Well winter is here, and the spa is ready for you. The fire has been stocked up and the soup menu line up is amazing. Our spa has also had a mini face lift. We have just revamped All the rooms with-New Electric blankets on the bed new bed covers and linen, to create a even more relaxed and comfortable environment for you. One of my personal favourite is the addition of Rock Salt lights to improve health and wellbeing, plus as a bonus they create an amazing ambiance. The nail lounge did not miss out either with new White chairs for the clients and the therapist. We have had a great time shopping for you and we hope you enjoy the changes as much as we have putting it together. Winter Wellness from Pam at Miss Vitality Winter Wellness bringing Glow Winter time is always a lovely change for the soul. I just love to follow the seasons and look for what they can bring and what I can do to be in flow with nature’s way. For me winter time brings to mind the rain and the wet outside and the heat and the comfort of inside and the invigoration of going from one to the other. A common risk around this time in winter is the marketing that is involved towards flu vaccinations. The many people I have seen have these jabs and continually present sick is an enormous amount of people. Of course this is always a personal thing but before you give it a try how about trying some of the natural ways to support immunity, than the alternative where your body may or may not cope with. The ongoing side effects I feel are not worth the risk, nor the toxicity that surrounds the vaccine element. So build your beautiful self up! We know winter is here so let's be aware of what we put in to our beautiful bodies, whilst the weather brings about a clearing of dormant bugs from the summer to rise into our environment. Let's eat well and make medicine our food! There are some amazing immune boosting soups and broths that support our immunity, so make it habit to have one every few days. Continued juicing even if it's not summer is always a great way to boost antioxidants into the skin, keep in mind that what you do now will enable an easy transition into summer too. food with fresh herbs if your cook hot food always eat a handful of raw with it, one soup I enjoy I call my Chinese raw lunch. I add homemade stock with soy sauce or Tamari and a huge range of vegetables like Shitake mushrooms (immune boosting mushrooms), snow peas, celery, capsicum, bean sprouts, mushrooms, tomatoes, ginger root, lemongrass with mint, coriander and basil fresh and even some miso paste that is organic along with some organic free range chicken, I finish this with a slice of lime fresh in the top, so many delicious flavours!! Immune boosting and antioxidant rich. This is such a nourishing winter meal, add your hot water and away you go. You see it's not what's happening on the outside but what environment you create this winter in the inside. Here are some tips for the winter to come to keep your body and skin looking beautiful!! 1. Proper hygiene, spreading viruses through contact of tissues, coughing etc is the fastest way to get something yourself, be aware of hygiene 2. Exercise boosts your immune system! By increasing the circulation of immune cells, resulting in increased production in macrophages – cells that attack bacteria dn viruses. High intensity often is not favourable however as this can lower immunity and fatigue the body leaving it open to risk of infection, so balance is the key as always!

Drink plenty of water if not herbal tea “Green Tea and Cleansing teas are often rich in antioxidants especially Rosehips that out do the antioxidants of Green Tea and are responsible for fighting infection, stimulating the immune system too, (organic and clean). The body needs water for waste removal and transport nutrients around the body. Herbal teas as a great way to do this during winter have the phytonutrient benefits that really support the liver, increase Vitamin C or can be antibacterial too 4. Foods to fight! Colds and Flu during the winter months include Onions for flavonoid (quercetin) content – anti-inflammatory, antihistamine effect. Garlic (stimulates natural killer cells and lymphocytes along with Onions are both sulphur rich and are anti-bacterial. Sweet potato and carrots contain beta-carotene converts to Vitamin A which prevents and fights infection. 5. Berries!! Rich sources of potent antioxidants! I love berries summer, winter, breakfast, lunch, snacks, desserts!!! Anytime you can get berries then you should do just that. Reducing
inflammation, high in antioxidants and reduce influenza symptoms. Protection against oxidative damage is also a key here.
6. ^Medicinal Mushrooms – as mentioned above Reishi. Shitake Maitake are ju7st a few you can use daily during winter, I like to put in my Reishi powder just ¼ tsp into my nutri-bullet and add the Shitake soaked for 10mins into my soups. These mushrooms are medicinal and have been used in traditions for many years and been used as potent immune enhancers. Beta-glucans stimulate white blood cells that break down bacteria and have antiinflammatory effects. Our winter wellness suggestions will ensure a focus this winter is towards vitality and nourishment. You can have beautiful glowing winter skin and body if we decide to be nutrient rich this winter. HOW SUGAR IS AGEING YOUR SKIN It is everywhere in the media today about how bad sugar is for you According to the World Health Organisation our beloved chocolate is just as addictive as tobacco and has as many adverse health effects. Besides chocolate making you paunchy and insulin resistant it has also been tainted with being the number one cause of skin ageing. This is known as Glycation. How susceptible to Glycation can be easily determined with a DNA test, giving you an accurate idea of how much this will affect your ageing. DONT BE AFRAID OF SKIN NEEDLING But you need to be informed.... A few years ago Micro Needling and Radio Frequency would have had you bouncing off the walls. However we have come a long way. Both protocol and equipment have improved and now is significantly more comfortable with less adverse effects. The results from the treatments are amazing over a few weeks and months you will notice your skin texture and facial firmness improve. We recommend 3 needling treatments a month apart and 2 Radio Frequency in between each. What is most important during these treatments is the home care you use and how you treat your skin during the process.
It is important no makeup is applied to the skin immediately after the procedure and goo hygiene in the salon and at home. In the salon a medic pack is used for each client with one use only sterilized covers, tweezers and needles. At home: Clean make up brushed, clean pillow case, keep your hair off your face and minimise touching your face during the day. The originality of needling NOT used at Le Beau, the skin can easily become infected after micro-needling with dermal roller stamp or pen. Le Beau uses a system from Aspect DR called Dermafrac, This system is far less evasive that those mentioned above as the needle scratches the skin rather
than penetrating causing bleeding and leaving your face looking like something out of a “horror show” with redness and bruising. However we still recommend no make up for 24 hours. During the process we highly recommend using a breathable colour corrective treatment that is made for post procedures such as these. “Lycogel”. It is an anti-ageing coverage that lasts all day, is paraben and fragrance free, has a SPF30 UVA and UVB protection. It has been proven to be non-irritating for sensitive skin types, contains active ingredients such as peptides and antioxidants, it is noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic, and water and transfer resistant.

I was hoping to raise $6000, I am pleased to announce we were able to raise $8,500 this year which is more than I could ever have imagined. This means after holding 4 quiz nights we have raised $42,200 towards Cystic Fibrosis WA. This quiz night was another successful event and we were lucky enough to have former West Coast Eagles player Karl Langdon as our Quiz Master. The success and positive feedback from this year’s fundraising event would not have been possible without your contribution and the generosity from the people of Perth. The money raised from the quiz night goes to Cystic Fibrosis WA where it will be used for provision of services for those people with Cystic Fibrosis living in WA.
