ALL-SIDE SAME-SIDE
One morning very early Fox went to Crab’s house to drink water. “Morning Fox,” said Crab. “This is a nice morning we’re having?”
“Very nice” said Fox, who had plenty to each the previous evening. “I feel like jumping and running around.”
“Let’s run!” said Crab.
“You?” asked Fox. “You cannot even stay with me for half a stride.”
“We’ll see!” said Crab.
“Let’s go,” said Fox and ran down next to the stream. What he doesn’t realise is that Crab got hold of his tail with his big claws.
When Fox felt that he ran enough, he called over his shoulder: “Where are you Crab?”
“Right here,” Crab answered from behind him.
“But how did you get here?” Fox asked surprisingly.
“I ran,” Crab answered.
“Run so I can see,” said Fox.
Crab jogged sideways away from Fox and came back sideways again, just as crabs usually do.
“Oh,” said Fox “It is no wonder you stayed with me. You are simply running to allsides, while the other animals only run forward.”
