In this brochure, we proudly introduce you to a system representing an innovative approach to the production of light guide plates - a system also providing a platform for the future technology within this dynamic field.

How do we define 100 % quality? With TCP 1000 you get a perfect result, repeatedly in every cycle. In a consistent process you always get 100 % replication without warpage or other unwanted effects. Production in a clean-room classified 1000 or better brings a result that is no less than perfect! This level of quality is achieved by interaction between the patented TC TECH induction heating and an advanced method for active cooling. These technologies are the fruits of longstanding research efforts matched by practical experience from other applications. Along with a power unit and control functions of our own design, it allows control with high accuracy and thus allows brilliant performance. Again and again.

How do we define premium efficiency? TCP 1000 has a unique system for rapid regulation of the mould temperature - which actually can be shifted both ways by 100 °C per second. You could rightfully label this “active cooling” and “intelligent heating”! The mould temperature is adapted to the type of material. For a typical optical PMMA sheet, the mould surface is heated to 250 °C and cooled to below 50 °C within less than 10 seconds! The total production cycle for 42” light guide plate will be below 45 seconds. Plate thickness and multicavity has merely a marginal influence on cycle time.

What do we mean by boundless performance? With TCP 1000, plastic sheet thickness does not imply the traditional restrictions. The system can handle sheets of down to 0.3 mm thickness without any problems - i.e. at an optimal level of quality and efficiency. Two-sided patterns can be produced as easily as one-sided ones. Any pattern for light guide plates or Fresnel lenses can be produced with 100 % replication. Up to 55� inch LGP or multicavity up to 3 pieces of 27� LGP or similar can be produced in one cycle.

What do we mean by 100 % replication? TCP 1000 gives 100 % replication of the stamper - if needed on both sides. The quality of the pattern equals the level of Blue Ray pits. Furthermore, no post-processing is needed. Due to the innovative cold frame, roll-off can be eliminated. No UV paint has to be added and there is no risk for flashing.

What do we mean by small footprint? Within a surface of 5 sqm, the system can produce plates up to a dimension of 55” or multicavity up to 3 pieces of 27” LGP or similar. Separate allocation of press and power unit along with a modular structure allows a highly flexible system layout. The system is prepared for online monitoring and TC TECH can offer distance support and evaluation of data. Since the highly efficient power unit (up to 500 kW) just needs to work a few seconds in each cycle, a 42” plate can normally be produced with less than 1.5 kWh per cycle. The option to make very thin plates saves material and the process itself generates very modest emission levels.

What do we mean by multicavity? TCP allows production with multiple cavities – up to 3 x 27” in the 55” tool – without compromising quality or cycle time. Change of plate dimension requires only a few minutes. Thanks to a system that is both simple and ingenious, heavy tool costs are eliminated during this process. The cost for adjustment of the tool to each additional plate dimension is modest indeed.
