Dear CMBC Partner/Supporter/Friend:

In April of 1940, 13 South Carolinians came to Washington, DC and formed the Carolina Missionary Baptist Church. 80 years later, we have even more reason to give God praise. This year, as we celebrate 80 years, we are thankful for God’s protection, provision, and promotion.

Since its inception, Carolina Missionary Baptist Church has sought to be a shining example of a people who are determined to follow God’s lead no matter what.

During the past 80 years, CMBC has watched God move the ministry from worshipping in a home to its well-known location on Morton Street in Washington, DC to several schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland and finally to our current 18.34-acre campus. Our focus has been maturing people, building ministries, and ultimately building more facilities to serve our communities.

Carolina has partnered with several other ministries over the years to collaboratively do the mission work of Jesus Christ. We are currently serving and sowing into the lives of young people through our partnership with schools. We are impacting the lives of those less fortunate through partnerships focused on homelessness, drug addiction and serving those who are incarcerated. We are a body of believers who are intent on making disciples, maturing believers and mastering our lives to live to our fullest potential in Christ.

We value the many relationships we have developed over our 80 years of existence and would love to include as many of our ministry friends and partners as possible. Please share this experience with us. We are grateful for all that God has done these past 80 years and excited about what He is going to do.

In Service to the King,

Pastor Sherman & Precious Nelson
