ancer United was launched as a support group on 30th November 2012. Founder, Jan Sheward, was named as one of the Platinum Champions acknowledging her 10 years of voluntary service to the charity. This is a unique award by the Royal Voluntary Service and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall for this Jubilee year. Today, we operate as a cancer support charity unlike any other. We provide facilities for exercise, sport, physical activity, music and singing on a daily basis, with all activities revolving around social interaction. At the heart of our service is our specialized cancer exercise facility, the CUFITTER gym. Built in 2015, it is the first of its kind in the UK, providing a safe, dedicated space for cancer patients to come and exercise individually, or in small class groups.

Our support group is still very active, meeting twice a month at different venues with an ever increasing attendance.
