Since 2008, the Staatskapelle Desden has invited thousands of visitors to take part in their summer open air concert series. The 2012 concert once again offers classical music fans the opportunity to enjoy a starstudded event. Born in 1987 in Beijing, Yuja Wangis is currently one of the most popular pianists and has performed with a number of cherished orchestras, e.g. the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Orchestre de Paris as well as with Berliner Philharmoniker. With her impressive performance of Sergei Prokofiev‘s Third Piano Concerto under Claudio Abbado at the Lucerne Festival 2009, she made sure that there is not only one Chinese piano genius ...

To celebrate Lang Lang’s 30th birthday, „the hottest pianist on the classical music planet“ and iconic jazz pianist Herbie Hancock joined forces in an extraordinary performance at the famous O2 World in Berlin, Germany in June 2012. Lang Lang and Herbie Hancock performed a programme including Gershwin‘s „Rhapsody in Blue“ and Bernstein‘s „Tonight“ (from „West Side Story“) in arrangement for two pianos and orchestra plus arrangements of classical hits like Brahms’ „Hungarian Dance No.5“ and Schubert‘s „Marche millitaire“, for which Lang Lang and Hancock were joined by 50 children pianists.
