ABOUT IN HARMONY MONTCLAIR In Harmony Montclair, or IHM, is a group created by Maggie Borgen in 2017 that gets teenagers to improve the world and their community through the creation of an annual Harmony Concert. In Harmony also sets up smaller concerts and other events throughout each year. IHM stems from the Imagine Concerts created by Maggie Borgen and Lucy Solomon in 2015 and 2016. Since its founding, In Harmony has raised thousands of dollars for charities. This concert, for the non-profit IMANI, is the 7th annual concert. The Imagine & Harmony Concerts since 2015 have been for: 2015 - Toni's Kitchen 2016 - PAWS Montclair 2017 - Interfaith Hospitality Network (now Family Promise Essex) 2018 - COPE Center 2019 - Human Needs Food Pantry 2020 - Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (S.O.F.I.A.) 2021 - IMANI Although Harmony Concerts are usually in person, due to the pandemic, the sixth annual concert was virtual, as well as this year's concert. Both concerts are available on YouTube.

ABOUT IMANI WHAT IS IMANI? Founded in 1999, IMANI is a non-profit organization that designs programs for encouraging students in the Montclair Public Schools to strive for higher achievement. They are based around the Montclair community and have a goal to eliminate the gap in education for students of color by working with teachers, administrators, and parents. IMANI also encourages students to strive for four years of college and create an active and strong community with beneficial leaders. For all of these reasons, IMANI's motto is "We help level the playing field." IMANI was founded in 1999. They offer many programs, split up into grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adult. These include programs such as SAT prep and study groups.
