Cairns Amateurs Racing C arnival 2010

A sensational turnout for the 52nd Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival!

Fashion led the way when the carnival commenced on Thursday September 2nd with a fashion High Tea for the ladies at Cannon Park. Punctuated by the attendance of the delightful Prue Eales, owner of 2009 Melbourne Cup winner, Shocking, and her family, it was a fabulous display of fun and colour both on the catwalk and amongst the crowds. Guests received complimentary glasses of bubbly upon arrival and were treated to fashion parades straight from the Mercedes Fashion Week in Brisbane accompanied by some

With a crowd of approximately 15,000 attending over the two race days, Cannon Park again rose to the occasion providing a picturesque backdrop for one of Australia’s best regional horse racing carnivals. Put it in the calendar for next year, why not make a holiday of it and enjoy all that the infamous tourist region has to offer.
