This Totem yearbook is a collection of memories. The place was Lenox, Massachusetts. The year was 2010. The magic was Mah-Kee-Nac.

Around camp it is quite common to see a group bring it in for a Mah-Kee-Nac on three. We are doing the same in this book. Get ready, we have MKN in three steps... Day to day life at MKN is spent on a campus. Many great events occur as a collective group. Ultimately, we are best described as a tightly-knit community with lots of camaraderie.

MKN is split into campuses (based on age),

and most of the summer is speant on campus.

We have three: Junior camp (8-10), lower senior camp (11-12), and upper senior camp (13-15).

Each has its own feel, vibe, and activities, which have been captured for you in this section.

Junior Camp

Tribal leaders:

Laura & T-Bod TJC had an awesome crew of leadership this summer from all the way across the pond. You can see the crew to the left enjoying some delicious beachfront cider reserved only for the poshest bourgeoise. They were recounting an awesome summer, full of the fun and zany antics expected from Junior Campus. has been in TJC for years. She brings great ideas and an awesome spirit to campus, and loves exploring all the best areas of Lenoxâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s historic district. She works as a teacher in England during the off season and thinks that all the fun of MKN is a great w ay to spend the summers! Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re grateful to have her! Laura

T-Bod is also from England, but New Jersey has developed a special place in his heart in recent years. Though he has loved his past few summers on LSR campus, T-Bod wanted a return to TJC. It was definitely a great idea; he was talking all summer about what a good time he was having in the fishbowl!

ver the years, many stories have circulated about the mysterious emptiness of bunk 6. Why would there be an empty bunk right in the middle of junior camp? Why do counselors advise campers to steer clear? What are those noises? Of course, the rumor mill is overrun with explanations. The stories have ranged from fairly mild to much more severe. For example, it’s been rumored that Mr. Tom wanted an indoor organic garden for more temperamental plants. Our sources have also told us that wild animals live there, or perhaps vampires, giants, or even zombie squirrels. Despite what you may think, though, these sources aren’t completely reliable. Only MKN Today! has the exclusive information and is able to reveal the truth about the desolate bunk 6. A couple of years ago, on a fateful Tuesday night, there was a storm (bizarre, right?). The wind howled, the rain lashed, and lightning lit up the sky. It looked like one of Tanglewood’s biggest firework shows ever. Camp had ended two days earlier, so there were not many people around. A few elite members of the staff dared to stay at camp late. One of these counselors (who can not be named for safety reasons) was walking along and saw some eerie, soft lights coming from bunk 6. This was strange, as nobody was living there at this point. What could it be? He stepped closer... and closer... and closer. He got to the first step of the bunk porch and continued to move quietly and slowly up the second and the third steps

towards the porch. He then stood deathly still and started to hear the sound of heavy footsteps gradually getting louder, and louder until they sounded like they were going to burst out of the door. He took a deep breath and swung the door open and there was nothing but a dark, old, smelly bunk. SUDDENLY the bunk freaked out. Lights flashing, toilets flushing, and windows shaking. This was the kind of thing that was too severe for a maintenance request. The petrified counselor ran from the bunk as fast as he could, never to return. The bunk is no longer used as it is clearly too scary. So, if you ever walk past bunk 6 and the lights are on - don’t stop to look. Just keep walking...

jake, vicki, barry Jake is a native of Washington state who has spent most of his adult years traveling across the country tirelessly searching. For what? A surgeon able to perform his highly sought-after hand enlargement surgery. Good luck!

What a crew team LSR had at its helm in the summer of 2010. This was definitely a summer of firsts for this campus. There were three tribal leaders, and all three worked with both tribes. They brought a lot of the fun of Junior camp - the zany activities, the high energy, and the infectious spirit up a notch to give lower senior camp a new vibe that definitely worked.

Barry is from Westchester, NY. He could be found all summer listening to Ke$ha, either in private or over the MKN loudspeaker. This activity continued despite pleas to stop from campers and counselors alike. It has been rumored that after camp he had a slumber party in his basement. Vicki is from Paisely, Scotland.

She took accent reduction classes with a gentleman named Alan all summer (making this interview possible). She mentioned that although she is not waterfront staff, she is happy to advise and assist with any boating questions or concerns you may have.

