ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
Assessment is a continuous process to monitor learners’ progress. In the subject of Life Orientation certain skills are required. These include decision-making, communication, assertiveness, negotiation, goal setting, problem solving and creative thoughts.
Learners are assessed in two ways: 1. Informal assessment tasks These tasks take place during the instruction process. It is usually the activity that must be completed at the end of each lesson.
2. Formal assessment All assessment tasks which make up the formal assessment programme for the year are seen as formal assessment. They are formally marked by a marker and the marks are recorded. All formal assessment can be found in the portfolio book. The facilitator marks the tasks.
