Gujarat takes an active role in this program. Already ten foreign countries have given their consent to participate. Dr. Vyas

was the architect of the first Global summit in Madhya Pradesh in 2007. Now Gujarat is taking the challenge. Referring to the Swarnim Gujarat he said that this was the moment every Indian, especially Gujaratis, should be proud of. Modi took charge of Gujarat when

its economy was shrinking and domestic growth was stagnant. Faced with massive economic losses, he re-organized the government's administrative structure and embarked upon massive cost-cutting measures. As a result of his indefatigable efforts, Gujarat registered a GDP growth rate of over 10% during his first tenure. This was the highest growth rate among all the Indian states. As Chief Minister, Modi concretely put to practice many plans that he had envisaged for the development of Gujarat. This included Panchamrut Yojana, a fivepronged strategy for an integrated development of the state, Sujalam Sufalam, a scheme to create a grid of water resources in Gujarat in an innovative step towards water conservation and its appropriate utilization. Following are some of the projects he implemented: Krishi Mahotsav - agricultural research labs for the land, Chiranjeevi Yojana - to reduce infant mortality rate, Matru Vandana - providing preventive and curative services under the Reproductive and Child Health Program, Beti Bachao - campaign to protect baby girls to improve sex ratio, Jyotigram Yojana - to electrify every village, Karmayogi Abhiyan to educate and train government employee, Kanya Kalavani Yojana - to encourage the education of girls, Balbhog Yojana - for midday meal for students As a result of these yojnas Gujarat became number one state in India in from many perspectives. Many scholars and India Inc leaders suggested that if Gujarat model was applied in all states, India could easily become a developed nation. The U.S. Census Bureau is at work to determine the U.S. population. This is an important issue in terms of allocation of resources

for developments in social, political and business environment in the country. We have a new code for Asian Indians, and its credit goes to Dr. Vyas, who persuaded and followed up to add this section for our benefit. "I am proud to say that Indians have an identity now and my efforts are hugely successful in achieving yet another milestone in the process of our recognition as a distinct unit of population. This should help us in a varieties of ways, especially allocation of resources for education, industry etc, to say the least," he told India Post. He was felicitated by the Madhya Pradesh Government for the award of Pravasi Bharatiya last January 18. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan honored him at a special function. This was the highest civilian award given to NRI for his contribution for the betterment of MP economy.
