Kappa Sigma Phi is a social fraternit y of college me n, and, si nce organization of thi s t ype have bee n ass umi ng increasing importance with each pa ss ing yea r, it ha s always be en the desire of every Kappa Sigma Phi member t o he lp his frate rnal brother whenever he can , and t o be of service t o hi s community. The founding of the Kappa Sigma Phi Fraternity wa s a result of the effort s of a group of Fo rt Wa yne college students who wanted to form their own social gro up to meet members of the va ri o us social organizations t hroughout Fort Wa yne . The Fraternity was incorpo rated on November 27, 1946. Th e charter members and the offices which the y held at that time Vi ce- Presi dent; Robert are as fo llows: Jack Gren, President; Earl Hard v, , Baade, Secretary; Luth e r Col v'in, Trea surer; Eldon C leveng er, Sergeant-atArm s. Other members were: Ri chard Phi llips , Wil iam Thurber , Foster Cross, and Pau l Bande lie r. Charles E. Dare of the Interna tional Business College is sponsor, and holds an honorary membership in Kappa Sigma Phi. Mr. Raym o nd Warden of the Indiana Uni ve rsity Exten sion Center (Fort Wa yne) gave valuabl e advice and fl ssisiance in the form ulation and operation of the Fraternity. In Octobe r, 1950 , the Beta Ch apter of Kappa Sigma Phi was officially roecog nized by Indiana Tec hni cal C o llege. Eve ry member of Kappa Sigma Phi is moti va ted by an ideal for continued growth , and a readine ss to promote good fe llowsh ip , sportsma nship and scholars hip in his community , wherever it ma y be .
