest with its ferocious drumwork. Interestingly, among all the aggression and speed, the softer and more somber tracks stand out as the brightest: “Euphoria” gives the spotlight to long vocal notes, while “Big Buzz” tones down the guttural growling and the guitar distor-

Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller Director: Sam Mendes Writer: Too Many People Starring: Daniel Craig, Voldemort, Moriarty, Wiener Walzer, Monica Bellucci, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux Rating: Secret agents has to hunt down secret evil organisation that is going after world domination in one form or another and has to ruin their day by interfering with their evily plans in order to assure humanity‘s well-being. Sounds familiar - if I could just remember where I’ve heard this before… Of course this time it is not going to be one of those 08/15 villains but the ultimate one that makes his predecessors look like annoyed infants in a kindergarten sandbox swatting away at a bunch of ants with their toy shovel. In some way that is yet another reflection of what is happening to a variety of serials - every next threat/villain/impending peril has to be worse and more impossible to solve than the previous (see Dr. Who after Moffat took over and DC movies in general). It’s too bad too, as the movie itself is quite beautiful to watch even though the plot develops quite slowly and the whole thing could have been cut down to about an hour of material. That said, after about 5 minutes of movie the viewer gets treated with another 5 minutes of credits and Sam Smith singing. It was still better than Adele’s Skyfall theme song, I suppose. The whole thing had the appeal of a noughties R&B music video avec some Japanese hentai par excellence. Die hard fans of the Bond movies won’t be disappointed though. It has all the classics: A chase on foot, a chase by car, explosions, a fight in a flying object, a fight on a train, fancy evening wear, fight in fancy evening wear, nonchalant walking in well-fitted suit, romantic side-plot, characters who get referred to by single letters and Vodka Martinis. It is an overall pretty movie but nothing you’d crave to watch twice. Text: Sarah Rosenthal – 10 –