I put my hands under the sanitizer Man, it didn’t work. Go back to the sanitizer, Still doesn’t work. They said we’re really crazy, But far from being lazy (sike!) Our counselors are too cool, Always following their rules This year we’ve gone international But just one thing you’ve got to know: No no Spanish, We don’t understand it! Tribal leaders:

Greg, Jordan, Chad Greg is our Canadian tribal leader slash basketball program head. Well, one of them (see below). This summer, Greg enjoyed life on Cherokee row, with a group of campers really enthusiastic about USR life. One of his favorite parts of this summer was traveling on cool trips with an exceptional group of campers and staff. Also, he enjoyed having Cherokees in basketball, saying that seeing campers in program helped him to really get to know them.

traded the corporate totem pole for the MKN totem pole, well, back when we had one. He is from Canada and has recently decided to go back to school for education. Jordan was with the Algonquins this summer, and they all canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t wait for an incredible Seneca year together! He worked with Greg as the co-head of the MKN basketball program, enjoying the best of MKN program and campus life.

CHAD spent the summer in California. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m sorry, typo. Chad spent the summer in the Seneca house, with the same group of campers he has been with for the last few summers. He is originally from Australia but has been traveling the world for the last few years having tons of cool and diverse experiences. He always comes back to Lenox in the summers, though, and he brings incredible things to MKN, including laughs, hugs, and office staff.

2010 summer theme

efore each MKN season, the senior staff think of something that campers and counselors can be mindful of during the summer. The reason is that camp is such a nurturing and tight-knit community and is a great place for people to work on being their best selves. For 2010, the skill that we’re working as a community to improve on is positive thinking. It’s not like you need to remind yourself to stay happy here -- it’s camp! It’s a blast as is. BUT -- we think that staying positive is a great skill when things get tough in your life, and it’s a skill that will come in handy both at camp and at home. Of course, campers and counselors come to MKN for the great time. It’s easy to forget what a great place camp is to challenge yourself, test your limits, and see what you’re capable of. The key to accomplishing these goals is a positive attitude. Check out the list to the right -- it provides some quick ways to keep a positive attitude and a smile on your face. These values are great skills for life that campers and counselors live by during the summer. Check out the MKN Way below. The summer theme is a quick rule-of-thumb way to think about the MKN Way every day. With positive thinking, a great attitude and a positive mindset can keep you focused on what is important. Some awesome new games and activities (such as load the bases) joined kickball and lots more daytime activities. But rest hour was not for resting - there were crazy bunk to bunk antics and challenges. The day ended with the first ever rope burn, and when all was said and done the White team was victorious! session one Arrival day Smiles, funny hats, good spirts, and hellos can only mean one thing - itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s the first day! This is where it all begins, where campers meet their bunkmates and their counselors. The air is full of excitement for a great summer!

fourth of july MKN does the fourth right! We mix it up with special sports and activities, an all-camp outdoor BBQ dinner, and the traditional talent show after dark. Barry and Merc hosted this yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s show, which included throwback songs, overseas singing, slam poetry, and a spontaneous rave!

camp sing This yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s camp sing was definitely a great time. We had GaGa, Glee, and a Roy-al crew of judges. Be sure to check out the tribal pages for song lyrics. Of course, the night ended with Whacky Mah-KeeNac-y, lead by the 2010 Senecas. In the end, the Cherokees were the big winners. What a night!

session two Campfire We kicked off session two around our brand new fire pit on LSR campus. We introduced the key staff, played some fun name games, talked about camp, welcomed new people to the community, and ended it with, of course, sâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;mores served up fresh by Senecas!

mkn gives back As in years past, we took time out of the summer to give back. In 2010, we continued to Project Morry with a swim-athon. Also, we volunteered for our neighbors at the Stockbridge Bowl Association.

banquet The banquet means one thing: that an excellent summer at camp has sadly come to an end. After dinner, we handed out jackets to our five and eight year campers and staff and ended the night with a great outdoor slideshow!

caRNIVAL We definitely pulled out all the stops for carnival this year. We moved it back to junior field, changed up the midway, had live performances, started an all-out dance party, and, of course, inflatable rides and the infamous food court. What a great day!

movin' on up: what's new for 2010?

