ARSENAL GOALKEEPER’S INCREDIBLE STOP AGAINST AFC BOURNEMOUTH VOTED THE BEST IN MARCH

Aaron Ramsdale’s sensational stop to deny Dango Ouattara has won March’s Castrol Save of the Month award.
Ramsdale flew out to smother the AFC Bournemouth winger’s shot when it looked like being a certain goal.
It was a crucial moment in more ways than one, as it prevented Arsenal from going 2-0 down after 21 minutes of a match they went on to win in dramatic fashion.
On his save, Ramsdale told Arsenal’s official website: “We do quite a lot of work with our goalkeeping coaches doing spreads and one v ones. The ball came across the box and Dom Solanke couldn’t get on it, and the winger took it first time. I knew I needed to get on the end of it, and it managed to hit me on the forearm. It was a nice save.
“It’s probably better than what it was given the timing in the game. We were 1-0 down and if it went to 2-0 it would have been difficult. With what happened with Reiss [Nelson] and the comeback heightens the save even more, so it was a pivotal moment in the game.” www.arsenal.com www.football.london www.football.london unsplash.com twitter.com/Arsenal bleacherreport.com www.premierleague.com theathletic.com images.google.com www.skysports.com
Ramsdale wins a Premier League monthly award for the first time, after his save topped a shortlist featuring five other stops by goalkeepers across the month.
It completes an awards hat-trick for Arsenal, after Bukayo Saka won the EA SPORTS Player of the Month prize and Mikel Arteta was named the Barclays Manager of the Month.
