Oskar Blues Brewing Dales Pale Ale

Dates, figs and chocolate. Black currants, barrel-aged in bourbon casks. The result is an Imperial Porter with a tart berry and chocolate aroma with luscious layers of dried fruit, oak and vanilla. A fitting tribute to the 25th Anniversary of their flagship beer.

This voluminously hopped mother delivers a hoppy nose and assertive-but-balanced flavors of pale malts and citrusy floral hops from start to finish. Oskar Blues launched its canning ops in 2002, brewing and hand-canning Dale’s Pale Ale in the Lyons, ColoRADo, brewpub. America’s first-craft-canned mountain Pale is a hearty, critically acclaimed trailblazer that changed the way craft beer fiends perceive portable beer.

Cismontane Brewing Black’s Dawn Stout A heavy, strong stout brewed with coffee, brown sugar and oats. With its powerful quality and morning ingredients it seems parallel to a solid dawn surf session at Blacks. With an inside connection to boutique roasted fair trade beans they were granted the opportunity to make this exceptional brew even better.

Dogfish Head Brewing Sahtea This Ancient Ale is a modern take on a 9th-century Finnish beer. The wort for Sah’tea is caramelized over white-hot river rocks, and the beer is fermented with a German weizen yeast. In addition to juniper berries foraged from the Finnish countryside, Sah’tea is flavored with black tea. The spicing is subtle and balanced, and Sah’tea is a highly-quaffable, truly unique brew with a full mouth feel.

Napa Smith Brewing Lost Dog Red Ale

Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan

Perfect one finger white head with a nice pale golden color to the body. Uniform head that held for almost a minute; lacing is good. Aroma is grapefruit, kumquat, and tangy unripened peach. Taste is boldly hopped, but the use of simcoe/cascade/ crystal reminds me of citra and willamette. Slightly bitter, but with that nice unripened peach flavor as well. A great new local producer with a bright future.

The full-bodied American Red Ale is rich and robust, with a hoppy finish that practically rolls over and begs for another taste. With a warm red hue and a dense off-white head, Lost Dog is the perfect ale to share with someone special or a longlost friend. Star fruit and honey nose with some oaky highlights. Murky amber, medium yellow head. Honey and oak flavor with grapefruit toward the back end, very woody. Medium body. Well balanced, Not typical of the style, but tasty. I would get this again.

Hefeweissbier pours a golden color, with a large frothy massive lacing head. The aroma has a lot of cloves and banana notes, with a little ester. The taste has a great creamy crisp wheat backbone, with cloves and banana notes, with a nice mellow ester flavor. Very drinkable, very full flavor, perfect carbonation. Overall, WOW. Clearly a “bench mark for German Hefe.

Castel Brewery Kasteel Rouge The taste, My God...in one phrase...absolute enjoyment! a Perfect combination of strong dark beer with fruity cherry. My kind of good fruit beer! There are of course cherries in the taste, a soft taste of aromas of beer but not over pounding. Fresh, lightly sweet and very good drinkability, a quite dangerous but a very, very great beer! About the dangerous part it is fresh and a fruity beer but with the alcohol of 8%, you will not recognize it in this fantastic beer. You will drink more and more....

Straffe Hendricks Belgian Quad The aroma is a good mix of typical Belgian yeast and orange along with a touch of sugar and and breadiness, with possible caramel and breadiness as well. Medium-bodied with a very slight sticky touch, the beer has a sharp carbonation and peppery spice edge that adds balance and gives a crisp finish (vanilla?). The taste is moderately sweet, with some candy sugar like malt along with toffee or caramel or bitter cocoa and a chewy breadiness, as well as having some fruit flavors beyond citric/orange like touches of dark fruit like figs or black cherry. A textbook quad with great balance and a mix of fruit and sweet flavors that is a quality example of the style that hides the alcohol well.

Oskar Blues Brewing Ten Fidy Imperial Stout Simply put, this is one of the best beers I’ve ever had - any style, bar none. It pours motor oil black with a thick creamy head. Taste is chocolate, coffee and with plenty of hop bitterness. This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Ten FIDY is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY is the ultimate celebration of dark malts and boundary-stretching beer. The best that Oskar Blues makes, and they make several excellent offerings.

Clown Shoes Brewing Vampire Slayer I’ve really enjoyed this one, though not perfect, it has a lot going for it. Pitch black color, dark tan head, lots of nice lacing throughout. There’s not much in the smell - liquorice, some chocolate, alcohol, currants; just OK, not one thing jumping out. I’ll say that the feel is just about perfect for me with this imperial stout: creamy, not too much carbonation, no syrupy stickiness, just heavy enough. There’s a bit too much booze in the flavor for me, right up front, and sugar. But more liquorice, anise, some charcoal and smoke, dark chocolate, some sour maltiness.

