What is the function of the Quran?
The Quran is regarded as the sacred book containing revelations from God – Allah SWT. It was sent down to The Prophet Muhammad PBUH in stages. It is derived from the Arabic root-word qara’a which means ‘to recite’. The Quran contains 114 surahs that touch all aspects of human existence. The Quran is the manual guide book for all, the one that the Prophet PBUH had left behind for us, alongside with the Sunnah – as mentioned by him in his last sermon. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet PBUH through the angel, Jibrail AS.
