hoW did We g ET HE r E ?

not in a “meaning of life” type way, but in the literal sense. How did we come to this list of award winners and nominees you will see on the following pages?

the answer is quite simple: you.

the b est of hancock county was broken down into two separate rounds, with the first round being the nomination round. n ominations were accepted online from June 1st - June 7th.

Voting took place from June 11th to June 28th. over 9,400 local people voted over 118,000 times in 120 different categories to help us find their favorite local businesses.

counting votes was the easy part — g oogle did that for us. the hardest part was coming up with enough categories to include everyone. did we succeed?

n o. did we try really hard? yes.

We tried to include a category for everyone in hancock county, and we think we got really close, b ut if we missed anyone don’t fret, we will be back next year. We know this contest means a lot to the community and we will continue to tweak our system to make it the best we can.

in closing, we would like to thank all of the folks that voted, advertised, and promoted this project. it was a large undertaking that we hope will be a great honor for those who not only won but were nominated as well. h ancock county has many great people and businesses, morethan those that are just on these pages.
