EDITORIAL About Autumn I think that we all understand that after such pleasant and sunny summer months, it is quite difficult to accept the fact that autumn is finally here. Doesn’t it always sound depressing and dull whenever someone mentions autumn? Well most of you might agree to this but I believe contrary to popular belief, autumn is actually not that dull and boring as it sounds. Even though the leaves and the flowers start shedding themselves in this season and it appears that nature is going on hibernation itself, but on the other hand, at the same time, the university and our city gets its life back, with people coming back to resume or, in some cases start a fresh life as a student. Since, autumn marks our semester beginning this issue is all about the students, as I’ll be telling you about the fun that our new students had in their 2nd week here at the Latupirtti cabin in Valkaela. Arian is back again with a new and interesting student story this week. All the sushi lovers would be excited when they read about the recipe for “Student Sushi” brought to you by Anna.
Muhammet will share about the birthday anniversary of our favourite friendly-neighborhood shopping mall Veturi. Also, like many of us had a chance to experience something great this summer, Lidiia would be sharing about one of her experiences in Crimea. Since the days are already getting shorter and the wind is picking up the chill, Nikita would be sharing his critical opinion about the new horror flix IT 2, so get ready to be scared. Now that everyone is coming back to the student regime which not only includes studies but in fact the most important part of student life, reuniting with friends, making new ones and having fun together while both working and partying, so let’s have a different mindset about this unique-yet-unusual season which brings balance back in our lives. I hope our Insider team keeps you entertained and aware throughout this time. Enjoy!

EVENT HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO VETURI One of the most important assets of our city, Veturi, had celebrated it’s 7th birthday last weekend and Insider has taken the opportunity to give you the insights of the mall. The weekend was prepared for a long time and when as we asked to the manager, Jari Koistinen, it was a satisfiying birthday party to them with the 40.000 visitors. Celebrations started on Friday with the hosting of Junksi Hannikainen from 11 AM. Lucky dip games and many activities took place and of course discounts on the stores while there was games for all ages to keep children entertained for the day. The star of the day, Danny, came to the stage at 6 PM to give an amazing first day to the event. For the people who does not know, he is a Finnish singer with stage name Danny and he is holding one of the longest singing careers in Finland with over 50 years long. As Saturday comes, new celebrations were waiting for the visitors. Started with Junski Hannikainen at 11 AM again and kept going with candy rain and make up point for the people that want it. Truly, make up point was not only for women, it was for whoever wanted it. For

children today, there was wheel of fortune with amazing gifts and there was so many participants too. Children also enjoyed company of Tatu ja Patu. For the ones that don’t know what that means, it is a series of comic with two character in it named Tatu and Patu. And the star of the day was Ti-Ti Nalle with ville viking beside her. Ti-Ti Nalle is a finnish children show hosted by Riitta Korpela. As we talked about finnish students, the show was going on when they were children and it is still going on. Most people love the show. Final day of celebrations were hosted by Junski Hannikainen again starting at 12 AM and the was two important guests, Tuure Boelius and Nöpö-Felix. Nöpö started at 1 PM to give a meet and greet to his fans and Tuure came at 3 PM to meet his fans. The day held to a few folklore dances from india and a rap dance event with everyone in participation. Finishing the day with lucky dip games and discounts in shops. STUDENT STORY Henrik Dombovรกri
Hello! I'm Henrik. I grew up in a small town, about 100km from Budapest. Its population is about 30,000 and I liked it there. What is it like to grow up in Hungary? I enjoyed the small town, everything was a walking distance and I could just walk to school. All my friends lived close so we could hang out easily. After high school, moved to the Budapest for university studies. I've travelled a lot with my parents while growing up but still, that was a huge move for me. What can you tell us about the new student in a big city? Being in the capital city, two million people living there, life was more dynamic. I have been studying accounting for two years, but remembering all the fun we had traveling meeting new people. I realised that I want to be around people more than being in an office, then I moved to China. How was it in China? I was there for three months I worked there as a consultant on a summer camp. It was just great. The 1st summer on my own in a country
far away from my hometown. Pretty much we were leading activities and working with children like 24/7. It was challenging though. first days I was struggling with food and Chinese people don't really speak English. But it was definitely worth it to experience the new cultures and ways of living. After coming back to Hungary I decided not to continue accounting, so just took the semester off to reflect what do I want. I took a job cause I needed the money and then went back to study economic management. How and why XAMK? I was listening to music on Spotify then an add just came up, dig into it and here we are. I believe things happen for a reason. I have been working and saving for coming here. I wanted to be different and going back home with a degree you can have a decent job even more. What comes after studies? It's essential to know how to stand with people to use negotiation skills. I think you have to sell yourself out there. There are many people with the same qualities same education background but you have to find that thing that makes you different. And that's the thing I was looking to Xamk and in Finland and in China. I believe I will go back home and my parents business is a local so I might take it to the international level.