ow excited are you to be at Mah-KeeNac?! It’s going to be an awesome summer. As always, Bunkie and the winter crew have made some incredible additions to the MKN campus. The new staff of MKN Today! journalists, recruited directly from BBC studios in England, is thrilled to share some of these new updates with you in our first paper of twenty ten. First, we have an awesome water trampoline! You can see in the picture how much fun Ed and Ali are having on it, and we’re sure you’ll try it out some time this summer and love it. Next door is the renovated art studio slash conference center. Jack worked very hard all winter to get the building into ship shape. To make sure that his masterpiece remains unscathed, he installed ceiling fans to keep out giants, intruders, and vandals. You’ll get the joke when you see the awesome building. Additionally, 65% of the population of Louisianna was here during the early summer months to get our new campfire site ready to go for the summer. We had a campfire during staff orientation where we christened the site, and we plan to have opening all-camp kick-offs around the pit

during both sessions. Be excited - it’s the ideal place for laughs, bonding, and s’mores! Next door to the campfire is a garden where Chef Bob has already planted all of the ingredients for the summer menu. Our sources tell us that the pizza will be in bloom by Friday. All around camp we’ve also done some serious Resurfacing to the basketball and tennis courts. So far they look great and all the program heads and staff who are already here are really excited to try them out with the campers. One of the basketball courts didn’t get resurfaced though. We are excited to report that the smaller basketball court on lower senior campus has been turned into a skate park! Our awesome skateboarding counselor Max is convinced that the next Tony Hawk will be an MKN alum. Down in the media center, we are pleased to report a brand new radio antenna. This one will broadcast WMKN much further than our old one did. Once it’s installed we’re excited to test it out and see if our radio signal reaches all the way across the lake. Perhaps even to a famous actress’ house...

he Health Center is a very important part of camp. We have a staff of nurses and a doctor to keep us healthy and make sure that we’re staying hydrated, sunscreened, bug repellented, etc. So I spent the afternoon interviewing the crew to figure out what they do down there. And I’ll be honest, there was something weird about the health center. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but then it came to me. The health center is the ONLY place on camp I can think of that you ONLY hear American voices. And they are very American at that. Marcia, the southern ringleader, has a tiny twang (you may have noticed). After talking to the nurses, it’s safe to say that MKN has been defeet-ed this summer. According to the nurses, the summer of toe-thousand ten has found itself hilariously needing a toenail cutting class, which Marcia has volunteered to run in her spare time. In addition to this class, the nurses have a lot on their plates. This crew packs backpacks full of medicine, does nightly housecalls around camp, and so much more. In order to stay in peak physical condition to stay on top of it all, this crew has created the largest amount of Whey for protein shakes this side of the Mississippi.

Many of you may know that Jack Hastings, woodshop director, is a man with a really awesome story. The projects that he has undertaken with campers include pens, tops, cool chairs made spotlight spinning of skis, a canoe...the list goes on on and on. Where did he learn how to build all of these awesome things? Here’s his story. After 23 years as a financial advisor, he decided to change careers to do woodworking, a childhood hobby of his. He mainly builds 18th Century Windsor Chairs, but has a very eclectic background. For example, he worked with the man who designed guitars for Eric Clapton, and Jack just delivered his 34th guitar and his 9th ukulele. Also, he works to provide instruments and music instruction to low-income kids. And, he is a resident artist at the Biltmore House (wow!) in jack (usA) North Carolina. How amazing!

who is the better jack woodhead?

kay, Kevin...we’re onto you. When you hire two people named Jack Woodhead and one named Jack Wood, we’ve got to think that you do your staff recruiting in the white pages. So, after a few years of having two Jack Woodheads in the MKN community, it’s time to figure out who is more worthy of the name. There are some striking similarities between the two. For instance, neither have a middle name so we designate them by their program areas Birthplace

(bball and lax). Also, they each reside in the southern U.S. after camp. There are definite differences, though. We did some digging to figure out what makes these two tick and what their quirks are. e know you’ve seen them a r o u n d , probably while they’re driving in their shiny green Gators. It’s safe to say that you’ve wondered a lot about these two: about who they are, what they do and what they’re like. We’re here to tell you everything you need to know about Jack and Jon Mah-Kee-Nac’s incredible facilities managers. First thing you need to know: these two are awesome. But we can be more specific. During the summer, Jack and Jon receive all of your maintenance requests and deal with about 23459083259038 random requests and tasks each day. A typical day definitely includes mowing, hanging, building, fixing, unclogging...and that’s just before lunch. And, as you can see from the picture above, they do it with huge smiles on their faces! For the record, the entire rest of this article is satire. Before the jokes start, let it be known that these two are incredible and are responsible for everything working! In order to be ready for such a hectic summer of keeping camp intact, Jack and Jon are employed through the off-season to practice. We were lucky enough to get the exclusive story about their extreme offseason preparation regimen. Naturally, they frequently write maintenance requests forms for one another and ensure that they are

