Team ALCOM Speaks The Alumni Committee is happy to present Imprints September edition. In this edition, Team ALCOM is glad to present an exclusive interview with our Alumnus, Mr. Vikas Arora. SIMSR welcomed the students of MMS batch 2016-18 and MCA batch 2016-18 at the inaugural function held on 19th August, 2016. Dr. Mukund Rajan, Member-Group Executive Council TATA Sons Ltd, Brand Custodian of TATA Brand and Chief Ethics Officer of the TATA Group of companies was the guest of honour.

Alumni Achievements Mr. Kaushal Thakkar, SIMSR Alum of batch 2002-04 received the prestigious ECHO Silver Award for Strategy/Best Use of Digital-Search in India. The DMA International ECHO Awards are the benchmark for extraordinary digital, data-driven and direct response marketing. Mr. Kaushal, Sr. Product Manager at Myntra received this award from Mr. Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Executive Creative Director - South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather. Read more here

Dr. Rupali Paranjpe

Dr. Rupali Paranjpe has stepped down as Alumni Relations Chairperson of SIMSR due to personal reasons. We thank Dr. Rupali Paranjpe for her support and contribution. She will continue to remain a faculty team member of the Alumni Committee. Dr. Bharati VW will take over as the Chairperson. Dr. Bharati has 23 years of academic experience. She joined SIMSR in 2010 and specializes in communication networks & wireless technology.

Outreach Mr. Sanjog Ahuja, a member of the Alumni Committee, met with Mr. Jatindeep Sachdeva, SIMSR Alum of batch 2001, on 14th June 2016. Mr. Sachdeva is currently the Senior VP, Corporate Banking at BNP Paribas. He is one of the alumni who persuaded Team ALCOM to begin with a SIMSR Jobs portal and is very keen on attending Nostalgia this year. Mr. Akshay Kamath, a member of the Alumni Committee, met with Mrs. Jyoti Gouda, SIMSR Alum of batch 2009, on 5th August 2016. Mrs. Gouda is currently the Assistant Manager, HR, at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. She was impressed with the activities performed by ALCOM and expressed her interest in being involved with the PGDM recruitment process from next year onwards.

Anveshan, the meet between the first year students and alumni of the latest graduating batch saw a turnout of nearly 150 students! They were interrogating their super seniors about what exactly awaits them at the other side of the fence. 25 alumni from the batch 2014-16 successfully allayed the doubts of the students. The Alumni Committee was delighted to welcome back to campus Ex Alumni Committee members Rohan Pai, Swinston D’almeida, Bishavjot Singh, Apurva Mishra, Yash Sanghavi, Bivash Bala, Ridhi Gupta and Rishikesh Dhabolkar.

Guest Lecture

Enactus SIMSR at the Enactus India National Enactus, the Social Cell of SIMSR made it to the semi-finals of the prestigious Enactus India National competition 2016 by qualifying in the top 10. The event had our students showcase how their community outreach projects and business ventures are enabling progress through entrepreneurial action.

Mr. Rahul Avasthy, Digital Marketing Head, Abbott India delivered a lecture on “Creativity via Technology”. Key points shared and discussed:  His inspiration and his work in the field of digital marketing  A powerful message - “Technology can be used creatively to change the regular things that exist in the world.” Read more here
