With 11 years of international business development and management experience, residential group managing director Han Suk Jung is no stranger to the real estate and construction sectors. The American -educated South Korean has called Vietnam home for the past 12 years, bringing his exper tise in operations, management, and real estate development to the local market.

Prior to joining SonKim Land’s corporate and services group, Ngo Nguyen Van Khoa was the director of investment and M&A at Truman Holdings Vietnam, where he managed integrated portfolios across the textile, industrial park, real estate, and food industries. Mr. Khoa has an MBA from the University of Bolton, UK and has also served as senior vice president for local investment management firm Horizon Capital Group.

How Sen Tan, managing director of the Commercial and Hospitality Group, brings over 30 years of experience to SonKim Land. With a strong focus on hospitality and residential management, Mr. How has worked in many countries throughout Southeast Asia as well as in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. Prior to joining SonKim Land, earlier, Mr. How served as development director for Nha Trang-based property development firm Crystal Bay Group.

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS OF SEPT 2017

Boasting a sophisticated fusion of contemporary and tropical style, the unique architecture and interior design of fully integrated architecture firm URBNarc draws upon the best elements of traditional villas and luxury condominiums.

Construction on Serenity Sky Villas has begun in earnest with continued work on the basement, foundation and ground floor. The structure’s third bracing system has been removed, while the removal of its second bracing system is ongoing. The pouring of reinforced concrete for the first and second foundation layers as well as the capping beam is also under way. The foundation and ground floor are expected to reach completion in November and December 2017 respectively.

Furnished with world-class design and materials, Gateway Thao Dien boasts Euro Window sound- and heat-proof window, German Wefatherm water supply system, German laminated flooring, BOSCH kitchen equipment, Duravit and Hansgrohe bathroom appliances with Häfele digital door locks.

As of September 2017, the brick work has been completed for the Aspen on 41 floors and for the Madison on level 6 to 34. Internal and external plastering continues on levels 40-42 and 34-36 for the Aspen and Madison respectively. Aluminium door frame work and wall tiling have been completed on level 6 to 14 for the Madison while progressing on levels 24-32 and 33-38 for the Aspen. Construction crews are currently completing ceiling work on levels 6 to 14 for both buildings. For the Aspen, internal painting is ongoing across levels 9-26 and external painting continues on levels 40-42.

The Nassim offers residents additional privacy within its gates via a private lift which leads directly to the foyer of each residence, the first of its kind in Vietnam. All the floors are paved in imported marble an exquisite touch to the apartments from 2 bedrooms.

Plastering work has been completed on The Nassim, and additional construction is moving along smoothly. Ceiling work within the building is in progress up to the 27th floor, as is aluminium, glazing, and tiling work, while marble flooring is in progress up to the 26th and 27th floors. Carpentry and laminate flooring work is also under way up to the 9th and 13th floors respectively, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work is ongoing up to the 22nd floor.

SonKim Land Corporation and EXS Capital Limited, an Asia-based independent alternative investment group, have announced the successful first-round fundraising of USD46 million out of an expected USD100 million follow-up fundraising for SonKim Land. This is the second SonKim Land investment led by EXS Capital through the Lemongrass Master Fund. After a successful initial investment of approximately USD37 million in 2013, SonKim Land has proven its value and expertise in Vietnam’s luxury real estate development through unique and award-winning residential projects such as Gateway Thao Dien and The Nassim. Building upon this success, SonKim Land and EXS Capital are partnering with ACA Investments Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based Japanese fund manager with a strong track record of investment across the Asia-Pacific region. ACA has significant experience in the local market thanks to investments in Vietnamese companies such as Bibo Mart and Cung Mua.

SonKim Land recently joined forces with South Korean convenience store brand GS25 to build the GS25 convenience store chain in Vietnam. GS Retail and SonKim Land expect to launch the brand’s first store in HCMC, with the aim of growing to 2,500 locations over the next decade. The two firms held a joint venture signing ceremony on 27 July 2017.

On 10 August 2017, SonKim Land and Pourcel Chateau Group entered a joint venture to build a high-end restaurant chain in Ho Chi Minh city. Founded by the Michelin-star Pourcel brothers, the French Pourcel Chateau Group and SonKim Land have carefully selected a handful of properties with great potential in strategic locations throughout the city. The two partners will initially launch three outlets: a gastronomy restaurant, a tea house, and a cafe.

At this year’s Vietnam M&A Forum, SonKim Land earned two significant awards for its practices, including Best Real Estate Deal of the Year 2016-2017 for its successful fundraising of USD$100 million from EXS Capital and ACA Investments as well as Company With Best Public Disclosure Practices of the Year 2016-2017 for having transparent and effective strategies and information disclosure policies. This year’s ceremony took place at the 9th annual Vietnam Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Forum with the theme "Seeking a Big Push.” The event was held at the GEM Conference Centre in HCMC on 10 August, 2017.

In May 2017, leading Vietnamese real estate developer SonKim Land Corporation was recognized by the Dot Property Awards as the Best Developer Ho Chi Minh City. Founded by Dot Property Group, the Dot Property Awards takes a different approach to finding each country’s leading firms, searching throughout each location for the best and brightest in the industry. This year’s awards panel boasted more than 50 years of combined real estate experience, and SonKim Land’s recognition helps to highlight its own instrumental role in Vietnam’s luxury real estate development.

The gifts contained essentials like rice, noodles, sugar, salt, and fish sauce.
