About AC

When the temperatures and humidity increase and the humidity rises, an AC can help you stay cool. But do you know how to stop the electric bills from rising, reducing the energy consumption and keeping you warm during summer's scorching heat?

Here are 4 guidelines that you can use-

1. Set the Right Default Temperature

Research has shown that around 6 per cent of the energy is saved each degree we increase the temperature. The lower the temperature you set for your air conditioner, the longer the compressors are working, racking up your electric bill..

If you opt for keeping the AC operating at the default setting

you could save up to 24 per cent energy.

Make sure it stays at 24 degrees C elsius instead of 18 degree Celsius

Sealed Rooms & Shut Devices Save Electricity

Electronic devices that are heavy such as the refrigerator, TV and computers generate lots of heat, which makes your AC work more.

Turn them off prior to when you turn on the AC. The room should cool off some, and then you can turn them back on.

Switch on and Switch off to Save Electricity

If you're sitting for long periods in a room that is air-conditioned try this trick. You can keep the fan running for a few hours before turning off for a further one or two hours. The room will remain cool, while saving lots of energy.
