Addie May Martin, daughter of Dustin Martin and Cheyanne Presley, was delivered Friday, July 8, 2016, at Hardin Medical Center. Although their precious daughter was called Home before taking her first breath, she is greatly loved and cherished by her entire family. She is survived by her loving parents, Cheyanne Presley and Dustin Martin; big sister, Liberty Lynn Presley; big brother, Briley James Presley; grandparents, Jimmy Grisham of Sardis, Tenn., Buffy Grisham of Adamsville, Tenn., Jada Robinson of Ramer, Tenn., Marcus McCoy of Corinth, Miss., Allen and Holly Tacker of Stantonville, Tenn., and David White of Ramer, Tenn.; great-grandparents, Jimmy and Joyce Martin of Stantonville, Tenn., Brenda and Jimmy Grisham of Morris Chapel, Tenn., Mildred and Eugene Tacker of Stantonville, Tenn., Brenda and Terry Pruden of Sardis, Tenn., Ronny and Dee Blakney of Arlington, Tenn., Linda Kay McCoy of Jot-em Down, Tenn., and Pat Hyde of Savannah, Tenn.; great-great-grandparent Vernon Blakney of Michie, Tenn.; uncles, Johnny Drew Tacker, Justin Dakota Martin, and Stevey Lynn Grisham; aunts, Crystal Grisham and Hanna White; and a host of extended family and friends. Addie May was preceded in death by an uncle, David King and great-grandparents Danny Wayne McCoy, Larry Morgan, and James Hyde. Services were held on July 10, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville, Tenn. Roger Wilbanks officiated. Burial followed in the Pounds Cemetery .
Melinda (Mindy) Lee Blankenship of Sardis, Tenn. was born October 25, 1979, in Jackson, Tenn. She was a graduate of McNairy Central High School class of 1997 and attended Gulf Coast Community College and UTM. She was a member of Sinner’s Hope Church in Sardis, Tenn. She departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the age of 36 years, 8 months, and 15 days. Mindy is survived by her parents, Ricky and Lisa Blankenship of Sardis, Tenn.; her beloved sister, Ashley Blankenship of Selmer, Tenn.; grandparents, Rev. Lloyd and Wanda Blankenship of Sardis, Tenn.; aunts and uncles, Juan and Shelly Palomino, Ronnie and Angie Blankenship, Rick and Lavonda (Sis) Hefner, Wayne and Ginger Howell; niece, Ashlyn; nephews, Ashton and Abel; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Linda Faye and Olen (Sonny) Davis. A graveside service was held on July 14, 2016 at the Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tenn. with Lloyd Blankenship officiating.

Juanita Bushart Roark Juanita Bushart Roark was born September 10, 1928 in East St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late William and Delia Younger Burcham. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tenn. She was retired and had worked at Smith’s Clinic and the Jackson Clinic as a Nurse. Juanita had been a Pink Lady at the McNairy General Hospital, a member of the Eastern Star and a Bowling League Champion. She departed this life on July 23, 2016 in Selmer, Tenn. at the age of 87 years, 10 months, 13 days. Juanita is survived by her children: Terry Graham and husband Jerry of Selmer, Tenn., Debbie Clayton and husband Ronnie of Selmer, Tenn., Mike Bushart and fiancee Crystal of Selmer, Tenn.: four grandchildren: Ashley Phillips and husband Adam, April Clayton, Colton Bushart and Conner Bushart; six great grandchildren: Clay Tanner and wife Lacey, Bridget Stedman and husband Matt, Brayleigh Clayton Hodge, Brooklyn Clayton Hodge, Christian Graham and Knox Phillips; five great great grandchildren: Cadence Stedman, Lea Cate Stedman, Maddison Tanner, Jordanne Tanner and Peyton Tanner; many loved nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Homer Roark. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by the father of her children, Bill Bushart; three grandchildren: Jonathon Robert Graham, Christopher Allen Graham, Amber Jean Clayton; three brothers: Lennie, W. D. and Ardell Burcham; six sisters: Louise, Mildred, Helen, Lois, Mary and Dorothy. Services were held on July 26, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tenn., Joey Johnson officiated. Burial followed in the Lake Hill Memorial Gardens at Bethel Springs, Tenn. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in care of Chris Graham Scholarship Fund at 310 West Court Ave. Selmer, TN 38375.
Howard Jeter Howard Jeter, age 77 of Bolivar, passed Thursday morning, July 21, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar. Visitation was held Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial followed the service at Shandy Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Howard Jeter was born Wednesday, August 3, 1938, to the late Thomas Perry Jeter and Roxie Thomas Cochran Jeter, in Madison County, Tenn. On May 28, 1961, he married Georgia Sue Jeter and remained happily married for more than 55 years. He lived all of his life in Hardeman County. He was a member of the Shandy Baptist Church, where he was saved in 1957, and served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and superintendent. Mr. Jeter also helped build the new Shandy Baptist Church building. Howard was an all around handy man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and the outdoors. He was a great entertainer and loved telling stories from his childhood. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and treasured his church family as well. Howard is survived by his wife, Georgia Sue Jeter of Bolivar; two sons, Robert Jeter (Rose) and Charles Jeter (Cindy) of Bolivar; two step-sons, George Wayne Wiggins (Susan) of Bolivar, Tenn., and Levourn Wiggins (Karen) of Otto, NC; one step-daughter, Kathy Baker (Jackie) of Middleton, Tenn.; two sisters, Ann Gates (Robert) of Middleton, and Jo Hickman of Bethel Springs; a brother, Perry Jeter Jr. (Ruby) of Jackson, Tenn.; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Shandy Baptist Church.
