With our sister college International House Dublin, we provide a complete educational service to international students. International House Dublin is a member of the International House World Organisation and is accredited by the Irish Department of Education and Science, EAQUALS and by ACELS. Together we can bring a student right through their educational career from English language programmes, A-Level courses and foundation years through to diploma courses, undergraduate, postgraduate and ACCA qualifications. International Students Independent Colleges International Admissions Office The College welcomes applications from international students who would like to study in Ireland. We have a huge amount of experience in helping international students and every year we welcome an increasing number of students from all over the world. We have an extensive array of programmes in business, law, finance, marketing, journalism, tourism, arts and psychotherapy to choose from and we are continuously expending our list of academic programmes to ensure we are at the cutting edge of international education. A full list of programmes open to international students is available from www.independentcolleges.ie. Our aim is to make the application process as uncomplicated and efficient as possible. Students who wish to apply to any course can do so either online at www.independentcolleges.ie or by requesting a Non EU application form from our admissions office at the address below:

Each application should be returned to the Admissions Office with the following Required Supporting Documentation: • Original or certified copy of birth certificate or passport. • Original or certified copy of residence permit (if you are resident in an EU state). • Original or certified copy of school leaving examination certificate OR high school transcripts – including forecast results if final results are not available. • Original or certified copy of full academic transcript(s) of any third level studies and the proof of the final degree (if appropriate). • Original or certified copy of IELTS or TOEFL score (or equivalent) for applicants whose first language is not English. • Original or certified copy of the official translation to English If you are unable to provide any of the documentation listed at the time of application, please attach a note advising us when you expect to be in a position to forward it. Outstanding documentation should be forwarded to the Admissions Office as soon as it is available. Please note: provisional offers will be sent to successful applicants who have not yet completed their studies. This is not an official offer and as such is not acceptable for visa purposes. English Language Requirements All applicants whose first language is not English may be required to sit either an IELTS or TOEFL test (or equivalent). Student applying for a Level 8 programme at the College are required to have

achieved the equivalent of the IELTS 6.0 and Level 9 applicants should have the equivalent of a IELTS 6.5. Special Requirements Journalism: Applicants may be required to submit a portfolio. Psychotherapy: Applicants may be required to undergo an interview. Closing Dates The normal closing date for receipt of applications is one month prior to the beginning of term. However, all international applicants should check with their local consul or embassy to confirm the visa processing deadlines that pertain to their country. Please note: late applications may be accepted if the programme is still open and there is adequate time to organise a student visa. Visa Guidelines All students holding a Non-EU passport are required to have a valid student visa to study in Ireland. Students are welcome to visit the website of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service to familiarise themselves with the visa entry requirements in Ireland. Accreditation The Higher Education Training and Awards Council - The Higher Education and Training Awards Council was established under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act of 1999. It is the successor to the National Council for Education Awards (NCEA). HETAC is the qualifications awarding body for third education and training institutions outside the university sector. Professional Accountancy - ACCA (Full-Time)

Independent College Dublin runs full-time Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) courses that are specifically designed for students from non-accountancy related backgrounds. The School of Professional Accountancy at Independent College Dublin has been awarded the ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner status, which is the highest academic teaching status awarded by ACCA. The school has achieved over 60 placings in Ireland in the last 6 examination sittings, including two first in the world prize winners, and has received an overwhelming response from the ACCA student community. ACCA full-time classes have small student numbers and focus on interactive learning. They offer more contact hours with daytime lectures, revision courses and question-based assessments. Our international students are required by law to register for a full-time course and choose four subjects per year to obtain a study visa.

Living in Dublin Dublin is one of the most vibrant capital cities in the world. Alive with young people, culture, music, history, art, sport, business, innovation and academic excellence, it is an incredible place in which to study and live. There are more than 1 million people living in the city and they are all very proud of its heritage and rich cultural tradition. Cafes, bars and restaurants are full of conversation where music and fun spill onto the streets where artists display their creations. It all adds to this lively, bubbly, interesting city. Dublin has an incredible literary and academic history. Today it is a thriving, effervescent capital with a young, easy-going population and thousands of traditional and contemporary pubs, restaurants, clubs, museums, galleries, sports stadia, theatres, music venues and nightclubs.

Accommodation Before a student comes to study with us, we will help to organise their accommodation. This is a city famous for its hospitality. It’s also a university city and that brings a great many choices with our accommodation officer giving all the help a student needs.

Homestay Host family accommodation is available on a full-board basis and all of our host families are carefully vetted and selected. Generally, families live outside the city centre in houses with gardens in the suburbs of Dublin with travel times on public transport (bus, train or tram) of no more than 40-50 minutes.

Self-catering apartments The school offers selfcatering apartments all year-round in two fantastic locations in Dublin City in a shared apartment with a single en-suite room or in a single occupancy studio apartment or twin/ double apartment.

English Language Programmes Our language courses are provided by International House Dublin (IH Dublin), a member of the International House World Organisation, one of the largest language teaching and teacher training organisations in the world. Like all International House Schools, we provide the highest standards of quality and innovation in education and training. Courses are provided in general English, business English, exam preparation (specialising in IELTS and Cambridge preparation) and teacher training. They are designed to help our international students to improve their English to the point where they are capable and comfortable in starting a Foundation Year, A-Level course or degree programme.

A-Level Courses The A-Level Programme at International House Dublin is designed to give a student more choices when it comes to entering university in Ireland, the UK, the US and many other countries. International House Dublin is Ireland’s specialised A-level college and the only one in Ireland accredited by Cambridge University. We offer Cambridge International AS and A Levels which are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. Cambridge International AS and A Levels are taken in over 125 countries and are widely recognised and valued by universities and employers alike. Every year, thousands of Cambridge International A-Level students gain places at universities worldwide - including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Our hallmarks are quality, excellence and innovation and these are delivered in small class sizes for individual attention. We prioritise self-motivation, involvement, personal study and research as we help our students to prepare for higher education. Our courses run over the traditional two-year period or as an intensive one-year course. Diploma in Business Studies with Intensive EFL Preparation (Pre University Foundation Programme) The ICM Diploma in Business Studies with Intensive EFL Preparation ensures international students can gain any additional English skills they need to enter onto an undergraduate degree programme. This 1 year course is designed to provide international students with the full range of academic knowledge and skills in specific modules, including international business communications, business management, marketing, accounting and economics. English Language (Part 1) The standard General English course covers all aspects of the English language. We encourage students to advance as much as possible in order to help them reach their objective. IELTS Exam Preparation (Part 2) The course consists of General English and specific IELTS exam preparation. The IELTS exam, devised by the British Council and University of Cambridge, is a key exam for entry to undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Ireland, the UK, Canada and the United States. Diploma in Business (Part 3) This diploma will serve as a Foundation for entry to a full undergraduate degree programme at Independent College Dublin. Students who excel at Diploma level may be granted exemptions in modules of our business degree courses.