completed in a timely manner. Also, during their annual november olympics they bring Bunkie to camp from New York to officiate a variety of events which include a re-roofing marathon and, of course, a lightbulb changing relay. They spend most of the winter training for their competition, but they make time for a few other things. For example, last January they made a toscale fenway park model out of snow. They are both huge Sox fans, so they put the model on junior field so as to be able to see it from the dining hall where they spent a lot of time refinishing the floors. The reason for the re-flooring was strictly to create a beautiful gator showroom where their beloved vehicles, primped and polished, sat on display for the majority of the offseason. Without Gators to jet around on during the winter, they preferred ice skating, bringing Jon back to his early days as a semi-professional figure skater in Sweden. You can see him this upcomming winter as a celebrity guest judge on “Skating with the Stars.” 67

e say that we’re all a family at MahKee-Nac, but how literally do we mean it? Looking around camp recently it seems as though there are a lot of similar looking folks. Are they twins? zena: mkn's nighttime warrior

hen the Berkshire sun goes down and MKN goes to sleep, we rest assured that Mah-Kee-Nac is in good hands. Camp is protected by the watchful eyes of Zena, our nighttime security guard. Zena’s career path is quite interesting. Ten years ago, she was an ultimate fighter and body builder in Miami. One evening, after a widely televised fight (in which she clobbered Hulk Hogan), she returned to her apartment and turned on the television. She quickly became enraged. What was she watching, you ask? Xena: Warrior Princess. Her neighbors at the time tell the horrifying story of Zena’s booming voice echoing through the Miami night saying “SHE STOLE MY IDENTITY AND DIDN’T EVEN SPELL MY NAME RIGHT!” Thirty four hours later, the FBI responded to a tip saying that the television star was being attacked. They descended on the scene and found that Zena had pinned Xena to the floor of her California home. The FBI was so impressed that they offered Zena a job on the spot as an identity theft investigator and detective. Bunkie recruited Zena directly from the FBI and it’s clear that she puts her skills, experience, and brute force to work here at MKN. In a typical night, Zena oversees a lot of important things, such as making sure that staff check-in goes smoothly. To do so, she has attached an FBI-issued retinal scanner to the sign-in/sign-out book (see picture below). The device ensures that imposters do not sign-in at night. Zena also patrols camp during the night to make sure that the premises are secure. Fortunately, when Zena worked for the FBI they implanted her retinas with a HD vision enhancer that was designed as an experimental

endeavor with Sony. So, naturally, she can see in full color and brightness even in the middle of the night and can, of course, see through walls and buildings. Her third main task of the night is to do some tidying around camp which she does during her patrol rounds. ver the years it’s normal for a camp to change and evolve. Mah-Kee-Nac is no exception, gaining tons of new programs, facilities, and activities. But, has anyone noticed the slow but steady stream of Roy over the years? In their six-year tenure as directors, Bunkie and Lynn have brought in children, siblings, parents, etc. Rumor has it that the Roys made their way to Mah-KeeNac because of frustration planning family reunions. Mrs. Gwen (Mimi) wanted to spend more time with her grandchildren but Bunkie and Lynn were always busy with camp during the summer. So, she packed up her car, called the rest of the fam, and the rest is history. The Roy clan speant their last summer with MKN in 2010. Bunkie and Lynn have taken a different direction, still working in camping but doing so in the southern U.S. of A. We will miss all of the Roys, and are thankful for all of their great energy and contributions to Mah-Kee-Nac. And, I’m sure this goes without saying, but... if you’re ever in Bunkie, LA you should look them up!

