he Victorian Govern1nent has announced $200,000 multicultural festivals and celebrations.
$50,000 ofthis amount is set asidefor Hindu celebrations, events and festivals.

Early in the newyear,ActingMinister for Multicultural Affairs Shaun Leane opened the Multicultural Festivals and Events Progra1n, invitingorganisations to apply forfunding forevents to be held between March and June this year.

The fundingwill support eventsheld either in person orin adigital fonnat. 1n-person events must adhere to the COVIDSafe Public Events Framework.
With the entertainn1ent and events industry one ofthe hardest hit becauseofthe panden1ic, this funding announcement comes as awelcome move.

The initiative is part ofthe Andrews' LaborGovernment'selection co1nmitn1ent to invest $200,000 to support multiculturalcelebrations.
In March,Victoria'sGreek cornmunity will celebrate the 200th anniversaryofGreekindependence - a significant occasionon theircultural calendar. Minister Shaun Leanesaid, "The $200,000 fundingwill help it be COVIDSafe but in1portantly, a rnilestone to ren1en1ber."
