hat’s not to love about summer? Longer days, loads of sunshine and an abundance of fun things to do! As the season approaches, here are some “must do” activities to include on the family calendar.

M A KE A S PLA S H Mix up your pool time fun with a visit to one of Cincinnati’s outdoor splash parks. For starters, there’s The Beach Waterpark, a 35-acre tropical paradise in Mason. Little ones will love the fountain area at Lil’ Kahunas Waterworks, while older kids will enjoy the vast variety of water slides. Parents can kick their feet up on a tube ride in the Kokomo Lazy River, which meanders through the entire park. Another popular Cincinnati attraction is Soak City at Kings Island. With 50+ water activities, including slides, tropical lagoons and surf-able waves, there’s plenty for kids to do. Soak City is included with Kings Island park admission, so families can make a day out of these two parks. Younger families will love the water play areas at Winton Woods Park and Sharon Woods Park. Both places feature fountains and ample play space for kids, and even pedal boats and canoeing. Finally, families should venture down to the interactive water park at historic Washington Park. Kids will love running through one of the 130 pop-up jets and splashing on the water steps. Afterwards, head over to the playground, which features a play castle, climbing wall, sandbox, slides and musical instruments.