or the last four years coach Jon Freehling has done a lot of things. These include aging exceptionally gracefully, being responsible for the outrageous fitness of the MKN staff and, of course, keeping a smile on everyone’s face. But this is obvious. What you might not know is that for four years Coach Jon has avoided an interview with MKN Today! and it’s time to end the streak. In our opinion, Coach Jon has dodged the MKN paparazzi because he knew that if we dug into his personal life we would find some things that would shock the MKN community. As the good journalists we are, we of course did an extensive check into his background and financials and have some incredible things to report. First, Coach Jon spends his year as an IT professional and computer repairman in California. His home with his lovely wife Theresa is actually a lavish portion of Bill Gates’ basement in Silicone Valley; Jon is so valuable to the Microsoft Corporation that Mr. Gates needs him on hand around the clock. Coach Jon earned the nickname “JTECH” at Microsoft because he has solved over 90% of the bugs and problems

with all of the company’s products over the years. So, campers and counselors, if you have any computer problems or simply want to air a grievance about Microsoft or Windows, Coach Jon is the man to talk to. We were able to get Coach Jon to open up to us about upcoming Microsoft projects and he says that he currently has the prototype for a new release installed in his throat. The voice amplifier 21-z is due for release next year and explains why you can hear Coach’s booming voice from across camp. During pre-camp, Coach could be found sitting on junior field having “who can be louder” competitions with the fog horns. Even during the year, Coach Jon is a very busy man. He has two main activities when he isn’t tied up in the Microsoft offices. First, he is a volunteer for the California Facial hair police. Rumor has it that Jon has collected over five million dollars in tickets following from violations. Second, Coach Jon teaches texting and tweeting for community service at a local nursing home. This is not surprising, though, because in all seriousness his communication p r o w e s s extends beyond technology. Coach Jon is often called the glue that holds Mah-Kee-Nac together because his dedication really personifies the MKN Way. Thanks, Coach! 73

hey make your food. They probably make you laugh. For both of those reasons and so many more, it’s safe to say that the kitchen staff is one of MKN’s most wonderful treasures. They are up to make breakfast, keep MKN fueled with lunch and snacks during the day, and are still around during dinner time. All the while, they work with a smile and really demonstrate that happy-go-lucky MKN spirit. Now, you may think that cooking for 500 people three times a day is a lot of work. And, you’d be right. To make it possible, many members of the dining hall staff have incorporated their outside lives and responsibilities inside the MKN kitchen. For example, if you look at the picture to the right you can see how Karsen has brought his modeling career into the kitchen as he poses with the giant orange fan. For some, this fusion of MKN with the outside world is easier than it is for others because this staff is from all over the place. We have representation from as close (relatively speaking) as Kansas and as far away as the UK and the Ukraine. So, I suppose you can say that our camp food is a bit of a sample of international cuisine! With that said, Bon Appetite!

Originally from West Virginia heritage, Jason now lives in Lenox all year and works for MKN as the assistant athletic director. This entails helping Ben with organizing events and also working with Coach Jon to make sure that program is going well. You can find him checking-in with program or filling in where necessary during the day.

Jessica Warren

Though we know Jess misses her days full time in the media center, she is doing a great job as the tours & marketing coordinator. She schedules and gives tours to prospective campers and their families and works on MKN’s promo materials. In the office, her nickname “lead management McGee” is well deserved. It’s fantastic that she still makes time to hang out in the media center and help with the photography program.

Nick Money

As Mah-Kee-Nac’s accounting intern, Nick is responsible for paychecks, camper canteen, and lots of other financial stuff. His favorite part of the job is being able to drive the red Hyundai around Lenox for his frequent trips to the bank. Unfortunately, I didn’t figure out Nick’s real last name before printing, but I promise “Nick$” works fine.

These two are from the cabana’s “yeah, I’m just calling to quickly confirm...” branch. Thanks to team program we have a summer schedule packed with awesome intercamps & tournaments. Both help with scheduling and they also come up with the rules for officiating athletic competitions. 75

hose paying attention in the dining hall might have seen cakes flying through the air. What you haven’t seen is as many campers catch the baked-goods launched their way. Since cake tossing is a serious sport here at MKN, campers, staff, and fantasy owners alike are outraged about the incredibly low completion percentage. But who is to blame? Are the MKN campers not practicing catching enough at football? Did the Tribal Heads not train properly in the off-season? Is the kitchen staff altering the cakes to enhance their own fantasy league teams? These are just some of the ferocious rumors proliferating camp. After painstaking investigation, it seems that blame can be squarely placed on inferior equipment. Veteran cake thrower Thomas Bodily stated, “Throwing the new cakes is like playing FROLF with a hula hoop.” Victoria McNeil added, “The equipment change has ruined years of training.” Like the microfiber ball that the NBA tested and abandoned a few years ago, it appears as though MKN has followed suit. During the first few days of camp, cakes were placed on larger, softer pieces of cardboard that fluttered like the Stars and Stripes on the flagpole, and after several unsuccessful throws – and one cake shower – the kitchen staff wisely made the switch back to the regulation cardboard. The result? The first completion of the summer! Veteran Chad Winton was pleased in the return to the smaller discs and commented, “the regular discs have allowed me and my coach to get back to the form that enabled me to launch cakes clear over the Little House” adding, “I look forward to continuing my reign as cake tossing champion.”