EVENT LATUPIRTTI DAYTRIP On 29th August 2019, the university organised a team building excursion for the new Digital International Business students, at the Latupirtti cabin near the lake Lappalanjärvi in Valkeala, that is about 20 min (17km approx.) from the campus.
Since the DIB19 group is comprised of students who are not only from Finland but also from different parts of the world, for most of them it was a totally new experience to have a session with the colleagues and teachers outside the normal school environment.

As it was just their second week of studies, not all the students had joined in yet, but still on the day of excursion, more than 30 students were able to make it as the school provided them cars for transportation. Being the last few days of summer, fortunately it was a sunny and pleasant day to spend the day in the forest by the lake. Many of the students were excited as soon as they saw the lake as the water was warm enough to enjoy swimming there. After the students were done witnessing the beautiful surroundings, they were instructed by the teachers to create as diverse and multinational groups as possible for the upcoming tasks that the lecturers had planned for them. This trip commenced their studies for the course of Intercultural commpetence which was conducted by both Sara Czabai and Slaveya H채m채l채inen. To begin with, the students had to go on a treasure hunt where everything in their lists had points and the team with the most, took the lead. Apart from chanterelle mushrooms, everything else was not much of a challenge for the students to find. This treasure hunt was followed by another task, which was about understanding the concept of personal space according to different cultures.
After these two tasks, the students were given some break during which they enjoyed grilling and having sausages. While most of the students were content after the sausages, some of them decided to take the proper use of the nice weather opportunity and go for a swim in the Lappalanj채rvi lake. As soon as the break was over, the teachers had planned the last task for the day in which the different teams were given basic material like ribbon, scotch, 20 pieces of spaghetti and a marshmellow. The task required the students to build a structure so that it is the more higher than others and could hold the marshmellow on top. The main purpose behind these tasks and this day was to teach the students about different skills required while working in a team and at the same time making it fun for them, which according to the feedback of the students and teachers, was succesful enough. “Swallow’s nest” As if hovering between the sky and the sea, there is an amazing castle built in the Gothic style - the Swallow's Nest. It has long become the most famous and most recognizable landmark of Crimea! It was built on the order of the German oil industrialist P. Steingel, who loved to relax in the Crimea - it was at his request that the castle acquired features of the Gothic style. A tall tower with sharp spires, battlements, lancet windows and doorways - everything here really resembles a medieval knight's castle.

“Koyashsky Lake” The unique natural attraction of the Kerch Peninsula is Koyashsky Lake. The pond is distinguished by an amazing colour of water, changing depending on the time of year from pale pink to saturated red. Koyash - translated by SUN. “Ai-Petri” Mountain The name Ai-Petri from Greek language translates as “St. Peter”. There are three versions of why the mountain bears such a name. The first in honour of the brave warrior Peter who saved people from the King of the Winds. Another legend tells of a couple in love who wanted to get married, but their parents were against their marriage. Then the guy and the girl decided that it was better to die together than to live separately with each other, and they decided to throw themselves off the mountain. Having overcome the difficult path uphill, they came to a rocky cliff. But it was so narrow that only one person could approach the cliff. The young guy Peter, first rushed down and crashed, and the girl, seeing a bloodied youth below, cried out “Ay Peter”. The more official version says that the mountain has such a name, thanks to the monastery of St. Peter, which was here in the Middle Ages and today is not preserved.