William David Reeder William David Reeder was born July 25, 1948 in Selmer, Tenn., the son of the late William Baker and Mildred Jones Reeder. David graduated from Selmer High School in 1967 and pursued higher education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville majoring in sociology. He worked many years for the State of Tennessee in the social work field. Later, he started a second career working for the federal government at the Internal Revenue Service in Memphis, Tenn. He enjoyed painting, playing the guitar, and growing flowers. He would share flower seeds with family and friends. Mr. Reeder departed this life on July 16, 2016 in Selmer, Tenn. at the age of 67 years, 11 months, 21 days. He is survived by a sister, Anne Salewsky of Selmer, Tenn.; a nephew, Christopher Replogle of Selmer, Tenn.; and a host of extended family and friends. At the request of Mr. Reeder, there will be no services.
James ‘Jim’ Thurman Teague Celebration of Life services for James “Jim” Thurman Teague, 91, of Fayetteville, Ga. were held Saturday, July 23 at Chewalla Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Doyle officiating and burial in Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, July 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Chewalla Baptist Church. Jim went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. He was born May 4, 1925, in McNairy County as the third son of George Omar and Viola Smith Teague. Jim was a man of strong faith. He was a member of Chewalla Baptist Church and attended Flat Creek Baptist Church while living in Fayetteville, Ga. He was employed with South Central Bell and AT&T for 34 years before retiring as Plant Manager in 1983. He served in WWII, American Theater, as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He also served as Vice Commander for American Legion Post 162 of Selmer, Tenn. Jim had a passion for hunting and fishing and never passed up an opportunity to do either. One of his greatest joys was to take his grandchildren hunting with him. he loved to work with his hands and could fix almost anything. He and his wife Kat have raised a garden ever since they were married and continue to do so today. One of his favorite things to say was “I can feed you for a day or teach you to fish and feed you for life,” he meant it literally and figuratively. Jim’s love of the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for God and his family. He will be missed greatly as he is greatly loved. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katherine Teague; his children, James Scott (Pat) of Greenville, Cindy Teague Vincent (Brett) of Fayetteville, GA, and Ginger Teague Griffin (Bill) of Roland, Ark.; five grandchildren, Bronson Teague, William and Cooper Griffin, Hadley and Morgan Smith; a great-grandchild, Ava Scott Teague; and a sister, Martha Davis, of Covington, Tenn. He also leaves behind a host of other family and dear friends. Memorials can be made in honor of Jim Teague to Chewalla Baptist Church Building Fund, 718 New Hope Road, Ramer, TN 38367.

Tommy Lee Kilzer Tommy Lee Kilzer, age 65, of Selmer, formerly of Henderson, died Wednesday morning July 20, 2016 at his home in Selmer. Mr. Kilzer was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Frank James and Lexie Maie Davis Kilzer. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1969. He farmed for many years in and around Chester County. He worked as a dock supervisor at Weber Costello and Milan Express and then as a truck driver. Most recently he owned and operated Klean Kut Lawn Service with his son Brad. He married Rene Bodiford in 1997 and they made their home in Selmer the last eleven years. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Rene Bodiford Kilzer of Selmer, two sons; Brad Kilzer and wife Nikki of Mercer and Bryan Burks of Shiloh, two daughters; Emily Kilzer O’Quin and husband Alan of Brownsville and Brooke Burks of Selmer, seven grandchildren; Emma Davis O’Quin, Mary Alan O’Quinn, Whit Thomas O’Quin, Braydon Kilzer, Brooklyn Kilzer, Eli Kilzer, and Meredith Jones, and a sister Mary Lou Parker of Henderson. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Kilzer in 2013. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. Friday at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. The family received family and friends at the church beginning in Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel was in charge.
Mattie Arline Moore Mattie Arline McGarity Moore was born March 28, 1926 in McNairy County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Ed and Dora Walkins McGarity. She grew up in a small community called Mudd Creek near Adamsville, Tenn. She was united in marriage to Herbert J.D. Moore on November 5, 1940. Mr. Moore preceded her in death in April of 1995. Arline worked 40 years as a sewing operator before retiring. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Selmer, Tenn. Mrs. Moore departed this life on July 21, 2016 in Bolivar, Tenn. at the age of 90 years, 3 months, 23 days. She is survived by a daughter, Sue Nell Stafford and husband Lloyd of Bolivar, Tenn.; a son, Jerry Neal Moore and wife Brenda of Finger, Tenn.; four granddaughters: Brigit Turner, Jessica Huckaby and husband Benji, Molly Stafford and Tonya Norman; six great grandchildren: Joshua Moore, Hayden Moore, Hunter Turner, Scottie Norman, Shelby Turner and Maggie Huckaby. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her first grandchild, James Herbert Moore on November 30, 2011; her twin sister, Irene Barber; and three brothers: John Earl McGarity, Melvin McGarity and Willard McGarity. Services were held on July 23, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tenn., Tony Polk officiated. Burial followed in the Lake Hill Memorial Gardens at Bethel Springs, Tenn.
