Woodruff Electric Announces 2020 Scholarship Recipients Woodruff Electric CEO, Michael Swan, announced the 2020 recipients of the Glynn and Mildred Carpenter Scholarships. The winners of the five $1,000 scholarships are Brian Casey, a graduate of Forrest City High School, Sarah Rendon, a graduate of Palestine-Wheatley High School, Cara Bowling, a graduate of McCrory High School, Fiona Franks, a graduate of Lee Academy and Harlee Futrell, a graduate of Wynne High School. Casey plans to attend the College of the Ozarks in the fall to major in accounting. Rendon plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall to major in nursing. Bowling plans to attend to attend Arkansas State University in the fall to major in graphic design. Franks plans to attend Arkansas State University in the fall to major in biology. Futrell to attend Arkansas State University in the fall to major in nursing. This is the sixth year that Woodruff Electric has held the scholarship program. The program is in honor of Glynn Carpenter and his wife, Mildred. Both Glynn and Mildred were strong advocates of higher education. Carpenter spent 53 years serving the electric cooperatives with the last 33 of those years he served as CEO of Woodruff Electric.
