THE ROOSTER A monthly update from the Inland Empire Offroad Association

What’s New There isn’t any duning activity to report on this month, but that should change very soon. What are you doing to get ready for the coming season?

Summer is Winding Down We don’t have any written articles this month, but I thought I’d share some pictures from the web showing what members have been up to over the summer months. We are looking forward to seeing everyone out in the sand soon!

Sand Show is Soon The Sand Sports Super Show, which marks the unofficial start of the dune season, is coming up in a few weeks. It will be the weekend of September 15-17 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. See more on page 3.

October at Dumont

Don and Shirley Ford finished up a long term restoration of their Corvette, while the Tharps have been enjoying motorcycle rides and the Hagens visited Lake Shasta.

Our season starting trip to Dumont is coming up on October 5-9th. Some people will arrive as early as Thursday night, and may stay until Monday.

The Rooster

September 2017

The Sand Show is Coming The unofficial start of the season for many of us is the Sand Sports Super Show at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. This year’s event will be held September 15, 16, and 17th, so it is right around the corner. The show is under new ownership this year, having been acquired by the Bonnier corporation which publishes magazines and runs some other recreation themed events. The event has a new title sponsor in Nitto Tire, and from the looks of the exhibit map there will be the usual wide variety of exhibitors displaying anything from side by sides to trailers, RVs, riding gear, parts, and accessories. All of the buildings will be in use, as well as the “Family Fun Zone” outside west of the Hanger building. The ASA will again have a raffle on Sunday, and this year’s grand prize is a custom RZR. Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100, and will be available at the show. A group of us will be heading down to the show on Saturday morning, and a big part of the fun is running into other duning friends so hopefully we will see you there. -P.J.

This month we’d like to encourage everyone to provide content for the newsletter. While we prefer longer issues with more content, we still will get it out once a month even if there’s not a whole lot to report. Hopefully next month there will be more fun to report on. We will publish what content we have and a calendar of upcoming events in every month’s newsletter, and we look forward to your contributions to expand it beyond that. -Paul, Melissa, Allie, and Marshall.