Firestone-Walker Brewing 805 Belgian Blonde Ale Wow.... for a blonde ale...I really enjoyed this one. Nice dark blonde in color with some nice pure white head retention. Aromas are there but mild with some sweet malts as expected... but the flavor was quite full for style... lots of slightly sweet malt backbone. No hops, but malt flavors were nice. Great with pub food in general when you don’t know what you are eating at a party. Very versatile beer for a beer lover.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Narwhal Imperial Stout A new brew in the Stout arena and it’s a winner. Narwhal has a very nicely balanced flavor profile. Upfront sweetness is tamed by bitterness on the mid-palate through to the finish. I wouldn’t mind a little less bitterness to let the rich, chocolatey flavors to stand out more. Flavors of cacao nibs and black coffee astringency. Mouth feel has a nice weightiness to it, while there’s an appropriate level of carbonation. Alcohol heat is present but doesn’t jump out and become distracting.

22 oz

Kern River Brewing Just Outstanding IPA This beer is just like the name says, Just Outstanding. It is easily one of my favorite beers, and a top 3 IPA for sure, it is fantastic. The citrusy hops present a very nice bitterness without tasting skunky or overly bitter. It is smooth and tasty all the time. I wish they had a larger brew capacity. No matter what, we are fortunate to enjoy such bounty in our backyard.

22 oz

Ballast Point Brewing Sculpin IPA Cutting to the chase on this beer. It’s been around a while and there are lots of reviews but in my opinion it rivals all others who claim to be the best IPA. Color is a gorgeous nice mango color, a thick fluffy head over two fingers high. When I tasted it, WOW it’s fruit forward, and nice hoppy bitterness at the swallow. It’s fruity and delicious, and has a classic West Coast flavor profile. This is a flat out delicious IPA.

Hangar 24 Brewing Orange Wheat Crisp, tangy, and refreshing. The citrus aroma, light airy mouth feel, and tangy finish are this unfiltered beer’s trademarks. This is accomplished by adding whole locally grown oranges throughout the brewing process, which perfectly coalesce with the wheat and barley base. Our best selling summer refresher from the beer brewers at Hangar 24.

Samuel Smith Brewing Chocolate Stout This is a serious brew that tastes “Oh So Good”. Brewed with well water (the original well, sunk in 1758, is still in use with the hard water is drawn from 85 feet underground). The gently roasted organic chocolate malt and organic cocoa impart a delicious, smooth and creamy character, with inviting deep flavors and a delightful finish - this is the perfect marriage of satisfying stout and luxurious chocolate.

Nectar Ales Brewing Nectar IPA This IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name “Humboldt IPA Nectar” until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Dogfish Head Brewing 90 Minute IPA Esquire Magazine calls this 90 Minute IPA “perhaps the best IPA in America.” An imperial IPA best savored from a snifter, 90 Minute has a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. 90 Minute IPA was the first beer Dogfish continuously hopped, allowing for a pungent -- but not crushing -- hop flavor. Since introducing the world to the continuous-hopping method with their 90 Minute IPA, they’ve since released the continuously hopped 60 & 120 Minute IPA”s.

Boulevard Brewing Bourbon Barrel Aged Quad Based loosely on the Smokestack Series’ The Sixth Glass, this abbey-style quadruple is separated into a number of oak bourbon barrels where it ages for varying lengths of time, some for up to three years. Cherries are added to make up for the “angel’s share” of beer lost during barrel aging. Selected barrels are then blended for optimum flavor. The resulting beer retains only very subtle cherry characteristics, with toffee and vanilla notes coming to the fore.

Lost Coast Brewing Tangerine Wheat If you’re searching for hops and malts you will be disappointed in this brew. However, evaluating the beer for what it is (fruit beer) I think it hit its mark quite well. This beer is well crafted and is definitely an above average fruit beer. The beer has a thick head with nice lacing on the glass.. This beer would be an excellent picnic beer or hot weather beer. It would also be an excellent entry level beer for someone new to craft beer. Very enjoyable beer. It is definitely interesting and worth checking out. This is our best selling “fruit beer”.

750 ml

North Coast Brewing Brother Thelonious Ale Brother Thelonious pours out a rich reddish brown with a bubbly tan head that dissipates rapidly but leaves a considerable amount of lacing. Swirled around in a pint glass, the carbonation in this beer is easily identified from the effervescent quality of the liquid. The look of this beer is similar to many English-style ales in terms of color, but the deep red tones of Brother Thelonious suggest a much more complex style of brewing not readily available in many average ales. Brother Thelonious is a veritable knockout – falling somewhere in between the territory of porters and lambics. Primarily, malt is noted – Brother Thelonious has a quite heady malt composition, which comes across clearly even from the first sip. This malty head is well-complimented by a fruity under layer that quickly becomes reminiscent of caramel in the aftertaste. Certainly a must try brew.

750 ml

Duchesse de Bourgogne Sour Ale “Duchesse de Bourgogne” is an ale of mixed fermentation. It is a sweet-fruity ale with a pleasant fresh aftertaste. This ale is brewed with roasted malts and with hops with a low bitterness. After the main fermentation and the lagering, the Duchesse de Bourgogne matures for many months in oak casks. The tannins in the oak give the “Duchesse de Bourgogne” its fruity character. “Duchesse de Bourgogne” has a full, sweet and fresh taste : it is a ruby red jewel that’s best served in a chalice-shaped glass. A perfect beer. The benchmark brew for what sours are all about.

Einstok Brewing Toasted Porter With clear notes of toffee and dark chocolate, this Porter is roasty and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate. Toasted and chocolate malts give it a sinister black color, but its easy-to-drink taste will have you believing that there’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.
