Further Eisteddfod succes for three shining stars, pictured from left: Zoe Miller, Pandora Bevan and Tara McLelland. The girls took out top honours in the Speech and Drama section to make it three for three for Fairholme College: Zoe Miller – Secondary Speech and Drama Bursary for Girls, Pandora Bevan – Speech and Drama Championship Solo Years 10 to 12, Tara McLelland – Secondary Speech and Drama Encouragement Award.

Out of a tremendous generosity of spirit and a desire to give something special back to the Stephens House community and the group of special Year Twelves in 2012, Mrs Shelley Hindmarsh (Mother of Karlea, Senior 2012) made a mini ‘Steph’ for each of the 26 seniors in the House. Year 10 Boarder Shaina Rother took to the skies for a parachute jump in March 2013 to raise more than $2000 for Juvenile Diabetes.

After an intensive selection process, Zoe Cornwell (Year 12) has earned a place amongst the ten delegates from Australia to attend the United Nations Youth National Summit in July 2013, which includes students from every State and Territory, as well as students from Japan, Tonga and New Zealand.

Budding writers Alison Thomas (Year 11, pictured right), and Eve Smibert (Year 9) were awarded first place and second places, respectively, in their sections in the recent Australians for Constititional Monarchy Toowoomba Regional 2013 Essay Competition.

Sixteen brave Fairholme Seniors sacrificed their locks to raise almost $20,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation on Thursday 20 June 2013.

Fairholme staff and students paid tribute to the fallen, during a special Anzac Day service held at the College on Wednesday 24 April 2013.

Hannah McKee and Jaime Painter were presented with WM Kyle Bursary Awards by Mr Kym Flehr of the The Society of St Andrew of Scotland (Queensland) in Term 2, 2013. Acting Principal, Ms Catrina Sharp, presents Katy Hutchison with a gift to thank her for a very special community presentation, ‘Walking after Midnight – The story of Bob’. Katy shared her story of family tragedy and forgiveness, demonstrating the power of restorative practice.
