Steeped in history and glorious to view, the mountain beckons like no other. So why not visit in winter? The classic view from the north will take your breath away. Fairbanks outfitters offer both road and air tours of the park and the welcoming Murie Science and Learning Center is open daily year-round. Mid-February, the National Park Service plows the first 12.5 miles of the Denali Park Road to the Mountain Vista Rest Area—a beautiful spot to view the grand mountain during clear weather. An easy two-hour drive from Fairbanks, Denali National Park and Preserve covers six million acres of pure wilderness and is a perfect winter journey’s end.
