Tom Neis ’70 and Marilyn Thies ’71 met each other through mutual friends. They married on July 14, 1973 in St. Louis, MO. Alums, Marilyn Wankel Taylor ’72, and Sidney Voss Morice ’72 attended the сeremony.

Marilyn and Tom have two daughters: Elizabeth, a Millikin University graduate and Melissa, an ’02 IWU alum. Tom and Marilyn are owners of Neis Insurance Agency, Longacre Insurance Agency, Paccini Insurance Agency, Parr Insurance Brokerage Inc., and QuikRate Insurance.
