I’d rather work in team than working individually because I value cooperating with others as it brings out the best in me. When I work with a group I am more practical. One aspect I really appreciate working on is doing the branding, layout, contacting the stakeholders and setting up meetings. I put a lot of work into research before diving into a project as I prefer to make well-considerate choices.

I focussed on technical manufacturing of this project. I designed the interaction with the product and branding of the Hive.
The Hive
3th Bachelor
Using SMC, BMC the Hive was created to surf on the trend of the sharing economy. The shed that we designed is intended for a small community, like people living in homes, digs, apartments. It can be put in a closed-off area like a garden shared by the inhabitants.
QUUB
Bachelor tesis
For my bachelor’s thesis, I did a redesign of a photo booth. The assignment was to look at the problems of use within current designs and to address them. This way Quub was created.
The focus was on use by families with young children. Parents can keep an eye on their children while they are playing outside the photobooth and take a picture themselves. There is enough space for two people to sit next to each other.
Voor ons, door ons The project ‘Voor ons, door ons’ consisted of decorating the cafeteria, the corridors and the outside square. Soundproofing furniture, benches and tables were designed. Modularity was one of the main drivers for this project. Some tools to make their projects easier were also designed, for example a station to fill up small bags and sew them.
Internship
1st Masters
Kunnig is a sheltered workshop in the south of Antwerp. I did my internship here for 10 weeks, working on 2 projects. Everyting needed to be created with the materials and labour that were available at the site.
Circuit For the ‘Circuit’ project, I designed the space of their new shop. For this, a table, cash register furniture, counter and storage were designed. These are currently used in the new shop.
Buddy makes the problem of poor air quality visible. He lives in his house that is mounted on the wall in the classroom. At the end of each month the school comes together and races for the price. A medal is rewarded for best air class. Through the usage of the smartboard app and phone app the parents are involved. As the students take fun, small assignments home parents are also made aware of the problem and what they can do about it.
TUO
1st Masters
TUO is a product service system designed for primary schools. It learns children about the importance of a good air quality and how they can improve the indoor air quality for themselves.
Volvo
1st Masters
For this assignment we did a brand extention for Volvo. Imagining they came with the design of a new contactless thermometer.
From a form study and a study of the brand, implicit and explicit characteristics were taken into account.
Starting from the record player as we know it now, recognisable interactions would make up for a new way to experience listening to music.
Marmo
1st Masters
Marmo is modern record player that is designed using rich interaction. Using a projector and a mechanisme that is built with gears the interaction is simulated in a user context.
EQ-design
Masters tesis
The titel of this thesis is ‘Interactive user test on the evaluation of experiential qualities of plastic materials with consumers’. The company that would make this possible is called EQdesign consultancy. This dissertation included an exploration on the design first steps to make large-scale, standardised data collection on experiential qualities of plastics with consumers possible. The goal is to design an interaction that is clear to a large group of consumers.
An on screen intraction and tools are designed for evaluation sensorial attributes and tailored to respondents that have no experience in materials evaluation. This makes standardised tests possible for a valuable data-set.
Game in a Box
Extracurricular activities
This project included the design of table decoration that for children. It includes a board game for 2 to 8 children from the ages between 5 and 12 years. By order of my employer Table in a Box, I was responsible for the design of the game plan and graphics. The project is ready for production.
Each player is the representative of a country. They get a card with meals that are known for that country. The main goal is to travel the world and visit friends to get the ingredients to make a meal. The first one to reach that goal wins.