And I guarantee you that at least one child’s dreams were crushed by the sizable amounts of tomato sauce served because of Italian Night. Italian is a cuisine highlighted by thick, heavy, and colorful sauces, all of which can destroy a young bachelor’s hopes in a matter of seconds. Soy, BBQ, even salsa; everyone has a story. The Cheyennes this year are the smallest tribe at Mah-Kee-Nac. With that said, how do you think you guys work as a team? Jared Eisner: “I think that the Cheyennes work together very well even though we are the smallest tribe! We all know each other well, have an awesome group of counselors, get along, and are all at camp for the same reason -- to have a great time!!” What ways would you describe your tribe? Jake Squire: “Hmm, that’s a hard one. Well...I would say: Strong! Fierce! Small! Active!

In the sports world These past five weeks have not only been cool at Camp MKN, but also in the wide world of sports. Though MKN Today provides lots of news around camp, it’s important to hear about the cool goings on in the rest of the world. Particularly, I think, in professional sports (and I’m not just talking about MKN intercamps and tournaments!). The lsr hat-off We know that Bunkie and Lynn spend a long time with the summer packing list to make sure that you bring everything you need for an MKN summer. We’re fairly sure that Cheyenne Jake Squire took it a bit far. He arrived at camp with a duffle bag filled ONLY OF HATS! Jake is not the only person around lower senior camp who is always wearing a hat -- Sam Sirmons also overhatted this summer. These are not just any random two people on LSR camp. These are individuals who proudly don the attire and cheer like maniacs during the reading of sports scores for two lackluster baseball teams (Sam for the White Sox and Squire for the Marlins). Is over-hatting a defense mechanism for fans of losing teams? Is something else going on? Apparently, hat hoarders can get a bit combative. MKN Today! stumbled upon an aggressive hatoff between these two to see who has more (pictured). Sam had ONE more hat than Jake did and was triumphantly declared the winner. Now, if only having more hats is what it took to declare a victory of sorts for the White Sox...

how to rep ball state: an insider's guide Now, everyone sees me and always comes up with two comments, “Am I reppin’ Ball State?” and “I’m reppin’ Ball State.” Now, I have no problem with this because we all have that Cardinal Red & White running through our veins, but I want to make sure everyone is on the same page in understanding what it takes to represent THE Ball State University. Step 1: Be able to eat Hot Pockets and drink water for weeks on end. Your parents aren’t there & you can’t eat Chinese food EVERY day. Step 2: You must attend the home games and sit in the student section. You have to scream your head off for every dunk, touchdown, and every time the opposing coach tells you to be quiet. ;) Step 3: You must go to The Late Show with David Letterman and tell him you are from Ball State, you’ll get the V.I.P. treatment. Step 4: Being fresh, young, & fly is a necessity. If you are lacking, quickly address it, this includes wearing any other college apparel…this is HIGHLY frowned upon, especially Toledo. Step 5: We graduate. No Van Wilder’s or John Wall’s. We go for an education. That’s something NO one can take away from you. Step 6: Everything has a short name, so don’t call things by the name it’s given. The campus library is nicknamed Club Bracken because of the long, late hours we spend there. Step 7: You must have the hand motion correct. Put you hand in the shape of bird with your index & thumb making the beak, the other three fingers still extended, and move your hand up & down while saying “CHIRP” every movement. Step 8: As crazy as it sounds, you can wear pajamas to class. Just make sure you shower….. no one wants to sit next to the smelly kid. Step 9: Don’t look like a visitor. Always look like you are important and have somewhere to be. This is why you always carry a backpack. No one asks questions to a person who carries a backpack. Step 10: Listening to your iPod & texting is the most dangerous thing to do at the same time, only second to running with scissors. Just don’t do it. ESPECIALLY WITH SUNGLASSES ON.