“Ghost Valley” (Demerdzhi) A cluster of bizarre cliffs on the western slope of the Demerdzhi massif. In Crimea, only there you can observe the natural phenomenon of the Broken ghost. With their forms, stone figures resemble the figures of people, animals, mysterious creatures, objects, and, depending on the time of day and lighting, their images change, giving observers the basis for imagination. A series of legends is associated with the Valley of Ghosts. According to one of them, long ago, the nomads who conquered the Crimea established a huge forge on the top of the Demerdzhi Mountain. There forged weapons to capture new lands and worked many slaves. The heat from this forge was supposedly so strong that gardens, streams and springs dried up from it. The young girl went up to the forge and began to ask the evil blacksmith-overseer to leave the mountain. The blacksmith killed the girl. After that, the mountain trembled and all the conquering villains turned to stones. The girl was also petrified. The rock with its profile can now be seen in the Valley of Ghosts.

RECIPE STUDENT’S SUSHI
Student life is tough and full of challenges. However, our ability to find a way out of any situation and always keeping our spirits high – help us to survive through semesters. Today you will learn how to make one of the most famous dishes of Japanese cuisine but in terms of poor student life. Steps:
Ingredients:
1) The most important step is making rice, it should be very fluff. To make rice of such consistency wash it before cooking and add water in the ratio 2:1. 2) While water is boiling, you can start cutting filling ingredients into long thin stripes. If you prefer peeled vegetables - remove the peel first. 3) After everything is done, place nori, shiny side down, on a bamboo sushi mat (In Japan people use special mats for forming rolls, but if you do not have it, then take a towel). 4) Then press the cooled rice on the nori, leaving some space from the edges. 5) Now it is time for filling! Line all chopped ingredients on top of rice. 6) Finally, using towel or bamboo mat, roll the nori into a tight roll.

½ kg of Japanese rice water 1 cucumber 1 carrot 1 sausage cheese 1 pack of nori (dried seaweed) sushi sauce according the taste
As an advice: can wait a few minutes to let rolls get sticky and juicy. You can experiment with different ingredients – be creative! And as a final step: just grab chopsticks and enjoy! Anna Ryndina

MOVIE REVIEW IS IT A GOOD MOVIE? In 21st century, horror is the worst genre if you use the MMtMM ratio (movies made to money made). Horrors used to be better, scarier and it brought emotions out of you using not only sudden BOO! moments. Those movies would make you afraid frame by frame. So, it was not “oops I shit my pants”, after somebody jumps at a character out of shadow; it was rather “oops my pants are full” after you do that gradually for as long as the movie goes. IT, the first part that premiered in 2017, was good in general. It wasn’t that old school horror, but it was a solid one, with plot, somewhat decent character arcs and it was, of course, scary. We mostly have Steven King to thank for it (see what I did there?). Now, the reports have said that Mr. King was less involved in the sequel production, so what do we have? We have those very kids from the 1st part, only they’ve grown up and moved on from their encounter with Pennywise. Well, it all happened twenty-seven years ago. And now, after a mysterious phone call, they need to gather again and stop the evil clown for good.

The biggest surprise here is performance by James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain. Knowing that the both actors are amazing, many people, author included, still felt that they might need a break after the horrible Dark Phoenix, where you could see that McAvoy just doesn’t want to act and Jessica’s character didn’t have anything to do, so she was kind of forgettable, too. However, here they proved that they are still amazing. The plot can be guessed after the first thirty minutes in, which is another problem that occurs to horror movies in general. It’s still decent, though (just can’t stop making those it-related puns). What’s amazing in this movie is a score. The music takes you back to the atmosphere of aforementioned old horrors, so we mostly have to thank Benjamin Wallfish, who didn’t have any big titles apart from IT and Blade Runner 2049, for having to wash our pants after the film. IT Chapter Two isn’t amazing. It isn’t very scary. Isn’t captivating and it definitely won’t be go down in history as a top tier horror movie. And yet, it’s a pleasurable nearly 3hour-long experience for viewers. Especially if they enjoy the genre. Nikita Munenko
