Mechanics •

• •

The CTA’s basic mechanism for force delivery is a ‘V’ bend which lies just anterior to the molar brackets. It is calibrated to deliver approximately 40 – 60 gms of force. Incisor intrusion requires about 50 gms of force directed apically along the centre of resistance. Intrusion 1mm / 6 weeks
