Sonal Bhuchar Announces Candidacy for State Rep. HD 26 SUGAR LAND, TX: On Thursday, August 18, Sonal Bhuchar, Fort Bend ISD Board Trustee and small business owner of a private physical therapy company, officially declared her candidacy for the Republican nomination for State Representative District 26. The district is in the heart of Fort Bend and includes the cities of Sugar Land, Stafford, Richmond and Missouri City among others. Fort Bend ISD Position 2, which Trustee Bhuchar has represented since 2006, covers many of the same geographic areas as House District 26. “I am running for state representative because I believe the strength of our Texas Economy is being put in jeopardy by out of touch politicians who have been in Austin too long. The two issues that I believe will define our future are cultivating an educated workforce and reigning in this out of control state spending. From 2001 to 2010, state debt grew from $13.4 billion to $37.8 billion, an increase of 281 percent. At the same time, we are seeing schools across the state fail our families. I will not stand by and watch our economy and the future of our children suffer because of the misguided policies being implemented in Austin.” said Bhuchar. About Sonal Bhuchar: Sonal Bhuchar, a long time resident of Sugar Land, is a physical therapist in private practice in Sugar Land and was elected to the Fort Bend Board in 2006 in Position
