Summer Activities

There has never been a better time to get out and enjoy the good weather, so why not venture to the Great Ocean Road and embrace summer. Instead of heading straight to the beach, why not do something a little different and test your sense of direction with a day walk. There are some fantastic walks that the whole family will love, and it gives you a chance to work on your fitness level, whilst experiencing some of the most spectacular scenery around. To ease into it, why not do a medium grade walk, and start with the Marengo to Shelley Beach hike. Only 4.7 kilometres long it should take about two hours as you follow the cliff tops overlooking the ocean and then meander through a sheltered forest to renowned Shelley Beach. For the more adventurous, you may like to try the Cape Otway to Aire River hike which is approximately 10 kilometres long and should take about four hours to complete. Make sure you have a look around the lightstation first, then test your endurance through golden sand dunes and rugged scrub land before taking in spectacular Rainbow Falls on the return journey.
